Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 738, Frost Dragon Arm Guard

Translator: Silavin

Within the vast expanse of mist, an enormously gigantic Dragon Claw emerged, crashing down violently before Lu Fan.

That Dragon Claw appeared crystalline, one look revealing it belonged to the Frost Dragon King. However, this Dragon Claw seemed larger than the Frost Dragon King’s actual body. It was just a single Dragon Claw, yet as massive as a small mountain, emanating tremendous oppressive force upon Lu Fan.

Above the Dragon Claw, it appeared connected to the Frost Dragon King’s torso. Yet only the Dragon Claw extended from the mist, allowing one to clearly catch a glimpse of its form. The Frost Dragon King’s body remained concealed within the mist, its silhouette indiscernible.

Nevertheless, the distinctive roaring sounds of a Giant Dragon continuously echoed from within the mist, making Lu Fan feel he faced not merely a Dragon Claw, but the Frost Dragon King.

“This is… one of the Seven Trials!?” Lu Fan was utterly astounded, as the scene before him truly exceeded his imagination.

He hastily used Appraisal on this Frost Dragon King’s claw, discovering it was actually a Level 78 Mythical Grade Monster called ‘Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw’.

This marked Lu Fan’s first encounter with a Mythical Grade Monster, unexpectedly manifesting as a severed limb of the Frost Dragon King.

Lu Fan then examined his Mission Panel, finding it had updated upon entering the Seven Trials’ Secret Realm.

Seven Trials – Right Claw (Mythical Grade Secret Realm):
Mission Requirements: Defeat the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw

Description: Before the Frost Dragon King’s death, seeking someone powerful enough, it established the Seven Trials using its own body. One such Trial involves the right claw’s challenge. Defeat the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw to pass the Trial and unlock the right claw sealed in the Ice Crystal Coffin.

Exercise extreme caution. Though the Frost Dragon King will only wield its right claw, its strength remains formidable. Otherwise, it would not still be of Mythical Grade.

The brief introduction clarified this Secret Realm’s Clear Condition: defeat the severed right claw of the Frost Dragon King.

However, while described as battling the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw, observing the Frost Dragon King’s silhouette hidden within the mist revealed this essentially meant the Frost Dragon King would not employ its other limbs, purely confronting enemies with its right claw alone.

Therefore, this right claw’s strength could not be considered one-seventh of the Frost Dragon King’s power. It would be even stronger.

Were this not the case, this Secret Realm would not qualify as Mythical Grade, nor would this Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw be a Mythical Grade Monster.

Lu Fan’s initial estimate was that this Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw could effortlessly annihilate tens of thousands of Fourth Profession Players. After all, who had ever witnessed a Mythical Grade Monster?

So, even Lu Fan could not afford to be careless here.

Fortunately, the Seven Trials’ content remained reasonable, not requiring the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw to match the Frost Dragon King’s actual Level, but rather matching the participating challenger’s Level.

Otherwise, the Seven Trials would have been impossible to clear. Lu Fan might as well mount Xing Chen and immediately flee.

After all, who in this world could battle an Eternal Phase Frost Dragon King?

However, a Level 78 Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw presented Lu Fan with a chance to win.

Higher Grades of Monsters and Items created exponentially greater disparities.

For instance, between the same Level equipment, the gap between Bronze and Silver certainly was not as vast as the difference between Silver and Gold. Similarly, Mythical versus Legendary, had a disparity far exceeding the gap between Legendary and Epic.

Therefore, while Lu Fan had battled High level Legendary Grade Monsters before, facing this same Level Mythical Grade Monster demanded absolute vigilance.

Mythical Grade existences represented the apex power at those of the same Level. Lu Fan possessed confidence in being the strongest at his Level, but whether any gap remained between himself and Mythical Grade Monsters required actual combat to determine.

Once Lu Fan comprehended all this Secret Realm’s rules, the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw commenced.

The right claw lifted, raised high, then slammed down towards Lu Fan.

Although Lu Fan was in his Golden Dragon King Form, he dared not be complacent. Since his opponent attacked, Lu Fan did not mind testing its strength.

“Ji Ji, give it a mouthful of poison to weaken its Attributes!”

Following Lu Fan’s command, Ji Ji expelled Hell’s Fatal Poison, striking the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw directly.

Instantly, poisonous gas dispersed, forming poison that began applying countless Debuffs to the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw.

Though the Frost Dragon King certainly possessed Frost Dragon Bloodline, achieving 100% Debuff Resistance, the Hell Poison Dragon King’s Mechanics remained absolute. Even those with Giant Dragon Bloodline were not completely Immune against their poison.

Therefore, Hell’s Fatal Poison immediately took effect. The Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw began exhibiting obvious Corrosion amongst other Effects, with Attributes subsequently suffering Weakening.

Yet the Weakening Effect result left Lu Fan somewhat unsatisfied. He could clearly observe the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw still possessed extremely formidable Attributes. Even after Weakening, it remained ferociously powerful.

As this claw descended, he dared not be careless. The Little Blade Armour Dragon King armour covering his body instantly enveloped his Golden Dragon King Form entirely, transforming him into a Golden Dragon clad in Blade Armour.

Combined with Xiao Zuo and Xiao You’s transformation into Arm Guards, Lu Fan’s Defence and various Attributes reached terrifyingly fearsome numbers.

Facing the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw, Lu Fan directly chose to meet it head-on, spreading his wings and charging upward.

The two collided with tremendous impact. Lu Fan was immediately sent flying, travelling approximately one hundred metres before barely managing to halt his trajectory mid-air.

This collision left Lu Fan feeling his chest and stomach churning. However, the direct confrontation with the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw was not without results.

The massive impact caused numerous cracks to appear across the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw, evidently sustaining some injury during the collision.

Though managing to injure it, this claw’s strength still alarmed Lu Fan. After all, a Frost Dragon King was a Magic Attack Specialised Dragon, who in fact was closer to Specialising in Crowd Control. Yet. its Physical Attack remained so terrifying. This truly defied all reason.

As Lu Fan contemplated this, he suddenly discovered something even more absurd approaching!

The Frost Dragon King’s body within the mist released a roar, seemingly displeased at being injured by Lu Fan.

Subsequently, that right claw actually emanated rising streams of frigid azure-blue air. Even at such a distance, Lu Fan could sense the air temperature dropping to the extreme!

Frigid air enveloped the Frost Dragon King’s Right Claw, not only completely repairing those cracks but additionally coating it with crystalline ice-formed armour. Without question, this provided substantial Defensive and Offensive capabilities to the right claw.

Silavin: I was thinking of using Night Terror to state its difficulty. But, I think the author is phasing out those difficulty levels and just sticking to the simple Grades.
