Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 727, Journey Together

However, before that, they should still let Tao Xiaoman try to see if any Ice Crystal Beast would be willing to follow her and become her Extra Pet.

Lu Fan directly had Xiao Ye reduce the Black Dragon Pressure suppression on these five Ice Crystal Beasts, allowing them temporary freedom of movement.

At the same time, Xiao Ye remained fully alert, ready to Crowd Control them at the first moment if these Ice Crystal Beasts showed any hostile intent.

The Ice Crystal Beasts were quite intelligent. Although they were no longer being Crowd Controlled, with Xiao Ye, a Giant Dragon, right beside them, they understood that if they tried to resist, the outcome would likely be the same as before, or perhaps even worse.

They probably also realised that although Lu Fan and the others had captured them, there was no intention to kill them.

So, these Ice Crystal Beasts curiously examined their surroundings, puzzled about what kind of place this actually was.

Tao Xiaoman was quite familiar with these Ice Crystal Beasts. She actually took out several yellow pastries from her Inventory and fed them to the Ice Crystal Beasts.

According to Tao Xiaoman, these pastries were made by Han Ke, created from carrots and pumpkins—sweet and delicious.

Before the first Ice Crystal Beast had arrived earlier, Han Ke had been making these pastries.

Han Ke thought about it afterwards and felt that since she was only a Lifestyle Specialised Profession, there was no reason for her to attract an Ice Crystal Beast’s favour.

The only possibility was that she had the scent of these pastries on her, which made the Ice Crystal Beast interested in her.

So, to give Tao Xiaoman, who was the only one without an Ice Crystal Beast, a chance to obtain one, Han Ke gave her these pastries to try and see if she could win over the Ice Crystal Beasts with food, making them willingly follow her.

The result was exactly as Han Ke had predicted. When Tao Xiaoman took out the pastries, the Ice Crystal Beasts’ noses began frantically sniffing, and their eyes brightened considerably.

The two adult Ice Crystal Beasts could still control themselves, but the little ones did not understand the principle of ‘Human hearts are treacherous’. So, after smelling the fragrance, they instinctively approached Tao Xiaoman, trying to snatch the pastries from her hands.

This delighted Tao Xiaoman, who took out portions of pastries and distributed them to the three small Ice Crystal Beasts.

Although they still had not shown any intention of becoming Tao Xiaoman’s Extra Pet, the joy of feeding them made Tao Xiaoman already very happy.

The two Ice Crystal Beasts watched their children completely fall to temptation, exchanged glances with each other, and both saw helplessness in the other’s eyes.

Their three little ones had been corrupted. They wondered if it was still possible to start over with their training.

Although the two large Ice Crystal Beasts were reserved, seeing their children eating so contentedly, after much hesitation, they also joined in the feast.

And, much to the Parents’ regret, it really was delicious.

Soon, the pastries Tao Xiaoman had prepared were completely devoured by this Family of five.

Seeing the Ice Crystal Beasts looking at her expectantly, hoping she would produce more pastries, Tao Xiaoman had no choice but to raise both hands, indicating she had no more food.

“Alright, alright, I only prepared enough for one Ice Crystal Beast. Who knew you’d bring a whole Family? I really don’t have any more. How about you stay here as my Extra Pet, and I’ll have Sister Han make more for you later?”

Lu Fan laughed upon hearing this, thinking that if the Ice Crystal Beasts could understand Tao Xiaoman’s words, they would definitely consider: ‘since we want to eat pastries, why would we become her Extra Pet? Wouldn’t it be better to directly become ‘Sister Han’s’ Extra Pet, cutting out the middleman?’

Obviously, the Ice Crystal Beasts did not have such thoughts.

Soon, Tao Xiaoman’s face lit up with joy as she said to Lu Fan, “Lu Fan, I succeeded! There really is an Ice Crystal Beast that wants to become my Extra Pet!”

Lu Fan smiled and asked. “Is it one, or many?”

“Just one,” Tao Xiaoman said. “It seems like a Player can’t have two identical Monsters as Extra Pet, so I can only receive one Ice Crystal Beast as my Extra Pet.”

“It seems… it’s this one!” Tao Xiaoman carefully identified and pointed to one of the small Ice Crystal Beasts.

This small Ice Crystal Beast had no difference in appearance or size from its siblings. The only distinction was that it was the first to approach and eat Tao Xiaoman’s snack and was currently the most affectionate with her.

Now, Tao Xiaoman’s pastries had completely won it over, and it was currently rubbing its large head vigorously against Tao Xiaoman’s body.

Tao Xiaoman was quite fond of this Ice Crystal Beast and did not hesitate at all, directly making it her Extra Pet.

After acquiring an Extra Pet, Tao Xiaoman could now see this small Ice Crystal Beast’s Attribute Panel.

Tao Xiaoman opened it for a look and said in surprise, “This little one’s Level is quite low, only Level 40, but its Attributes are good. Although it is not as High Level or strong as Sister Han’s Ice Crystal Beast, I am really glad that I’m going to be with you.”

Lu Fan nodded and said, “En, theirs are adults. Because they became Pets, their Levels dropped to match their Masters. This Ice Crystal Beast is still young, so its Level is even lower than yours. If you want to train it up, the effort and time you’ll need to spend will definitely be greater than the others.”

“Hehe, that is fine by me. I really can’t help but fall for this little one!” Tao Xiaoman smiled so widely she could not close her mouth, hugging the small Ice Crystal Beast’s neck. Looking at this Human and Monster pair, it was clearly going to be a journey together.

However, problems arose accordingly. Tao Xiaoman released her Ice Crystal Beast and asked Lu Fan, “I already have my own Extra Pet, so what about the other Ice Crystal Beasts? You said you wanted to try if they could become Shadow Isle’s Territory Monsters. How is this done?”

Lu Fan scratched his head and smiled. “Actually, I’m not too clear either. We can only experiment. I think the urgent matter should still be communicating with them first. Perhaps if they’re willing to stay here, they can automatically become Territory Monsters.”

“Communicate?” Tao Xiaoman was puzzled. After all, how could Humans communicate with Ice Crystal Beasts? Although Ice Crystal Beasts had high intelligence, expecting them to directly understand Human speech was like asking a Dragon Country child who had just learned to speak and was born and raised locally to speak Star Stripe Country’s language.

However, Lu Fan had an idea.

Through the Territory Management Panel, he issued commands to the Two Headed Dragon, calling it over.

After a short while, the Two Headed Dragon soared over and landed beside Lu Fan.

“Dragon Tamer, you called me for something?” The Two Headed Dragon’s two heads looked drowsy, appearing as if he had not fully awakened yet.

Silavin: Star Stripe Country’s language – Technically, it is English. Just wanted to change this to make it different from Earth.
