Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 724, Ice Rock Giants

Jian Ying’s confidence surged as she eagerly wanted to follow along and witness the formidable power of the Ice Crystal Beast firsthand.

She was not alone in this sentiment. Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu shared the same enthusiasm, both yearning to experience what it felt like to ride an Ice Crystal Beast.

Han Ke laughed and suggested he could take them one by one to the edge of Shadow Isle to hunt Monsters.

Shadow Isle was now a Territory, and Han Ke and the others had been designated as Territory Guests by Lu Fan. This meant they would not face any attacks from the ‘Territory Defensive Measures’ while on the island. It also included Monsters, which would not be Actively Hostile against them.

Only if they actively attacked the Monsters would they retaliate.

Therefore, Lu Fan naturally felt at ease allowing them to roam freely around Shadow Isle.

The girls had been on Shadow Isle for quite some time, frequently cooperating to hunt the local Monsters for Experience Points. They perfectly understood the strength of the island’s Monsters.

So Lu Fan naturally felt comfortable letting them frolic about with the Ice Crystal Beast as they pleased. If anything urgent arose, they could simply call upon the four Giant Dragons on the island.

The four Giant Dragons were essentially their neighbours, often coming to Shadow Fortress to freeload on food and drink. Both parties had long since become well-acquainted.

It could be said that Han Ke and the others faced absolutely no possibility of accidents on Shadow Isle.

Considering he still needed to return to the Far North to search for the Frost Dragon Ruins, Lu Fan did not linger here for long.

After informing Qin Qiu and Tao Xiaoman that he would try to capture several more Ice Crystal Beasts so each of them could obtain this Extra Pet, he used the Transport Array to return to Despair Ice Plains.

Learning of the existence of these special Ice Crystal Beasts, Lu Fan’s journey became less urgent than before. Instead, he made every effort to patrol the surrounding areas thoroughly, hoping to find other Ice Crystal Beasts.

To Lu Fan’s disappointment, most of the nearby Monsters were still Red Ghosts, along with creatures called Ice Rock Giants.

Ice Rock Giants resembled giant apes composed of ice crystals, with massive frames roughly three times the size of Red Ghosts.

These Monsters were also Elite Grade Monsters. They have High Attack, High Defence, and High Health Pools. In a way, they were even more troublesome than Red Ghosts.

However, before Lu Fan, they still faced instant death.

Lu Fan held a particular distaste for these Monsters.

Unlike Red Ghost packs that appeared in hundreds at once, allowing him to unleash Skills for a complete sweep and gain massive Experience Points in one go, Ice Rock Giants were solitary creatures. This made them rather worthless to Lu Fan.

Calling them straight up worthless seemed harsh, as their Experience Points were indeed substantial. But calling them useful felt excessive, as encountering just one was not worth Lu Fan’s time and effort to eliminate it.

Therefore, whenever Lu Fan encountered Ice Rock Giants, he pretended not to see them. If Starfall’s Area of Effect just happened to encompass them, he would simply end up killing them for the Experience Points.

If they fell outside the range, he would ignore them. He simply could not be bothered with detours.

Beyond Red Ghosts and Ice Rock Giants, Lu Fan encountered no other Monsters.

Only then did he understand that Ice Crystal Beasts truly differed from Red Ghosts and Ice Rock Giants.

They were likely Bosses on this Map, or perhaps Rare Monsters. Encountering one was already an extraordinarily fortunate event.

Hoping to find them as frequently as Red Ghosts, appearing every few steps, was pure fantasy.

After a day of searching, Lu Fan found no second Ice Crystal Beast.

Lu Fan prepared to abandon this pursuit and focus on locating the Frost Dragon Ruins first.

Perhaps ahead, he might encounter Extra Pets similar to Ice Crystal Beasts, or even superior ones.

However, just as Lu Fan prepared to leave, he finally discovered another pack of Red Ghosts that had been slaughtered, their death wounds identical to those killed by the previous Ice Crystal Beast.

They had all been annihilated by Ice Roar, their flesh shattered with ice fragments embedded in the wounds.

Witnessing this scene filled Lu Fan with delight.

[Is this my lucky day? To think I would stumble upon another of these rare Ice Crystal Beasts.]

Lu Fan wasted no time, immediately opening his Puppet Sub-Space and releasing hundreds of Fallen Corpse Puppets to search the vicinity, hoping to pinpoint the Ice Crystal Beast’s location.

After two hours of searching, Lu Fan achieved results!

The Fallen Corpse Puppet, Jin Zaixi, had encountered an Ice Crystal Beast, and got instantly annihilated in a single exchange.

Jin Zaixi was one of Lu Fan’s Fourth Profession Fallen Corpse Puppets under his command, previously possessing considerable strength, but now gradually failing to meet Lu Fan’s requirements.

The destruction of this Fallen Corpse Puppet did not particularly concern Lu Fan. Discovering the Ice Crystal Beast filled him with excitement instead.

Immediately, Lu Fan rushed towards the Ice Crystal Beast’s location. A mere twenty minutes later, using Xiao Ye’s Black Dragon Pressure, the second Ice Crystal Beast was directly stunned unconscious. Lu Fan then dragged it by its hind legs back to Shadow Isle.

At this time on Shadow Isle, Han Ke and the others were having a lot of fun playing with the Ice Crystal Beast.

Everyone remained curious regarding the Ice Crystal Beast, their interest undiminished.

Moreover, Han Ke had reportedly taken everyone on Ice Crystal Beast rides to hunt several Monsters, with unanimous praise for its formidable power.

Not only did its Skill Power prove impressive, but its Crowd Control was exceptional.

The primary weakness of these girls when grinding Solo was Crowd Control.

Among all of them, virtually none possessed Crowd Control Skills, relying solely on Jian Ying’s Ocean Freezing Sword for Crowd Control.

Now, the Ice Crystal Beast had directly addressed their shortcoming.

Even without Lu Fan in future, they would possess respectable Combat Power.

Seeing Lu Fan return with yet another Ice Crystal Beast, the girls went absolutely wild with joy.

One Ice Crystal Beast had already evolved their Team’s capabilities. Adding another would be extraordinary!

This time, after Lu Fan released control over Ice Crystal Beast No. 2, and this one clearly expressed affection towards Jian Ying.

Thus, the second Ice Crystal Beast became Jian Ying’s Extra Pet, leaving Qin Qiu and Tao Xiaoman enviously fractured.

However, Lu Fan assured them that with a second, there would be a third. Within two days, he would certainly bring back two more Ice Crystal Beasts.

Returning once again to Despair Ice Plains, Lu Fan had gained experience in capturing Ice Crystal Beasts.

How, he knew he could utilise his Fallen Corpse Puppets.

Lu Fan possessed numerous Fallen Corpse Puppets. Once he had them dispersed, they could rapidly conduct carpet-style searches to locate Ice Crystal Beasts.

Although his Fallen Corpse Puppets’ strength had fallen behind, making many unable to survive on the Despair Ice Plains, they were resources that he could obtain in any quantity he so desired.

Simply eliminating some Red Ghosts and Ice Rock Giants would allow him to craft them into Fallen Corpse Puppets for seeking out Ice Crystal Beasts.
