Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 740, The Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw

Translator: Silavin

Even with Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons’ Damage Output, it took them quite some time to force the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw to cover itself with its Arm Guard thrice, breaking each Arm Guard in sequence, before finally managing to defeat the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw.

Moreover, after shattering the Arm Guard for the third time, Lu Fan did not hesitate to have Bao Bao unleash his Dragon Language Forbidden Spell, World Destroying Heavenly Lightning.

Only through such immense Burst Damage could he obliterate the right claw before it could form its fourth Arm Guard. Else, Lu Fan would have had to spend even more time and effort to Clear the Trial.

The Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw was formidable precisely because its defensive capabilities were Heaven Defying. In truth, its Damage Output was nothing much to speak of, and its attack patterns were rather monotonous.

Therefore, after Lu Fan transformed into his Golden Dragon King Form, he alone could completely withstand its assault. As for the Pet Dragons, they just needed to focus on Damage Output. In a way, this battle was ultimately manageable despite its dangers.

Still, it had to be said that only someone like Lu Fan could have accomplished this. Had it been any other Player, they would have likely been overwhelmed by the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw long ago.

After all, who else could withstand the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw’s attacks while simultaneously delivering such High Damage?

Simply breaking through the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw’s Arm Guard was already a formidable challenge, let alone ensuring one’s Damage Output exceeded the Frost Dragon King’s Recovery Speed.

In any case, Lu Fan had defeated the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw and had experienced the difficulty of the Seven Trials.

Though the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw was a Mythical Grade Monster of the same Level as himself, after this exchange, he could clearly sense that in certain aspects, the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw possessed power far exceeding that of typical Mythical Grade beings of the same Level.

For instance, its Defence and Recovery Speed exceed that of Level 100 Mythical Grade Monsters!

However, it was relatively weaker in other areas. For example, it lacked powerful Attacks or Area of Effect Skills.

Even the Crowd Control Skill that the Frost Dragon Clan prided themselves in had not been shown here.

Though, had all of such abilities been displayed, the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw would definitely not be as simple as Level 78.

Lu Fan’s strength was already formidable, and coupled with his Pet Dragons being Dragon Kings, their combined assault would not lose out to a lone Mythical Grade being of the same Level and Grade.

Therefore, clearing the Seven Trials should not pose a significant issue—at least in theory.

Of course, he could not become complacent, as the Monsters in the Seven Trials possessed abilities in certain aspects that far exceeded those of same Level Mythical Grade Monsters.

Should this enhanced capability happen to target Lu Fan’s weaknesses, he could still lose.

With the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw vanquished, the first trial of the Seven Trials was officially Cleared.

All the wind and snow within the Secret Realm completely vanished. The silhouette of the Frost Dragon King in the dense mist also disappeared. The Secret Realm became a blank white expanse, leaving only the exit, a Transport Array, before Lu Fan.

Lu Fan strode directly through it without delay.

As Lu Fan emerged, he was transported back to beside the Frost Dragon King carcass.

Upon emerging, he discovered that the ice on the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw showed signs of cracking. With a series of crisp *crack* sounds, the Ice Crystal Coffin covering the right claw seemed to have loosened. The ice was riddled with fractures, appearing ready to shatter at the slightest touch.

However, when Lu Fan attempted to attack this crack-filled ice, he found that although the Ice Crystal Coffin had loosened, he still could not manage to break through it.

This made sense. If passing one trial of the Seven Trials allowed full release of that portion of the Ice Crystal Coffin, wouldn’t he be able to somehow remove the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw and leave? That way, he could abandon the incomplete Dragon Carcass here and still get what he wanted.

The Frost Dragon King clearly did not want such a scenario to occur. It sought someone sufficiently powerful to inherit its entire remains in one go.

Although he could not immediately free the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw, Lu Fan was not anxious. After all, he did not intend to obtain merely the right claw. He wanted the whole thing.

He was going to pass all Seven Trials!

With this thought, excitement surged through Lu Fan’s heart once more. Without resting, he began selecting the next trial.

The Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw Secret Realm had already closed, leaving Lu Fan with six remaining options.

After consideration, Lu Fan decided to proceed to the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw.

He reasoned that the left and right claws were quite similar, and the Trial content might be nearly identical.

Having just gained experience clearing the right claw, attempting the left claw while his momentum was still hot seemed to be the best choice.

Thus, he flew toward the left claw’s Secret Realm.

Upon entering the Secret Realm, indeed, as Lu Fan had anticipated, the scene he faced was almost identical to the previous Secret Realm.

A massive left claw extended through the mist, standing before Lu Fan.

Lu Fan showed no courtesy. Following his experience from dealing with the right claw, he transformed into his Golden Dragon King Form while summoning all his Pet Dragons, preparing to dish out all the Damage they could.

However, in the next second, something beyond his expectation had occurred.

The Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw did not don an Arm Guard. Instead, it spread open its palm, with a rotating and expanding ice-snow storm materialising in its palm!

This left claw possessed completely different characteristics from the right claw!

Noticing the left claw’s anomaly, Lu Fan reacted with extraordinary speed. He immediately had Xiao Cui use Jade Mirror Image on all the Pet Dragons, positioning the Mirror Image Projections at the front.

Simultaneously, he recalled all the Pet Dragons, leaving only Xiao Cui and Ji Ji, whose Physical Bodies need not be worried about.

Just as Lu Fan finished his preparations, the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw hurled the ice-snow storm from its palm.

Instantly, the ice-snow storm expanded dramatically, sweeping toward Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons at tremendous speed!

The frontmost Pet Dragon Mirror Image Projections responded with their Skills, yet they could not halt this ice-snow storm. They merely weakened its power a little before being consumed by it.

The ice-snow storm’s frigid temperature and razor-sharp snowflakes made it function like a meat grinder. After the Pet Dragons’ Mirror Image Projections were drawn in, they were systematically shredded.

Witnessing this scene, Lu Fan realised that the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw’s special trait was its Ice Element Skills!

Moreover, these were not Crowd Control Skills, but Magic Attack Skills!

Watching the Pet Dragons’ Mirror Image Projections being directly annihilated by the ice-snow storm, Lu Fan truly wanted to curse.

[Who said the Frost Dragon Clan specialises in Crowd Control? With Skills of this magnitude, you’re telling me they specialise in Crowd Control and not Magic Damage!?]
