Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 741, Clearing the Six Trials

Translator: Silavin

The power of ice and snow swept forward, and the Mirror Image Projections simply could not withstand it. Each one was torn apart by the assault.

However, these Mirror Image Projections were, after all, projections of Pet Dragon Kings, so they were by no means weak. Although they were shredded by the storm, the attacks from the Mirror Image Projections still managed to weaken the storm’s power.

By the time the ice-snow storm swept towards Lu Fan, although Lu Fan felt his body being bombarded by the Skill, with his Golden Dragon Scales fragmenting, he could still barely withstand it without needing to release his Skill, Golden Form.

After weathering this wave of ice-snow storm, Lu Fan shook off the accumulated snow and ice fragments from his body and looked towards the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw. He saw it was gathering power for the next round of attacks.

But now, it had exposed a gap during its consecutive attacks, one which Lu Fan could exploit to launch an assault on it.

Lu Fan naturally would not pass up this opportunity. He loudly commanded Ji Ji, “Ji Ji, Weaken it!” As he casted Summoning Arrays to recall those Pet Dragons he had sent away.

Ji Ji had also been destroyed in the previous ice-snow storm, turning into a puddle of poisonous liquid. But she possessed an Immortal and indestructible body, so turning into poison was not fatal for her.

Hearing Lu Fan’s command, Ji Ji did not even bother to reconstitute her body. Instead, she flew directly towards the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw in liquid form, like spilled ink, and splashed across the Left Claw.

Immediately, wisps of smoke rose as Ji Ji’s poison took effect, applying various Debuffs to the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw.

This time, Lu Fan discovered that Ji Ji’s poison was much more effective than it had been against the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw, weakening the Left Claw’s Attributes to a far greater degree.

He could clearly see Ji Ji’s poison taking effect on the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw, causing it to tremble as if suffering tremendous pain.

At the same time, the speed in which the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw was gathering its power for the next attack had noticeably slowed down, and its might was no longer as oppressive as it had been initially.

Lu Fan was immediately delighted, knowing that this Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw was likely specialised in Magic Skills, while its Defensive capabilities were far inferior to the Right Claw.

If it had been the Right Claw, it would have already equipped itself with a layer of Ice Crystal armour around the entire claw, not only enhancing its Defence but even able to Cleanse Ji Ji’s poison Debuffs.

With Ji Ji’s poison in play, the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw’s Damage Output plummeted dramatically, leaving Lu Fan with nothing to fear.

He had Xiao Cui cast Jade Mirror Image again, piling a large group of Pet Dragon Mirror Image Projections in front of himself, and the actual Pet Dragons to serve as meat shields, while simultaneously increasing the Damage Output from his side.

The combined Skill bombardment from Lu Fan, his Pet Dragons, and their Mirror Image Projections was no joke.

Taking advantage of the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw still gathering power for its ice-snow storm, all friendly units released their Skills together, immediately dealing severe Damage to the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw!

However, the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw was still a Level 78 Mythical Grade Boss with a substantial Health Pool.

So even after being bombarded by Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons, it still did not instantly die, instead launching its second ice-snow storm.

This ice-snow storm was clearly less powerful than the previous one, so Lu Fan did not recall his Pet Dragons. Instead, he led his Pet Dragons and their Mirror Image Projections in attacking the storm directly.

Ultimately, at the cost of losing over a dozen Pet Dragon Mirror Image Projections, Lu Fan successfully shattered the ice-snow storm without letting it harm himself or his Pet Dragons in the slightest.

Not only that, as Ji Ji’s poison Debuffs stacked, the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw’s Attributes declined even further.

The speed at which it prepared its third ice-snow storm, as well as the Skill’s power, were even more pitiful compared to the second wave.

Thus, before it could launch its third ice-snow storm, Lu Fan and his Pet Dragons swarmed it and successfully killed it, passing the trial of the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw.

Compared to the Right Claw, the Left Claw was far easier for Lu Fan to clear.

Because Ji Ji could greatly limit the opponent’s Attributes, Bosses like the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw, which lacked Debuff Cleansing abilities and had weaker Defence, was perfectly countered by Lu Fan, unable to display their proper dominance.

Of course, as before, it was only because the Frost Dragon King’s Left Claw had the misfortune of encountering a monster like Lu Fan.

If it had been any other Player, the first ice-snow storm alone would probably have sent them packing. Even if they could survive the first ice-snow storm, what about the second?

Even Players of the same Level with outstanding Defence would find it very difficult to withstand the baptism of two ice-snow storms.

As for Damage Output, that would be nothing more than a pipe dream.

Although Lu Fan had easily passed the second Secret Realm, he was aware that these Seven Trials were not going to be that easy. Although they were all limbs of the same Frost Dragon, each limb had completely different characteristics from the others.

Lu Fan speculated that the Frost Dragon King had separately established the Seven Trials, using each of its characteristics as the subject for each trial, to test whether participants could pass through.

The previous two trials had tested the Frost Dragon King’s powerful Defence and Magic Damage Output capabilities. If he entered other Secret Realms, he should encounter other characteristics of the Frost Dragon.

From this perspective, the Seven Trials had strict requirements for the participant to be balanced in all aspects.

Once a participant had any weakness in their capabilities, they would inevitably be stuck on one of the trials, completely unable to pass.

[These Seven Trials are quite interesting.] Lu Fan had gained a deeper understanding of the Seven Trials. He left the second Secret Realm and prepared to select the third.

Ultimately, he still chose another limb of the Frost Dragon King, wanting to see what other characteristics the Frost Dragon King would display in the next trial.

…

Time passed for a full day.

As Lu Fan continued to successfully clear each trial, he had already completed all six of the Seven Trials.

These six all required Lu Fan to battle against one part of the Frost Dragon King, with each part having completely different characteristics.

Each characteristic was not to be underestimated. However, each part certainly did not possess too many Skills. So as long as he found the right approach, Clearing them was not too difficult.

Lu Fan himself had no particular weakness, and his Pet Dragons were mostly Mythical Grade Dragon Kings as well, so although Clearing these six trials took some time, they were completed without any major incident.
