Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 703, Handle it Yourself

“It’s not that we intended to,” Elder Jin’s voice carried a hint of threat, “but we’ve already done it. After all, Kage Tenshi is dead, along with their Four Patriarchs.”

Elder Jin’s subsequent words caused Tangun’s expression to shift.

Though he had anticipated this outcome, since Kage Tenshi and the Four Patriarchs had been conspicuously absent under such dire circumstances, hearing Elder Jin confirm their deaths still struck him hard.

After all, Tangun intimately understood how strong Kage Tenshi was. That man was undoubtedly amongst the world’s strongest.

Among Players, those capable of defeating Kage Tenshi were exceedingly rare.

His prolonged absence, even as Cherry Blossom Country suffered assaults from Giant Dragons, indicated he had encountered trouble from which he could not escape from.

Yet now, being told that Kage Tenshi and the Four Patriarchs had truly perished… this was truly difficult for Tangun to accept.

Naturally, given that Elder Jin was the one making such a declaration, it must be the truth. A figure of Elder Jin’s stature had no need for deception. After all, he was someone with considerable status and background. Should his lies be exposed, his reputation would suffer.

“Why did they die?” Tangun asked in confusion. “Could it be that Dragon Country intervened…”

[In Dragon Country, only Elder Jin or a Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Family possess the capability to eliminate Kage Tenshi.] This was what Tangun speculated.

“More or less,” Elder Jin nodded. “But it was not me who acted, rather one of our own people. A man who had some grievances with Kage Tenshi. When Kage Tenshi brought his people over to cause him trouble, they were all killed.”

“What… What?! He killed them all!?” Tangun exclaimed in shock. “Is this person a Patriarch of a Supreme Tier Ancient Noble Family?”

Elder Jin replied directly. “No comment.”

“I can only tell you that he is absolutely someone you cannot afford to provoke. Moreover, he’s a Hero of Dragon Country. After killing Kage Tenshi, he further assisted Dragon Country by eliminating numerous super experts in Cherry Blossom Country, who had been laying low.”

“The assault by Giant Dragons, the event that caused countless super experts to perish, was all his doing. His goal was to weaken them so Dragon Country could subjugate Cherry Blossom Country. I believe you already have an inkling to this. Or, do you truly believe Cherry Blossom Country’s calamity was purely a natural disaster?”

“It’s merely a part of Dragon Country’s overall plan. Now that Cherry Blossom Country has been weakened by my country, you wish to interfere? Do you think that is appropriate?”

Elder Jin’s words plunged Tangun into contemplative silence.

After a long pause, he said with forced bravado. “I can’t simply take your word alone, can I? Currently, Cherry Blossom Country’s national strength is depleted. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring them into our fold. I was about to act, but now you’re attributing all those super experts’ death to Dragon Country, demanding I abandon my plan. This is difficult to believe.”

“Surely I don’t have to accept it just because you claim to have killed those super experts? What if Cherry Blossom Country truly suffered a natural disaster, and Dragon Country simply wanted to devour them whole while preventing my involvement? That would be impossible! Cherry Blossom Country is an abundant pie, and we Extremistis Country must claim our own share!”

“Hehe!” Seeing Tangun maintain such an attitude, insisting on interfering, Elder Jin did not express his anger or rage, but laughed instead.

“You should understand in your heart that I wouldn’t lie about such matters. As one of the Three Elders, I wouldn’t stoop so low as to claim natural disasters as my country’s own achievement. In any case, I’m merely here to inform you, to let you know exactly who orchestrated Cherry Blossom Country’s fate. If you truly don’t believe it, you’re welcome to step foot and intervene. But, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Should Extremistis Country interfere, and those Giant Dragons arrive in Extremistis Country next, your nation would not be able to withstand the turmoil!”

After speaking, Elder Jin paused before laughing again. “Thinking about it this way, I’m looking forward to you bringing your people over. Subjugating just Cherry Blossom Country is one thing, but subjugating both Cherry Blossom Country and Extremistis Country would be quite interesting. Perhaps this time, Dragon Country’s territory will expand even further!”

As his words concluded, golden flames ignited around Elder Jin’s body once more, transforming him into a Three Legged Golden Crow that shot towards Heaven.

In the sky, a Transport Array formed from golden flames burning through the void took shape, and the Three Legged Golden Crow charged directly towards this Array.

“How you decide to proceed, that is in your hands.” In an instant, the Three Legged Golden Crow entered the Transport Array, disappearing along with it.

After Elder Jin’s departure, the crowd under Tangun’s command immediately erupted in chaotic discussion, conversing amongst themselves about Elder Jin’s words.

“Cherry Blossom Country’s fate was all because of Dragon Country?”

“Are those words credible or not?!”

“If this is true, then we surely cannot act on Cherry Blossom Country.”

Firstly, if Cherry Blossom Country’s current state was truly Dragon Country’s doing, Extremistis Country’s intervention at this stage would clearly be inappropriate.

Moreover, beyond just saving face, they would be provoking Dragon Country’s wrath.

Currently, Extremistis Country’s overall national strength was hardly impressive. Should they truly anger Dragon Country, how could Extremistis Country withstand Dragon Country’s retaliation?

Yet conversely, even if Elder Jin’s words were not true, what then?

Elder Jin’s arrival had already demonstrated Dragon Country had plans on Cherry Blossom Country.

Regardless of whether those Giant Dragons were released by Dragon Country, Extremistis Country really could not act against Cherry Blossom Country now.

Therefore, Tangun’s plan had completely failed. They absolutely could not act against Cherry Blossom Country.

Tangun naturally understood this point, which explained his increasingly grim expression.

Extremistis Country had suffered consecutive attacks from Lu Fan and the Monster Tide, depleting their national strength. Annexing Cherry Blossom Country could have restored them back to their peak.

But now it seemed this wish would remain unfulfilled.

Once they touched Cherry Blossom Country, Extremistis Country would likely become Extremistis Province of Dragon Country in the future.

At this moment, a Fifth Profession Player approached, whispering beside Tangun. “What do you think? Should we still go to Cherry Blossom Country?”

“How can we still proceed!?” Tangun frowned and growled. “If we go today, Elder Jin will come tomorrow! If those Giant Dragons were truly released by Dragon Country, then they will come to Extremistis Country next. If not, then Elder Jin will come. Do you think either of these options is something we can handle?”

The Fifth Profession Player immediately fell silent, not daring to speak further and risk triggering Tangun’s anger.

Tangun drew a deep breath and helplessly declared loudly. “Everyone, listen up. We’re all refraining from acting! Remember, from now on, focus on Levelling Up and developing your forces. Strengthen yourselves as much as possible! Because while it’s Cherry Blossom Country now, their next target might as well be our Extremistis Country…”
