Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 735, Ice Crystal Coffin

Translator: Silavin

“A Frost Dragon King!? You can’t be serious!!” Lu Fan was equally shocked.

He had initially thought that finding a Frost Dragon here would already be pushing it. He never expected a real Frost Dragon King to emerge!

If this Frost Dragon King was alive and hostile towards them, they would certainly be killed!

The Flame Dragon also wore a grave expression, nodding as he said. “There’s no way I could be mistaken. I’ve encountered Eternal Phase Frost Dragons before. Compared to the one before us, their presence pales in comparison. The only possibility is that this Frost Dragon is a Frost Dragon King. Otherwise, there’s absolutely no way to explain why it appears so different from ordinary Frost Dragons.”

Lu Fan examined this Dragon encased in ice and found this assessment must be true.

Though this Frost Dragon King merely lay on the ground, completely devoid of any Life Force, standing atop its head still evoked an indescribable sense of oppression, making one want to immediately flee.

This feeling far exceeded his first encounter with the Two Headed Dragon and the others.

The Two Headed Dragon was ultimately just an ordinary Adult Giant Dragon. Compared to real Dragon Kings, his oppressive presence was considerably weaker.

As they spoke, a Transport Array suddenly appeared above the Flame Dragon’s head.

Moreover, this Array possessed a suction force, causing the Flame Dragon’s body to uncontrollably ascend. Apparently, it was initiating a forced Transportation from this location.

Seeing this, the Flame Dragon quickly cautioned. “This Frost Dragon King carcass isn’t something easily obtainable. You must be careful. If you need anything, call me back.”

“Understood, no problem. Return to Shadow Isle first and rest.” Lu Fan waved, bidding farewell to the Flame Dragon.

The Flame Dragon was soon absorbed into the Transport Array, completely vanishing from this place.

Now, it was time to address the Frost Dragon King carcass before him.

The Frost Dragon King’s presence was terrifyingly overwhelming, but Bao Bao, who was beneath Lu Fan, was also a Dragon King. So, the impact on him was not that severe.

Had Bao Bao been an ordinary Ice Crystal Beast, Griffin, or other Sky Mounts, they would likely be too frightened to maintain their flight.

Lu Fan rode Bao Bao, cautiously descending into the depths beneath what used to be a ground made of ice.

The massive ice formation had completely collapsed and shattered, falling beside the Frost Dragon King.

As Lu Fan delved into this abyss, he could observe the surrounding ice layer of unknown thickness.

The Frost Dragon King carcass was sealed within thick azure blue ice. Circling this impossibly massive ice formation, one could appreciate its appearance from when this Frost Dragon King was still alive.

The Frost Dragon King’s appearance differed from any of Lu Fan’s Pet Dragons. Its entire form resembled a pristine ice block, clear and transparent, appearing like an exquisite diamond, pure white and flawless.

Its Physique was not filled with strength like Xing Chen, but rather resembled Bao Bao. Clearly, it was a Magic Attack Specialised Dragon, skilled in using Dragon Language Magic to assault its enemies.

After flying a complete circuit around the Frost Dragon King carcass, Lu Fan encountered no danger, nor did he spot any Monsters, items, or similar objects.

It was as though this Frost Dragon King carcass was merely a background element, serving no functional purpose.

However, Lu Fan noticed that his current location had automatically changed to ‘Frost Dragon Ruins’. This clearly indicates this Map was not as simple as it appeared to be.

This was a massive Frost Dragon King, preserved within even tougher ice. It truly left Lu Fan uncertain as to how he should proceed.

Even if he transformed into his Golden Dragon King Form, he would not be able to move something of this magnitude.

As for using Transport Arrays to Transport it back to Shadow Isle, that was pure fantasy.

Perhaps with the Two Headed Dragon and the others working together, might they manage to move this huge ice block.

But the crucial issue was that Shadow Isle’s Transport Array had limits to its size as well, and the Frost Dragon King carcass clearly exceeded those limits.

In short, Lu Fan had no means of using Transport Arrays to send it back to Shadow Isle.

As for carrying it all the way back to Shadow Isle by flight…

This task was close to impossible. Regardless of how many Forbidden Areas like the Falling Star Ice Lake they had traversed through, it was already hopeless based on distance alone. After all, even with the assistance of those Giant Dragons, it would require two to three years to return.

[Is its carcass only to be observed, serving no practical purpose?] Lu Fan could not help but feel frustrated.

He believed the key lay in understanding what he could do with this carcass, whether he could break open the azure blue ice to truly obtain its remains.

Or perhaps he could gain other opportunities and fortunes from this place?

In any case, having gone through tremendous hardships to reach this location, he could not return empty-handed.

Just as Lu Fan circled the Frost Dragon King carcass, uncertain of how to proceed, the Devouring Dragon King’s voice resonated in his mind. “Your luck is truly remarkable. To think you’ve actually obtained the carcass of a Frost Dragon King!”

Seeing that the Devouring Dragon King was once again sharing his visual perspective, Lu Fan realised that seeking out her assistance might be the wisest choice.

Therefore, he immediately used spiritual connection to converse with her. “Yeah, sure I’ve found it, but if we’re talking about ‘obtaining’ it, I don’t think that’s the right word to put it…”

“It is so massive, I have no idea how to ‘obtain’ it. Since you’re extremely knowledgeable about Giant Dragons, do you understand what is going on?”

The Devouring Dragon King replied matter-of-factly. “What other situation could it be? This Frost Dragon King died and sealed itself in ice before death. Us Giant Dragons, especially Dragon Kings, will never allow other lower lifeforms to defile our bodies, even in death. So, once we die, we’ll adopt certain measures to either destroy our remains or protect them. In any case, we won’t let others obtain them.”

“This Frost Dragon King is merely following the same principle. But it’s not doing this with the intention to prevent its carcass from being damaged by others. Otherwise, it would not preserve its remains in this manner, appearing as though intended as a gift for others.”

“Oh?” Lu Fan detected implications in the Devouring Dragon King’s words. [So that’s why the ice above was not absolutely impossible to break through. If it had applied the same azure blue ice, it might have truly been impossible for us to come to this point.]

“So, you’re saying that the ice encasing its body is not entirely impenetrable?”

The Devouring Dragon King hummed affirmatively. “Correct. If it truly wished to seal itself using its Ice Crystal Coffin Skill, this ice should have been red instead. Moreover, the frigid temperature would extend for tens of thousands of kilometres, transforming the entire Map into a Forbidden Area where no one could enter.”

“If it is a red Ice Crystal Coffin, even a Dragon King like myself, at peak strength, would find it troublesome to break open, because such things are essentially meant to be impossible to open. But the current Ice Crystal Coffin serves a different function and can be opened at any time.”
