Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 730, Frost Dragon Gaseous Corpse

Although Xing Chen’s Skills were powerful, these Ice Plains Worms undoubtedly were her counter.

It should be said that it was not that Xing Chen could not kill these Ice Plains Worms. Once she used the Skill, Shatter Star, she could easily crush these Ice Plains Worms.

The key issue was that the Skill Xing Chen and Lu Fan had been using to harvest Experience Points along the way was merely a Passive Skill.

How much damage could a Passive Skill really have?

In a way, it was to be expected for the Ice Plains Worms to be able to withstand those countless falling stars.

But this many Ice Plains Worms represented a massive amount of Experience Points for Lu Fan, Experience Points he naturally wouldn’t let go off so easily.

After thinking it over, he summoned Bao Bao, planning to have Bao Bao follow him and bombard their way through with Skills.

After all, Bao Bao’s Mana Pool was nearly infinite, so he could freely release Skills without cost.

Although Ice Plains Worms could Resist Physical Damage, they had no Resistance whatsoever to Magic Damage.

Therefore, Bao Bao did not even need to switch Forms. He could simply release Skills all the way through and crush them.

Bao Bao and Xing Chen were opposite extremes, where one was the extreme of Physical Attack, and another was the extreme of Magic Attack. Working together, no Monster could withstand their relentless bombardment.

The Experience Points provided by Ice Plains Worms were indeed plentiful. More importantly, their numbers were truly numerous.

Lu Fan could clearly feel that after Bao Bao joined the fight, his own Experience Bar jumped more vigorously, and he actually Levelled Up again very quickly.

Of course, with so many Ice Plains Worms, Lu Fan had no intention of keeping them as Fallen Corpse Puppets.

They were not like Red Ghosts, White Ghosts, or Ice Rock Giants.

The great weakness of these Ice Plains Worms, despite their large quantities, was that their bloated bodies were simply too cumbersome to move. Although they had some Skills related to the Ice Element, making them able to function as fixed gun turrets, expecting them to carry out carpet-style searches, which was what Lu Fan currently used his Fallen Corpse Puppets for, was just asking for the impossible.

As for refining them and converting them into Attributes, there really was not any use for them.

Although Ice Plains Worms had High Levels, their Attributes were actually quite ordinary. It really was not worth Lu Fan stopping first to turn them into Fallen Corpse Puppets then convert them into Attributes.

If he refined all these Ice Plains Worms, Lu Fan would probably have to stay in the Despair Ice Plains for a very long time.

Rather than that, it would be better to find Monsters with Higher Attributes to absorb, that would be more efficient.

While harvesting Ice Plains Worms, Lu Fan did not need to deliberately slow down his travelling speed.

So, while gaining massive Experience Points, Lu Fan’s travelling pace did not fall behind.

After advancing for about another two days, Lu Fan’s Level soared rapidly. He Levelled Up twice in succession, reaching Level 78.

At the same time, Lu Fan finally left the Despair Ice Plains Map and stepped into a new map called Frost Dragon Icy Sky.

The name ‘Frost Dragon Icy Sky’ immediately alerted Lu Fan that he definitely had not come to the wrong place. Before long, he should be able to officially reach the Frost Dragon Ruins.

Moreover, this Frost Dragon Icy Sky was extremely different from the Despair Ice Plains. The landscape of the Despair Ice Plains was actually quite similar to the Far North. Both had endless ice and snow, with heavy snowflakes constantly falling from the sky, and basically nothing but accumulated snow as far as the eye could see.

But here in Frost Dragon Icy Sky, there were no dancing snowflakes. On the contrary, there was not even any wind here. The environment looked considerably better than the Despair Ice Plains.

However, this was only how it appeared on the surface.

In reality, Lu Fan could clearly feel that the temperature in Frost Dragon Icy Sky was much, much lower than in the Far North and Despair Ice Plains.

Here, without enough Ice Element Resistance, one would probably be frozen to death in no time.

Only beings like Lu Fan and his Pet Dragon with 100% Debuff Resistance could come to a Map like Frost Dragon Icy Sky and still be completely unaffected.

So although the temperature here was far lower, Lu Fan still felt comfortable. More comfortable in fact.

After all, without blade-like heavy snowflakes hitting his face, the Frost Dragon Icy Sky was no different from blessed land for Lu Fan.

However, what disappointed him was that not only was there no endless ice and snow here, even Ice Plains Worms, the kind of Monster that hid in accumulated snow, were nowhere to be seen.

This empty ice surface, clear skies, and scenery devoid of anything made Lu Fan furrow his brow.

After thinking it over repeatedly, he slowed down and began to slowly continue exploring.

According to the records in the Frost Dragon Ruins Explorer’s Journal, the Frost Dragon Ruins were within this Frost Dragon Icy Sky, not far from Lu Fan’s current coordinates.

With the site right before his eyes, Lu Fan naturally had to be even more cautious.

Sure enough, this Frost Dragon Icy Sky was not as simple as it appeared to be.

He had barely advanced less than ten kilometres when suddenly, an ice-blue mist emerged from the icy layers ahead, slowly rising.

Seeing such a strange phenomenon, Lu Fan immediately stopped alongside Xing Chen and did not continue forward.

After a moment, that mist had become too big. Not only did it not dissipate, but it actually began to solidify. In no time at all, it had actually formed into a Giant Dragon!

Although this Giant Dragon looked like an Adult Giant Dragon in appearance, its size was about the same as Xing Chen.

Its body was like that of a spirit, semi-transparent, looking lifelike, but when it opened its mouth, it made no sound whatsoever. It was akin to a projection.

Lu Fan immediately used Appraisal on it and indeed obtained its Attributes.

[A Level 130 Gold Grade Boss named Frost Dragon Gaseous Corpse, an Undead Type Monster with ridiculously High Attributes. Ice Crystal Beast are children compared to this thing, despite only having a 10 Level difference.]

On Frost Dragon Gaseous Corpse’s Attribute Panel, there was also details about it, saying it was an Undead Type Monster formed from the rotting flesh of a dead Frost Dragon. It was extremely powerful, and Immune to Physical Attack.

After seeing this description, Lu Fan’s frown deepened.

Based on this information, he could easily deduce that the Frost Dragon here had already died. Otherwise, there would not be a Monster like the Frost Dragon Gaseous Corpse appearing.

Lu Fan had originally come here specifically for the Frost Dragon, wanting to Tame it with his Dragon Taming Skill, and make it his tenth Pet Dragon.

But now, it seemed he had arrived a step too late…

Even so, Lu Fan still felt that having come all this way, he should still find the Frost Dragon first. Whether alive or dead, he needed to see it first before making any other decision. Also, a Frost Dragon’s entire body was treasure in itself, even if he only obtained a carcass, he should still be able to gain something.
