Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 734, It’s Actually…?!

As it turned out, the Flame Dragon replied directly. “Of course, I’d be more than delighted to do so.”

Lu Fan’s expression shifted, and the Flame Dragon seemed to notice this situation, explaining to Lu Fan. “My Flame Dragon Clan and Frost Dragon Clan have what you might call a blood feud. Previously, there seems to have been some irreconcilable conflict between a Flame Dragon King and a Frost Dragon King, so wherever Flame Dragons and Frost Dragons encounter each other, there is bound to be hostility.”

“Of course, because it’s been far too long ago, I’ve only heard about this matter through hearsay, and I don’t know whether it’s true or false. But the fact remains. Also, I have an instinctive revulsion towards Frost Dragons, so if you ask me to dig up one of their carcasses, I’m naturally delighted to do so.”

“So that’s how it is…” After hearing this, Lu Fan found it rather mystical.

In this world, within the same species, there truly existed ‘blood feuds’ that affected subsequent generations.

Lu Fan wondered whether this matter was related to the original Frost Dragon King and Flame Dragon King. If it truly was related, then it must be said that Dragon Kings’ ability to control World Mechanics was truly too powerful.

[To think even Eternal Phase Giant Dragon descendants would be affected by their influence.]

This matter was not something Lu Fan needed to think too deeply about. So, after a brief thought, he no longer paid it any mind.

With the Flame Dragon’s assistance, this ice layer should no longer pose any difficulty for Lu Fan.

As long as this Frost Dragon was not a Dragon King, having the Flame Dragon dig up its grave should not be a major problem.

After reaching an agreement with the Flame Dragon, Lu Fan gave way to the Flame Dragon, allowing him to burn through the ice below.

The Flame Dragon told Lu Fan to retreat further back, then prostrated himself on the ground. The flames on his body burnt more fiercely than before.

The next second, towering flames suddenly rose, shooting straight into Heaven!

The soaring blaze instantly turned the clear sky a fiery red.

Lu Fan could also clearly feel the surrounding temperature instantly rise. That ice, which was harder than steel, began showing signs of melting under the high temperature.

Of course, what suffered the most severe impact was the portion of ice directly beneath the Flame Dragon’s body.

The Flame Dragon’s Skill directly burned away the ice, and the ice began melting frantically at a speed visible to the naked eye.

It must be said, the Flame Dragon truly lived up to being an Eternal Phase Giant Dragon. Its speed in breaking through the ice layer was dozens of times faster than Xiao Ye!

As flames continuously surged downward, scorching the ice below, a massive deep pit gradually appeared, extending downward. At the same time, the massive ice layer beneath Lu Fan’s feet seemed to have suffered heavy Damage, developing crack after crack.

These cracks were unfathomably deep. Looking down, Lu Fan could see these cracks extending downward at least several hundred metres, reaching deep into the ice layer where even his sight could barely reach.

Wave after wave of scalding water vapour evaporated outward from beneath the Flame Dragon’s body, instantly transforming into a thick fog that enveloped an area of dozens of kilometres, reducing the visibility to less than ten metres.

This was enough to show just how terrifying the Flame Dragon’s Skill was, and how ridiculous the thickness of the ice layer was.

Even so, although the ice layer was continuously scorched, there was still no sign of it being broken through, which made Lu Fan’s brows furrow.

The Flame Dragon used his Skills to burn for a full three minutes or so. With his body as the centre, the ice within about a kilometre radius had been scorched into a deep pit.

The pit was extremely deep. Although water vapour pervaded from within, Lu Fan could still sense that even at a depth of at least two thousand metres, they were not done.

[To think the ice here is so thick! This is terrifying!]

At this time, the flames on the Flame Dragon’s body were obviously not as vigorous as before.

It should be said that it was not the Flame Dragon that lacked strength. Rather, because he had been summoned by a Dragon Scale, he could only remain here for a maximum of five minutes.

Now, there was not much time left before he would be forcibly Transported back, and even his Skill release was becoming somewhat strained.

The Flame Dragon understood this point. Seeing that the ice layer still showed no end, he naturally could not bring himself to admit that he was inferior to whatever Frost Dragon that had laid down this ice.

Thus, he said to Lu Fan. “The time I can stay here is almost up. If I get Transported back and still can’t melt through the ice, you should activate the Territory Transportation, and transport me back here. A mere Frost Dragon! Hmph! With my Skills, I can definitely break through!”

The Flame Dragon’s refusal to admit defeat left Lu Fan both amused and exasperated.

He could not very well undermine his pride, so he was about to nod in agreement, promising to activate a Transport Array again later to summon him here.

Without the restriction of time, the Flame Dragon should be able to break through the ice layer.

Just as Lu Fan was about to speak, the Flame Dragon suddenly exclaimed with great joy. “Oh! That seems to no longer be needed. I’ve broken through!”

As the Flame Dragon’s words fell, Lu Fan immediately felt violent trembling from the ice layer beneath his feet.

Simultaneously, the *crack* sounds of ice fracturing followed like thunder.

Massive fissures visible to the naked eye instantly spread across every part of the ground. Accompanied by earth-shaking sounds. In short, the whole ground was beginning to collapse, falling downward!

Lu Fan could not maintain his footing on the ice. He immediately mounted Bao Bao, having him fly into the air.

Not only him, the Flame Dragon also stopped releasing Skills, spread his wings and flew up, looking down at everything here.

Moments later, the ice frantically shattered and fell. The ground within dozens of kilometres completely collapsed, revealing a sinkhole like abyss.

Lu Fan had not expected that beneath the several thousand metres thick ice layer, there would still be such an enormous space.

He looked down into this abyss. Only after all the ice had fallen and light had penetrated into the depths could he see what exactly existed below.

In the massive space below lay the carcass of a Frost Dragon whose body was far more enormous than even the Flame Dragon!

This Frost Dragon’s carcass was wrapped in thick ice blocks, like a small insect in amber.

However, using the term ‘small insect’ to describe such a terrifying existence was indeed quite inappropriate.

Still, this ice on the Frost Dragon’s carcass was different from the ice that the Flame Dragon had broken through.

The ice on its body was entirely azure blue, like a gemstone. It was obviously not ordinary ice. The Flame Dragon’s Skills most likely would not be able to break through it.

Upon seeing this Frost Dragon, the Flame Dragon was greatly shocked, and uttered a sentence that also astonished Lu Fan. “That… is actually a Frost Dragon King!?”
