Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 256: Chapter 254: Eldest Princess Anna

After entering the Magic Plant District, Gu Xi glanced around, and just as Luna had said, the Magic Plant District had changed due to the eerie sacrifice and an apple tree root.

What’s most conspicuous here is undoubtedly the giant tree root tendril stuck in the middle of the Evil Wood Lake in the Magic Plant District.

However, at this moment, this tree root tendril is already emitting a yellow-green aura.

Although Gu Xi hasn’t approached it yet, there is a feeling that this aura is beneficial to him and Yalidov City.

Therefore, he didn’t bother with it but instead sped up towards the city gate area.

Like the Main City Gate, a large number of soldiers were also gathered here at the Garrison Gate.

But their morale didn’t seem to be high.

When Gu Xi arrived, they only looked up at him, not surrounding him with questions as the soldiers at the Main City Gate did.

Gu Xi glanced at them, feeling somewhat displeased in his heart.

The reason he opened the city gate to save these people was to build some connections within Victoria City in the final moments.

Now, seeing them in this state, Gu Xi felt he had saved them in vain.

”How’s the situation? Are you all alright?”

Though he was displeased, Gu Xi still put on a proper face and jumped down from the Evil Coffin, asking seriously, ”Rest assured, I will try to contact Victoria and send you there.”

”Sir, forget it, there’s no need to send us there.”

At this point, a Holy Knight stood up and spoke.

This Holy Knight was at Level 10 at the least, clad in golden armor, with a white cloak draped over his back.

Gu Xi noticed that on his armor, the left shoulder guard was a lion’s head, and the right shoulder guard was an eagle’s head.

Gu Xi had seen this outfit from a distance before; it seemed to be the personal guard of Eldest Princess Anna.

But now, looking at his status, he didn’t appear as radiant as before.

”What happened?”

Gu Xi asked with a puzzled look.

The Holy Knight made a space for Gu Xi to see beyond, where he found a pale-faced Eldest Princess Anna lying by the city gate, her pierced chest no longer bleeding, but it was also clear that she was no longer breathing.

”This...”

Gu Xi didn’t expect it to end like this; he was at a loss for words momentarily.

At this moment, the Holy Knight patted Gu Xi and said, ”Thank you for giving us time with the Eldest Princess in her final moments; that is enough. Please open the city gate and send us back to Westminster Cathedral; we wish to fight once more for the Great Monarch.”

Saying this, the other soldiers also stood up, weapons in hand, looking seriously at Gu Xi.

Seeing them like this, Gu Xi hesitated for a second and said, ”Westminster Cathedral may not even still exist.”

At this point, Gu Xi suddenly thought of something, ”Right, did you see that tree root?”

Gu Xi pointed towards the Evil Wood Lake, ”That’s the one I took down, part of the tree root set with the eerie apple tree over at Westminster Cathedral.”

Upon hearing this, the Holy Knight grabbed Gu Xi’s clothes, ”What do you mean by this?”

”I want to say, perhaps there is a place better than Westminster Cathedral for you, but it’s somewhat dangerous; if you go, you might not return.”

”We were prepared to make our final charge for the Eldest Princess. What fear is there in death?”

The Holy Knight released his grip, and Gu Xi quickly backed away two steps.

”I won’t hide it from you; this is a Mirror Image Underground Palace, the city that James I once sacrificed, and the Great Monarch sealed in the Mirror Image Underground Palace has been looking for an opportunity to break the seal.”

From here, heading out into the mist, you can find the root of the Apple Village, which is also the mirrored Westminster Cathedral.

That’s where the culprit behind this calculation against Westminster Cathedral can be found.”

Listening to Gu Xi’s words, the Holy Knight remained silent, contemplating the truthfulness of what Gu Xi said.

”I don’t remember there being a forest in Victoria City before.”

”Try planting such a huge apple tree root at your place; your house will turn into a forest, even a great rainforest.”

Gu Xi pointed towards the city gate direction, ”I’ve shown you the way, whether you wish to risk your life or guard the Eldest Princess’s body here, please feel free.

Of course, if you want to return to Victoria City, I can also send you there.

But once you return, you might never be able to come back.”

The Holy Knight thought for a moment, then turned to look at a white-robed priest beside him.

This priest took out a thick-skinned book and solemnly told the Holy Knight, ”He was telling the truth just now.”

Then the Holy Knight turned to look at his other comrades.

They all held their weapons with smiles on their faces.

”Alright, we are ready to set off.”

The Holy Knight then said to Gu Xi, ”Please take Eldest Princess Anna’s body back to Victoria City and do not turn her into an Undead without her consent; otherwise, you will become an enemy of Britain.”

With this, the Holy Knight knelt on one knee in front of Eldest Princess Anna.

”Eldest Princess, I will fall on the path of the charge. If you can rise again, I’ll await your call in the Netherworld.”

With this, he lifted his weapon and headed towards the city gate.

Then another knight performed the same action.

Watching them kneel one by one by the Eldest Princess Anna, swearing, Gu Xi felt somewhat moved.

At this moment, the priest also came to Gu Xi, ”Send Eldest Princess Anna out the way she came in; no coffins needed, no other arrangements necessary.”

Having said his part, the priest also embraced his thick-skinned book and exited through the city gate.

Gu Xi stood nearby throughout the proceedings, waiting until all the knights had left the city gate before approaching Eldest Princess Anna.

This moment, Eldest Princess Anna appeared as if she were merely asleep, though her face was slightly pale.

In her hand, she clutched a small, unnamed flower from who knows where.

Watching Eldest Princess Anna for a moment, Gu Xi was still uncertain whether to return her body to Victoria City.

Gu Xi wasn’t overly concerned about returning her body.

His worry stemmed from sending the body back only to have another Eldest Princess Anna appear when the scenario restarted; that would be amusing.

Then the British Royal Family would have reason to have him executed.

However, looking at the back of the Holy Knight disappearing into the mist, Gu Xi felt somewhat hesitant.

This was the last wish of these warriors; Gu Xi saw no reason to deny it.

Thinking of this, Gu Xi stood up straight.

”Luna, bring the body; we’re preparing to return to Victoria City.”
