Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 267: Chapter 265: The Secret of Yaliduvi Tower (91/160)

[Ding! Luna (Contracted Undead) has started occupying Yaliduvi Tower, triggering a temporary mission!]

[Temporary Mission: Transitioning Core]

[Mission Description: Occupy and defend Yaliduvi Tower!]

[Mission Requirements: Occupy the main building of Yaliduvi Tower (0/1), slay three waves of enemies (0/3)]

[Mission Rewards: Random large undead architectural design plans *3, core architectural design plan *1.]

[Note 1: Through several transitions, this place has always been the core. Why is that, don’t you have any clue?]

[Note 2: A castle is quite central to a city.]

As the notification rang in his ear, Gu Xi knew the mission had begun.

He cast his gaze over the area of Yaliduvi Tower.

With just one glance, Gu Xi could tell that the castle covered at least seventy thousand square meters.

That’s roughly the size of ten football fields added up.

Behind the high walls, there’s a central fortress, thirteen defense towers, and six towers plus two bastions outside the walls, along with a moat in the outermost layer.

It’s evident that the defense system here is quite complete.

If it weren’t for the fact that the gate was already open when Gu Xi arrived, it would have taken him a lot of time to break in.

And between the central fortress and the high towers, many different corridors and buildings are interconnected.

It is evident that no matter where the attack occurs, the central fortress can quickly sever all connections, or rapidly dispatch troops in support.

If such a castle were to appear on the battlefield, its effect would be groundbreaking.

However, Gu Xi also understood that for the castle to appear on the battlefield, Death City must reach at least level 17.

Securing Yaliduvi Tower now was not of much use to Gu Xi’s battlefront yet.

This is precisely why Gu Xi had not firmly decided to capture it before, even though he had sufficient troops.

But now it was different; after being disgraced before Victoria Tower, Gu Xi directly took Yaliduvi Tower as the target of his vented wrath.

The strategy was simply to attack.

When the temporary mission was activated, Gu Xi arranged the troops under An’s command, while he stood atop the Evil Coffin, gazing around, judging from where the first wave of enemies would emerge.

The current Gu Xi was not like when he completed the first temporary mission with only dozens of soldiers at his disposal.

The troops under his command now numbered several thousand.

You could say everything from aerial units, ground units, long-range, close combat, magic system, to physical attack units, everything you could think of was here.

No matter what kind of enemy appeared, Gu Xi could deal with them.

If the Deceitful Shadows reappeared, not only Gu Xi but even the two Heroes outside could defeat them easily.

It can be said that Gu Xi is quite confident now.

As Gu Xi contemplated where the enemies would come from, the sky suddenly darkened.

Although there was not much light in this world, such a sudden darkening was clearly not right.

Startled, Gu Xi quickly looked up.

What he saw was shocking; Gu Xi exclaimed in his heart: Oh my gosh.

At this moment, five identical mirror images of Yaliduvi Tower emerged in the sky simultaneously.

Each mirrored Yaliduvi Tower was separated by more than a thousand meters, but because Yaliduvi Tower itself occupied a large area, Gu Xi could see a long string of buildings hidden among the clouds above with just a glance.

This situation made Gu Xi realize one thing, no wonder Yaliduvi Tower is the core of transitions.

Each transition of Yaliduvi City produced a separate mirror image space, cloning the new Victoria City anew.

And after each transition, Yaliduvi City was not on the same mirror plane but separated by an unknown distance.

The connection between Yaliduvi Cities might lie in these unified yet layered Yaliduvi Towers.

Realizing this, Gu Xi was even more determined to capture Yaliduvi Tower.

Only by conquering this Yaliduvi Tower could Gu Xi launch attacks on Yaliduvi Cities from other periods, seizing new cities.

Gu Xi could already imagine what his Yaliduvi City would look like, a multi-layered treasure tower-like city piling up into a giant city tower.

As Gu Xi pondered, the five newly appeared Yaliduvi Towers had also stabilized, and then one of the Yaliduvi Towers started moving from its original position, flying toward where Gu Xi was.

As the Yaliduvi Tower pressed down, Gu Xi noticed that a large group of troops had already gathered on the open ground above it.

It seemed this was the first wave of enemies.

Gu Xi understood this and also looked towards the enemy forces.

This force numbered around three thousand; from their appearance, most seemed to be mirror images influenced by mysterious powers, and some wore black robes, appearing like Cultists who had perished within the Mirror Image Underground Palace.

When they stood, they were always awkwardly tilted, not looking like any formal army.

However, Gu Xi did not underestimate them, suspecting that half of the three thousand were blood sacrifice offerings.

Simultaneously, Gu Xi noticed a situation: the Yaliduvi Tower descending bore slight differences from the one he occupied. Outside it, a headless woman in court attire was slowly pacing around the tower.

This woman carried her head under her arm, as if carrying a flower basket.

Her presence reminded Gu Xi of something he once heard when he learned about the Mirror Image Space.

The blood sacrifice requires the heads of the Emperor of Britain and Queen of Britain, the blood of a British Princess and a British Crown Prince, the lives of a British Prince and a Britannian King Consort.

This woman was probably the Queen of Britain sacrificed in the blood ritual.

This realization was hard for Gu Xi to believe.

He had just seen how much respect British soldiers had for the royal family members.

Even the body of Eldest Princess Anna was respectfully carried and delivered, so how could the Queen have been beheaded and offered up as a sacrifice?

Yet Gu Xi couldn’t deny that the rumors were effective; while analyzing the situation, the opposing Yaliduvi Tower finally descended.

The two Yaliduvi Towers overlapped instantly, and the enemies appeared suddenly beside Gu Xi’s forces.

Fortunately, Gu Xi reacted promptly, and seeing the enemies emerge beside him, he first issued a Bone Spike while loudly commanding.

”All troops, attack!”
