Chapter 702, The Three Legged Golden Crow

The crowd below erupted with excitement, shouting loudly to show their support for Tangun.

They already knew that Cherry Blossom Country’s target was Extremistis Country. Because of this, many had been worried about what would happen to them if Kage Tenshi truly brought the Four Patriarchs to Extremistis Country and took over the nation.

If they did not betray Tangun and instead submit to Kage Tenshi, these people would either be driven out or killed. There was no other alternative.

But if they submitted to Kage Tenshi, Tangun certainly would not spare any traitors.

So for this group, the final and best outcome would be to wander in foreign lands without any foundation, watching their Families’ centuries of accumulated wealth turn to nothing.

The hatred these people felt towards Kage Tenshi went without saying.

Now their crisis was resolved, and Tangun was even leading them to conquer Cherry Blossom Country. Was this not a tremendous opportunity for them!?

Tangun was satisfied with his subordinates’ reaction. He nodded and continued in a loud voice. “In three days, we shall attack Cherry Blossom Country. When that time comes, wherever we pass, anyone who dares resist will be killed without mercy!”

“I, Tangun, will hereafter control both Extremistis Country and Cherry Blossom Country. Among you, whoever performs well in this campaign, I shall make him ruler of Cherry Blossom Country to govern it in my stead!”

As soon as these words were spoken, many eyes immediately lit up with excitement.

However, just as the crowd’s excitement reached its peak, a Transport Array suddenly opened without warning above everyone’s heads.

This sudden change caused many present to freeze, then take defensive positions facing the Transport Array.

The Extremistis Palace was an extremely secretive location in Extremistis Country. Simultaneously, it was a Forbidden Area of the nation.

No matter who it was, no one was allowed to open a Transport Array in the Extremistis Palace, after all, this was where Tangun resided.

Since the other party had opened a Transport Array here without any concern, it was clear they came with ill intent.

After the Transport Array opened, flames immediately gushed forth from within, causing even Tangun’s face to change as he retreated backwards, not daring to touch these flames.

Following this, a bird’s cry came from within the flames, with extremely strong penetrating power. It caused everyone present to show expressions of pain as they frantically retreated.

A bird completely bathed in golden flames flew out from the fire. Its form was not particularly large, but the sense of oppression it gave was extremely strong.

This bird closely resembled a Phoenix, but had significant differences from a Phoenix.

The greatest difference was that it had three claws.

[Three claws? A Three Legged Golden Crow!?]

Tangun immediately knew the other party’s identity, his expression becoming even uglier.

“To think Extremistis Country also wants to take over Cherry Blossom Country!?” The Three Legged Golden Crow circled once in mid-air before finally hovering there.

The Three Legged Golden Crow’s body gradually merged into golden flames, constantly flickering. Faintly visible within was a Human figure standing with hands behind his back, looking down at everyone present.

“Elder Jin, long time no see!” Tangun looked coldly at this person, gritting his teeth as he forced these words out through a clenched jaw.

After Tangun spoke these words, everyone present was greatly shocked. They now come to understand this person’s identity: he was one of Dragon Country’s Three Elders, Elder Jin!

Ordinary people might not know much, but those present were all important figures in Extremistis Country. They naturally knew about Dragon Country’s Three Elders, and their identities.

Among Dragon Country’s Three Elders, Elder Han managed national affairs, with all of Dragon Country’s matters, large and small, personally handled by him.

Elder Lu was a world-class Engineer whose crafted Engineered Items were the world’s strongest, bar none.

The first two did not have particularly great Combat Power to speak of. So, when travelling, they were always protected by powerful Players.

But the last of Dragon Country’s Three Elders needed no one’s protection.

Because this Elder Jin was himself a world-class Player!

As for exactly how strong he was, no one knew, because whenever he took action, it was impossible for opponents to survive.

Only one thing was certain: throughout Dragon Country, the strongest openly acknowledged was not Tu Jing, but Elder Jin.

Years ago, South Country actually had a super expert who had been lying low, someone who Tangun was acquainted with.

Tangun knew this person’s strength was not inferior to his own.

Later, when Dragon Country went to war with South Country, Tangun believed that Tu Jing alone would not be enough to defeat South Country.

After all, the South Country’s ruler was personally supported by that super expert, and represented his reputation. At the crucial moment, that super expert would inevitably take action, defeat Tu Jing, and preserve the South Country’s Royal Family.

The result?

Tu Jing led his army southward, beating the South Country into complete disarray, finally even sitting on the ruler’s bed with his sword at the ruler’s throat, forcing him to sign a surrender treaty.

From beginning to end, that person never appeared.

Initially, Tangun thought he had merely wanted to avoid fighting Dragon Country, so temporarily suffered the loss of face and endured the humiliation.

But later he discovered that ever since Dragon Country’s war with South Country, this super expert had never appeared again.

Tangun had once visited his residence, wanting to ask why he had not taken action.

When he arrived, he saw that the residence had become ruins, as if it had experienced an extremely severe fire. That super expert, along with his followers, had all vanished without a trace, as if they had evaporated.

This scene reminded Tangun of similar situations that had occurred before.

Whenever super experts threatened Dragon Country’s security, these super experts’ locations would turn to ruins, leaving only ash and charcoal.

Who else but Elder Jin could have done this?

So, although Tangun was not clear about how strong Elder Jin was, he did not want to find out. Because he feared that after knowing, he too would end up like his friend, dying with only ashes remaining.

Seeing Elder Jin tear open a Transport Array to arrive here, Tangun felt his legs growing somewhat weak.

Within the golden flames, Elder Jin seemed to smile slightly, saying. “Tangun, long time no see. I didn’t expect that when we reunite, it would be under such circumstances. I just heard you want to lead your people to Cherry Blossom Country and take over it. Is this true?”

Tangun’s forehead broke out in cold sweat as he steeled himself. “In… indeed so. Previously, Cherry Blossom Country’s Four Patriarchs made a high-profile appearance under Kage Tenshi’s leadership. They obviously want to take over our Extremistis Country. Now that Cherry Blossom Country is in chaos, this is the perfect opportunity for me to use their own methods against them.”

After a pause, thinking of Elder Jin’s purpose in coming here, his expression immediately became extremely ugly. “Could it be that Dragon Country also intends to take this opportunity to conquer Cherry Blossom Country?”
