In the sewers, Gu Xi withstood the sweltering heat in the air and asked, ”What’s going on?”

Shaya, with a helpless expression on her face, said, ”Who knows what those people are thinking, they actually decided to set fire to burn Victoria City and plan to burn the coal slags to death together.

Didn’t they think, are coal slags afraid of this?

When I brought people back, Victoria City was already on fire, and the only place to hide was under the sewers.

My lord, I couldn’t guard the small building.”

”It’s alright.”

After understanding the situation in front of him, Gu Xi said indifferently.

”This time, we are not alone. We have comrades behind us.”

Gu Xi looked up at the soldiers who were also hiding in the sewers and had to admit that these guys were really open-minded.

After discovering the abnormality in Victoria City, they immediately chose to crawl into the sewers without a second thought.

Not feeling uncomfortable at all.

In fact, when they saw Gu Xi bringing in the body of Eldest Princess Anna, they were even excitedly talking about their feelings after entering the sewers.

”Let’s not talk about this now. We need to quickly go to Windsor Griffin Castle. What happened in Victoria City has nothing to do with us, do you all understand?”

”Okay, we all know, with us here, the journey is absolutely safe, but are we really going to Windsor Griffin Castle?

With such a big incident in Victoria City, shouldn’t the royal family members all go to Victoria Tower, which is the armed core of the entire Victoria City?

Only by entering there would they feel safe.

Windsor Griffin Castle is merely a place for them to relax on weekends, its defense is insufficient, so if we’re going, we should head towards Victoria Tower instead.”

Hearing Victoria Tower, Gu Xi thought of Yalidovi Tower, not far from Yalidu City.

It was a castle Gu Xi always wanted to capture.

Back then, when he entered Yalidu City from the Mirror Image Underground Palace, he also entered from this position.

Regarding the defense system of Yalidovi Tower, Gu Xi had seen it and he knew that the soldiers were right.

”Alright then, let’s head over there now.”

”Okay, let’s have us lead the way in front and walk through the sewers where possible.

When we get near there, we’ll come out.”

”Why?”

Gu Xi curiously asked.

”All supplies of Victoria Tower are an independent system, including the sewers; regardless of who it is, they can only enter and exit through the main gate of the castle, ensuring the safety of the castle.”

Hearing such an explanation, Gu Xi was a bit worried. He was considering whether charging toward Victoria Tower right now would cause them to be attacked as enemies by the British Royal Family.

”No need to worry, we’re regular troops, and we’re taking the corpse of Eldest Princess Anna over, who dares to stop us?”

”Alright, let’s go then.”

Gu Xi was not one to hesitate or delay. After understanding the situation here, he made a decisive decision.

The group quickly moved forward in the sewers.

Throughout the journey, Shaya led the way at the front, while Gu Xi and other British soldiers took turns carrying the body of Eldest Princess Anna, following behind.

The rest also quickly followed, with a few stronger soldiers bringing up the rear to prevent anyone from getting lost in the sewer, which was like a maze.

After all, the situation in the sewer wasn’t good, and if one accidentally got lost, they would quickly disappear in the sewers and never be able to leave alive.

Shaya at the front kept choosing good paths to walk on.

But Victoria City had already turned into a huge furnace, and the sewers, being relatively close to the ground, were affected to some extent, with some parts of the sewer already burned open or even collapsed.

Even Shaya had to occasionally find paths that were passable.

The soldiers following behind also felt the increasing temperature.

But none of them urged Shaya.

They all knew clearly, they could claim familiarity with Victoria City, but truly knew nothing about the sewer’s defenses.

If they lost Shaya, unless they climbed up directly braving the flames on the surface, they couldn’t get out of the sewers at all.

So they couldn’t lose Shaya, their guide.

Even if Shaya kept backtracking to places they’d already walked, they had no complaints.

They walked in the sewers for about one and a half hours.

The temperature in the sewers gradually decreased.

Shaya, leading the way, touched the sewer wall and said, ”We’re almost out, about half an hour more and we’ll reach a safe place. It will be faster once we walk on the surface.”

Gu Xi also felt that the temperature above the sewer wasn’t as high as the places they had passed, so he relaxed a bit.

”Do you want to take a break?”

Unexpectedly, all the soldiers shook their heads.

”No need to rest, this stretch isn’t much for us.”

”Exactly, we’re Holy Knights, what’s there to fear?”

”Right, if it weren’t for the sewers being hard to rush through, I could show you a sprint.”

”...”

Seeing the enthusiasm of these soldiers, Gu Xi naturally wouldn’t make things difficult for them.

”Alright then, let’s move forward for another half an hour and take a break once we’re on the surface.”

Hearing this, all the soldiers cheered excitedly.

Gu Xi could even feel a golden eagle with spread wings above their heads.

This was a display of boosted morale.

As a player, it was the first time Gu Xi encountered such a situation while leading a team.

This made him look at them a few more times.

These soldiers had no objections, and the guide Shaya naturally wouldn’t have any either.

As the Undead, Shaya didn’t need rest, and under Gu Xi’s command, she began leading ahead again.

However, the next stretch wasn’t easy either.

The previous sewers were heated by fire, making them too hot, and all the mysterious creatures, water ghosts, rats, and such had fled.

But this stretch of the sewer was different; Gu Xi and his team encountered several waves of rats.

There were even water ghosts and some strange mysterious creatures attempting to lure Gu Xi and his team into the sewer water.

The Redcap just killed by Gu Xi was a strange existence. If it weren’t for Gu Xi’s quick reaction, this guy nearly sprang out of the sewage, grabbed Gu Xi’s leg, and dragged him into the sewage.

Even knowing he wouldn’t drown in the sewage, just looking at the filth floating on it made Gu Xi’s scalp tingle.

If he were dragged into the water and choked on two gulps, Gu Xi would rather not live.

So, in rage, Gu Xi unleashed a storm of attacks on the sewage, a Bone Storm pushed away two.

If not for the regular British soldiers following behind, he would have been inclined to use Death Ripple.

Fortunately, this journey eventually had an end; Shaya in front opened a rusty iron gate with joy and said, ”We’re here!”
