Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 742, The Final Trial

Translator: Silavin

At this moment, almost all the ice on the Frost Dragon King’s body was covered with cracks.

It appeared as though the ice were like fragile porcelain, needing only a gentle strike to be completely shattered.

However, this was not actually the case. To truly break through the ice, one would also need to similarly dismantle the ice on the Frost Dragon King’s Head.

The final trial was its head; it was also the last shackle to open the Ice Crystal Coffin.

Once it was opened, the Ice Crystal Coffin would be completely destroyed.

Lu Fan’s reason for leaving the Frost Dragon King’s Head as the final trial to clear was well-founded.

Because from the very beginning, he could tell that the Frost Dragon King’s Head was going to be the hardest challenge among the Seven Trials.

All the other Secret Realms’ Transport Arrays emanated milky white brilliance, but this one alone revealed azure light within its milky white radiance. Lu Fan could even sense astonishing coldness from it. One in which, even from a great distance, made him feel his blood running cold.

Even separated by the Transport Array, he could feel the chill from behind the Secret Realm. How could Lu Fan not know just how immense the difficulty of this trial at the Frost Dragon King’s Head would be?

Now, with only this one Secret Realm remaining, Lu Fan was finally going to unveil its true nature.

This time, Lu Fan remained exceptionally cautious, bringing only Xiao Cui and Ji Ji with him, while he himself transformed into his Golden Dragon King Form, ready to use his Golden Form Skill to evade Damage at any moment.

After stepping into the Transport Array, Lu Fan was transported to a new Map.

Just as Lu Fan had anticipated, this Secret Realm’s Map was completely different from before. The previous world of ice and snow had vanished entirely, replaced by a boundless icy surface.

The scenery here was somewhat similar to the Frost Dragon Icy Sky outside, where there was only ice on the ground, with no wind or snow. Lu Fan’s Spatial Awareness was not restricted in any way here, unlike before when heavy mist had obscured his vision, allowing him only to glimpse the Frost Dragon King’s massive form hidden within the fog, and even then only parts of its body.

Although his perception was not limited, and this Map’s environment seemed more suitable for battle, Lu Fan could clearly sense that this Map was far from simple.

The moment he was transported here, he felt a bone-chilling coldness as if he had fallen into an ice cave.

This coldness penetrated into the bones. Even having walked through the Far North for so long, he had never encountered such a frigid place.

Other areas of the Far North were cold, with winds like blade edges making every second spent outdoors pure torment. This Secret Realm did not have such harsh weather. It truly looked like an icy paradise, full of calm serenity as the air remained still, but beneath this harmonious surface lurked deadly intent. The shocking coldness made even Lu Fan, with his 100% Debuff Resistance, feel piercing cold entering his body.

When Lu Fan checked his status, he discovered that he had been afflicted with a Debuff for the first time ever, reducing all his Overall Speed by a full 50%!

Since acquiring his Pet Dragons, Lu Fan had never been afflicted with Debuffs, but now, simply entering a Map had caused one to be applied to him. This made Lu Fan understand that it was likely the Frost Dragon King’s Mechanics affecting him.

Indeed, although possessing 100% Debuff Resistance, when facing the Mechanics of Higher Grade Monsters, his Debuff Resistance was not absolute.

Of course, his High Debuff Resistance was not entirely useless either.

It was precisely because Lu Fan was here that he was only weakened by 50% in all his Speeds.

If other Players had come to take the Seven Trials, they might have already turned into ice sculptures by now.

Lu Fan exhaled streams of cold air, his teeth chattering uncontrollably.

Now, he just wanted to finish the battle quickly and escape from this ghastly place.

Because the coldness here stacked continuously. If a Player’s status were displayed as data with visible health bars, then Lu Fan’s Health Pool would definitely be constantly drained.

Moreover, the Slow Debuff brought by the coldness, like Ji Ji’s poison, would increasingly weaken Lu Fan’s Combat Power.

Therefore, quickly escaping this accursed place was the only choice.

Lu Fan had Xiao Cui cast Spring of Life on him, and indeed felt much better.

Then, he looked around, searching for where exactly the so-called Frost Dragon King’s Head was.

The surroundings were completely empty and utterly silent.

Just as Lu Fan was puzzled, wondering where the Frost Dragon King was, suddenly violent winds arose. Blade-like gusts stirred the coldness here, making the scales on Lu Fan’s body ring with crisp *ding ding ding* sounds as if attacked by wind blades.

Simultaneously, frost began condensing on Lu Fan’s body.

Sensing something, Lu Fan looked up and saw that at some point, a small black dot had appeared in the sky, continuously growing larger.

It seemed some massive creature was descending from a far higher altitude, heading straight for him.

As the dark shadow descended, drawing ever closer to him, Lu Fan clearly felt an enormous sense of oppression bearing down upon him.

Along with it came shocking coldness, making this place even more frigid.

This coldness was not merely a physical sensation, but a kind of psychological chill as well.

This oppressive feeling was unlike anything Lu Fan had ever experienced.

The closest comparison was the Devouring Dragon King.

But, even the Devouring Dragon King had never given Lu Fan such overwhelming pressure, because although the Devouring Dragon King was an Eternal Phase Dragon King, when Lu Fan encountered her. After all, she was already injured with barely one-tenth of her original strength, and her oppressive presence was similarly diminished.

This thing was different. In Lu Fan’s perception, it was a Dragon King at its absolute peak!

As the dark shadow gradually approached, Lu Fan could already see that it was indeed a living Frost Dragon King!

*Rumble…* The Frost Dragon King descended from the sky, landing not far from Lu Fan’s position.

The ice floor here must have been incredibly solid, because although such a massive body landing on it caused the earth to shake and mountains to tremble, it did not crack.

Lu Fan examined this Frost Dragon King. Indeed, it looked identical to the Frost Dragon King carcass outside, and this should be a projection of the original Frost Dragon King.

When Lu Fan used Appraisal to examine its Attributes, he could not help but be startled.

Because the Frost Dragon King’s Attribute Panel before him was filled entirely with ‘???’

[Is this Frost Dragon King above Level 150? Am I expected to battle a Dragon King at its full power once it reaches the Eternal Phase!?]

Lu Fan felt a great urge to leave the Secret Realm.
