Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 718, Sweeping Clean

The reason for Riding Ye Sha was primarily because Lu Fan needed to observe the characteristics of this unfamiliar area in order to assess its potential dangers.

Ye Sha could Conceal them, enabling them to avoid numerous troubles.

Simultaneously, Lu Fan had Xiao Cui use Jade Mirror Image, creating Mirror Image Projections of himself and Ye Sha to fly ahead.

This way, should any dangers exist on this Map, the Mirror Image Projections would bear the brunt first, while Lu Fan could adapt accordingly to the situation.

After advancing for some time, Lu Fan discovered that this place did not seem particularly perilous.

At most, after leaving the Falling Star Ice Lake and entering this place called ‘Despair Ice Plains’. Heavy snow fell like blades. Whenever the snowflakes touched anything, they would explode and transform into vast ice crystals, freezing everything.

This situation started mildly but became increasingly severe the deeper one ventured into the Despair Ice Plains.

Lu Fan could observe that when snowflakes landed upon himself and Ye Sha, they crystallised into ice, but were immediately cleared away by some force, causing no adverse Effects whatsoever.

Lu Fan guessed that these snowflakes were likely some kind of Map Mechanics.

He directly summoned a Fallen Corpse Puppet and left it in place.

Indeed, as soon as the Fallen Corpse Puppet appeared and snowflakes landed upon it, they immediately formed a thick layer of ice, freezing it solid.

Initially, some parts of the Fallen Corpse Puppet’s body were frozen, greatly impacting its movement.

Subsequently, more and more parts became frozen, and within moments, the Fallen Corpse Puppet had completely become an ice sculpture. Even when Lu Fan issued commands, it could no longer execute them.

Moreover, the ice layer grew increasingly thick. It seemed that remaining too long in the Despair Ice Plains would result in being firmly sealed in ice, left to gradually lose one’s life in despair.

Lu Fan thought to himself that indeed, this Map Mechanics was quite frightening. Fortunately, both he and his Pet Dragon possessed 100% Debuff Resistance and would not be affected by the Map Mechanics. Otherwise, the Despair Ice Plains would become another obstacle preventing him from reaching the Frost Dragon Ruins.

The Griffin Legion members who originally came here to explore had been rather fortunate. Before entering the depths of the Despair Ice Plains, they had spotted extremely High Level Monsters and wisely retreated in time, not continuing. Otherwise, they might have unknowingly transformed into ice sculptures, remaining forever in the Despair Ice Plains.

After confirming that the Map Mechanics would not affect him and that there were no other dangers, Lu Fan was a little more confident. In tandem, his flying speed on Ye Sha accelerated.

After flying through the air for another period, Lu Fan gradually began to see the Monsters.

They were Ape-like, roughly Human-sized. They were called White Ghosts.

Their entire bodies were covered in white fur, with robust builds. Though similar in size to Humans, if Humans fought them, they would likely be directly torn apart.

White Ghosts were Level 100 Elite Monsters, possessing one simple Level 100 Divine Skill, Frenzy.

When used, it would reduce their Defence by 50% while increasing Attack and Speed by 100% for three minutes. It was essentially a desperate Skill with considerable effectiveness.

However, this Level 100 Divine Skill merely belongs to Elite Monsters, so it was not that troublesome to deal with. At the very least, killing these White Ghosts was not particularly difficult.

They were inherently a type of High Attack, High Agility, Low Defence Monster. They also lacked any capability to fly. Compared to Lu Fan, who could ride Giant Dragons, their Agility paled in comparison.

Even though they possessed a Skill called ‘Snowball Throw’ that could target flying units, it still posed no threat to Lu Fan.

Additionally, these White Ghosts were Pack Monsters. Whenever encountered, they appeared in large groups.

Within each White Ghost community, there was also a Gold Boss called White Ghost Chieftain, whose Attributes exceeded those ordinary White Ghosts.

However, Lu Fan still did not regard them as significant threats.

Lu Fan originally had not intended to entangle with these Monsters, but as he flew deeper into the Despair Ice Plains, he encountered an increasing number of them. Lu Fan gradually felt that allowing such abundant Experience Points to pass by would be too wasteful.

Lu Fan was currently only Level 75. Killing Monsters around Level 100 could yield substantial Experience Points.

Lu Fan wanted to reach Level 90 as quickly as possible to undergo his Fourth Profession Change, allowing his Profession Characteristics to further manifest.

Although he had countless better grinding areas available, not collecting such abundant Experience Points along the way seemed too wasteful.

After some consideration, Lu Fan devised a method that would not cause him any delay in time but allow him to harvest Experience Points continuously along the way.

He directly recalled Ye Sha and switched to the more powerful Xing Chen.

Subsequently, he had Xing Chen transform into her Galaxy Overlord Form, then used Bloodline Sharing Awakening, activating Xing Chen’s Bloodline Power.

Thus, both Man and Dragon were surrounded by falling Stars, conducting indiscriminate attacks on their surroundings.

Lu Fan rode upon Xing Chen, and the overlapping Stars continuously fell, nearly creating a vacuum of life around the pair.

Such frequency of attacks was completely beyond what these White Ghosts could withstand.

Whenever Lu Fan and Xing Chen passed over, it spelled disaster for those groups of White Ghosts.

Continuous stars directly engulfed the White Ghosts, slaughtering them entirely in the blink of an eye, converting them into Experience Points.

This way, Lu Fan needed only to ride Xing Chen forward. Without deliberately stopping to kill Monsters, he could harvest Experience Points. If this was not exhilarating, what was?

Lu Fan eventually became unsatisfied with this method of harvesting Experience Points though.

He had Xiao Cui cast Jade Mirror Image, summoning eight Mirror Image Projections.

Thus, nine Lu Fans and Xing Chens transformed into scythes, advancing together and directly annihilating one group of White Ghosts after another.

Massive amounts of Experience Points continuously flowed into Lu Fan’s Experience Bar, causing him to cry out in satisfaction.

The further forward they travelled, the more White Ghosts they encountered, and the faster their harvesting became.

This Experience Point harvesting speed even exceeded Lu Fan’s imagination, allowing him to gain a full Level in merely half a day, reaching Level 76!

This pace was not any worse than Clearing a Dungeon Instance.

Lu Fan even wondered whether he could afford to waste such an excellent sanctuary for Levelling Up.

[When I return from the Frost Dragon Ruins, perhaps I should make several more rounds here, gaining a few more Levels before returning?]
