Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 285: Chapter 283: First Player Kill

”Follow me and kill!”

The Demon Man’s eyes turned into spirals, and he swung the Curved Saber at a nearby passenger. Under his command, other Enchanting Demons also began attacking the passengers.

Seeing this, Gu Xi was speechless.

He had only hypnotized the guy, and hadn’t even given any command yet. How had he started attacking on his own?

Gu Xi never expected that this suddenly appearing Demon Sorcerer turned out to be someone with weak willpower, easily susceptible to mental attacks.

When he usually played with the Enchanting Demons, due to sometimes lacking strength, they would use some mental Spells to stimulate his desires.

It could be said that he was usually under hypnosis that magnified his desires.

This time, before Gu Xi could give any order, the Demon Man drew the Curved Saber. Clearly, he had wanted to kill Gu Xi for a long time.

This was clearly a habit of being hypnotized, with his desires being instinctively magnified after entering hypnosis.

The Demon Man’s reckless behavior left Gu Xi speechless.

He decisively stood up with his briefcase, took a sidestep, and squeezed to the side door of the train.

By now, the Demon Man had caught the attention of all the passengers. Most of them were now squeezing towards him, with only a few turning their heads towards Gu Xi, their faces showing increasingly clear curiosity.

”The train is about to arrive at the station. Those of us who are getting off should move to the door in advance; it’s perfectly logical.”

Thankfully, from the earlier interaction, Gu Xi had learned how to deal with these bizarre passengers.

As long as you’re willing to speak, and manage to make your words sound logical, they won’t care about your rationality.

Sure enough, as soon as Gu Xi said this, a few passengers turned their heads away, not even bothering with the fierce fight happening with the Demon Man.

Moreover, Gu Xi noticed something; as soon as he mentioned the train was about to stop, the train actually started to slow down.

It seemed he almost fell into a trap earlier. Had he not said this, he might never have been able to get off the train.

Now it was different. The scenery outside the window was slowing down; Gu Xi could even clearly see the situation outside.

At this moment, Gu Xi glanced at the pinned-down Demon Man, with a few Enchanting Demons trying to drag him out.

Was he trying to rescue him?

That wouldn’t do. Gu Xi couldn’t let this guy just escape like that.

So, Gu Xi focused his gaze on the Demon Man, moved his heart, and raised his left hand once more.

His gesture immediately attracted the passengers’ attention, even causing those holding down the Demon Man to turn their heads.

Luckily, Gu Xi reacted quickly and grabbed the hanging ring, which made them give up their attention on him.

Meanwhile, Gu Xi silently activated another effect of the Spirit Lamp in his heart.

Spirit Flame!

This was a Flame power that could directly ignite a foe’s Soul. Gu Xi had never used it before, as he usually fought large Legion battles, and such one-on-one encounters were rare.

But the situation was different now, and with a small gesture unnoticed by the passengers, flames ignited on the Demon Man’s body.

However, Gu Xi underestimated the sensitivity of the passengers in the carriage, as they all simultaneously turned their heads towards him.

Fortunately, Gu Xi reacted swiftly, stepping back and pretending to be scared.

”Is this a Demon from Hell? Indeed, Demons do burn with flames.”

Upon hearing this, the passengers turned their heads back again.

Yes, it made sense that Demons would come with Flames.

No worries, as long as he’s a Demon. Keep beating him down!

Seeing the passengers turn away, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He winked at the Demon Man who had regained his wits amidst the flames and then stood by the train door.

The doors opened instantly, and Gu Xi stepped out of the carriage.

After quickly surveying the surroundings, confirming he was off the train, Gu Xi turned back.

He noticed that the still-burning Demon Man was struggling to stand among the passengers, attempting to move towards the door.

Quickly, Gu Xi said, ”First off, then on; that’s very logical. All departing passengers have alighted, and now boarding passengers can get on. I remember this train is quite crowded, and some people couldn’t get on without help to pack them in.”

As soon as he finished speaking, many passengers crowded by the door.

They frantically squeezed onto the train, even trying to push Gu Xi back on.

Not being foolish, Gu Xi, who had managed to escape, wouldn’t go back. So he swiftly dodged away and ran outside.

After getting out of the crowd, Gu Xi turned back and saw several passengers already on the train. Among the crowd, the last bit of Flame was slowly fading away.

[Cold Leaf City Duan Wheel died in battle.]

Seeing the information popping up before him, Gu Xi understood that the Demon Man was finished.

It seemed this guy had really terrible luck: not only ending up on the same train as Gu Xi but also provoking Gu Xi, only to end up being countered by Gu Xi and killed using that bizarre train.

It’s a bit of a pity; defeating a Player doesn’t earn any rewards.

Had there been a reward, Gu Xi would’ve set off some fireworks in celebration.

Just as Gu Xi was about to turn and leave, he suddenly felt heat from the briefcase in his hands.

Gu Xi paused, quickly glancing around, then opened the briefcase and took out a sheet of white paper he previously had.

Now, two lines of text appeared on the white paper.

[Logical Person (Level 1): A fairly common eerie type. They aren’t very aggressive and usually just mind their own business. But the moment you do something illogical, they will fixate on you and report your illogical behavior to nearby powerful eerie beings, serving as the eyes and ears of the bizarre.]

[Means of Elimination: Not found.]

Reading the information recorded on the white paper, Gu Xi recognized its practical value and felt relieved he hadn’t discarded it.

If he had thrown it away initially, he wouldn’t know where to check such eerie information upon encountering them.

Putting the white paper back safely, Gu Xi glanced again at the departing train, then simply turned around and walked out of the station.

Before him, the station clearly resembled an underground one, but the floor was wooden, and upon looking up, one would notice that besides the dim lights, there were also some black marks on the ceiling.

Occasionally, something would peek out from the dark corners, watching everything around.

The situation made Gu Xi reluctant to linger. He quickly moved towards the station’s main entrance, and as he pushed open the doors and exited the station, he couldn’t help but exclaim.

”Damn!”
