I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 598: 581: The Wise OneChapter 598: Chapter 581: The Wise One

“What’s in these little jars? How can adding them make it smell so good?”

“How can the skewer holding the meat move on its own?”

...

The Tiger Clan Beastmen watched Mu Ying who was sitting calmly to one side, holding a red Wooden Stick, like cats with an insatiable curiosity.

The Little Beastmen were even more lively, already gathered around Mu Ying, one moment watching her, the next eyeing the irresistibly delicious roasted meat, just waiting for Mu Ying’s signal to pounce and feast.

Mu Ying waved her Magic Wand and made the salt jar float over, looking at the little ones with suspicious liquid hanging from their mouths, “This is salt, want to try it?”

The Little Beastmen nodded frantically, mouths agape.

The Big Beastmen, too proud to join, could only watch the Little Beastmen tasting the salt and drooled with envy!

Mu Ying sprinkled a few grains of salt into each of the Little Beastmen’s mouths.

٩(o『o٩)???

The Little Beastmen scrunched up their faces, the taste in their mouths not at all related to the aroma.

“How does it taste the same as a salty rock?”

“Exactly, it’s just salty.” Mu Ying watched their puzzled expressions, holding back a laugh, then summoned the cumin powder jar, “Try this? The main aroma of the roast comes from this.”

As soon as the Little Beastmen heard that the scent came from there, they were willing to try again.

A moment later, the Little Beastmen were disappointed again, questioning their taste buds; this thing clearly had no scent at all.

“Cumin powder needs to be cooked to bring out the aroma, try this chili powder and Sichuan Pepper Powder? The taste is quite unique,” Mu Ying continued to tease the Little Beastmen.

Helplessly, one after another, with their tiger-like, fluffy, and adorable heads, they tried a bit of chili powder and Sichuan Pepper Powder, sticking out their tongues, now even dubious about the alluring roasted meat – could it be that the meat only smelled nice but wasn’t tasty?

“Haha!” Mu Ying finally couldn’t help but burst into laughter, rubbing their adorable tiger heads, “This time sister won’t trick you, try this.”

She summoned the glass jar of honey.

“We know this one; the Bear Clan Beastmen love it the most!”

The Little Beastmen finally tasted something normal, the sweet honey was truly delicious!

Once the roast was nearly done, she lightly tapped her wand’s tip and distributed the meat to the eagerly waiting Beastmen.

Gungun and Da Ming were also released by Mu Ying from the Small World, everyone enjoying the feast together.

Then, the only sounds left were the crackling of the firewood and everyone enjoying their meat.

The Beastmen ate their share in one go, all had full bellies, but their tongues seemed to have a mind of their own, still crazily secreting saliva.

This feeling was something they had never experienced before.

Before, they ate meat just to fill their bellies and nourish a strong body, and they were satisfied once full, but this time, even though they were full, their tongues still craved more.

“Do you like this roasted meat?” Mu Ying asked them.

Not a single Beastman disliked it, they all nodded furiously. After having such roasted meat, the previous kind felt like a waste of food.

“Unfortunately, I can’t always make roasted meat for you...”

The Beastmen nodded in understanding. They knew she had to leave eventually, and even if she were here, she couldn’t always take care of so many people.

“However, I can teach you to grow the spices that can be grown here,” Mu Ying said, “Once you know how to grow them, you can make your own spice powders. The rest can be bought from the general store at the human camp, so you can make delicious roasted meat yourselves.”

“Plant! We must plant!” the Beastmen unanimously declared.

“But to go to the camps outside to buy things, you must learn the Universal Language. Otherwise, no one will understand you. Today, I’ll teach you the roast and the Universal Language words for these few spices!” Mu Ying gently persuaded.

The Beastmen understood. This concerned whether they could continue to enjoy such delicious spices in the future. Their desire to learn surged, and they brought over the small sandboards Mu Ying had made for them that day, holding Wooden Sticks in their hands.

Mu Ying stood on the built platform, where there was a large blackboard for teaching.

After the lesson, she let the Beastmen go to sleep.

The next morning, she took the Beastmen to build Beast Cages and also gave them hoes for planting spices as she had mentioned the day before, teaching them the preparations before planting.

The carnivorous Beastmen were originally not interested in planting, but because of the taste of the meat the day before, they were particularly eager today.

While they were clearing the land, Mu Ying took the opportunity to teach them, “If we learn to grow our own spices, we can use them whenever we need and always harvest enough. But if we don’t grow them and search in the wild instead, we might scour several mountains and still not find a single plant. This is the stable advantage of self-sufficiency, because everything is in our control.”

The Beastmen pondered deeply.

“The same goes for breeding. With livestock in our control, it is not as unstable as hunting, where bad luck might mean catching nothing. The reason I asked you to plant saplings after cutting trees yesterday is the same. As long as we proactively maintain our surroundings, whether it’s trees, meat, or spices, we will have a never-ending supply and will not need to keep migrating.”

To have an inexhaustible supply and no need to migrate were days the Beastmen dreamed of.

Before, no Beastman thought that aside from constantly migrating and hunting, they could also breed on their own. They were just continuing their ancestors’ ways of living, muddling through life, unaware that other options existed, and no one had taught them these principles.

“Thank you! Please allow us to honor you as our tribe’s Lord of Wisdom!” Taiger knelt on one knee and requested with his head bowed.

The other Beastmen also knelt down one after another.

Mu Ying knew that among the Beastmen, a Lord of Wisdom was someone knowledgeable, whose influence in the tribe was even greater than that of a leader.

The “Beastman Civilization Guide” states that being honored as a Lord of Wisdom signifies that the tribe truly trusts you, believing your decisions to be the wisest and capable of leading the tribe towards better development.

This was a good thing. Mu Ying agreed, as the status of Lord of Wisdom in the Tiger Clan Beastman Tribe would be very beneficial for her actions later on.

Even with this title, and accompanied by a Tiger Clan Beastman to prove her authenticity, she could visit any Beastman Tribe and be treated as an honored guest. They would also seriously consider her suggestions.

“Lord of Wisdom!” the Beastmen shouted in unison, highly respectful. Their tribe finally had a Lord of Wisdom too!

“Alright, no need for such formalities, stand up,” Mu Ying said.

After being recognized as the Lord of Wisdom, Mu Ying clearly felt that her words carried more weight, almost revered as the truth.
