I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 565 - 548 Experience Reward
Chapter 565: Chapter 548 Experience Reward

By the time the Cold Deer began casting Ice and Snow on the slope where snowflakes were dancing around, Mu Ying had quietly flown above one of the Cold Deer at an angle, and cast the Wind Creation Skill.

The wind swept the Frost Snow Powder from the box down, mixing with the dancing snowflakes, and landing on the Cold Deer.

The tiny white powder mixed in with the snowflakes, completely imperceptible to the naked eye.

She took care of each one, making sure they all bathed in enough Frost Snow Powder, since she had plenty of stock.

After poisoning, Mu Ying immediately cast the Thunderstorm Skill.

The Thunderstorm Skill was a long-range spell, stronger in attack power than the Summoning Lightning Skill. Each spell-casting could summon up to 15 bolts of lightning to strike at the enemy. At level 10, the thunder clouds she summoned could stay for 10 minutes, and during this time, she could strike lightning at any point.

Mu Ying chose a clever position that could simultaneously ”take care of” 3 Cold Deer.

As the thunder clouds gathered, they blended in with the dim snow clouds. The Cold Deer did not notice anything unusual at first, until the clouds were split open, then they realized that today’s clouds were different.

But by then, it was already too late. The three ”lucky ones” picked by Mu Ying were the first to experience the baptism of lightning, two strikes each.

The proud antlers of the Cold Deer even played a role in attracting lightning. The struck Cold Deer glowed with electricity, trembling violently. The snow-white Cold Deer instantly turned into black curly-fur deer, their fur singed.

The bodies of the Cold Deer were strong, and even after being struck by lightning twice, their blood volume only decreased by 20%. They lost their beautiful fur, and had severe superficial burns on a large area of their skin, but it was not fatal.

However, after the lightning, the Frost Snow Powder contacted the wounds and started to take effect.

Another three Cold Deer outside Mu Ying’s spell range noticed that their companions had stopped casting and had been struck by lightning. They quickly gathered together, forming a circle for defense, and started looking for traces of the enemy.

Their perception of creatures in the snow was very sharp. Walking on the snow would always leave traces. Logically, no enemy should be able to approach them without their guards down.

But they indeed did not detect the enemy attacking them.

Not being able to find the enemy’s position, their situation became very dangerous.

”Who are you? Why are you hurting us for no reason?”, one of the Cold Deer spoke human language.

The only response was the whooshing sound of the wind.

Mu Ying’s intention to kill the Cold Deer was very firm, and knowing enough about Cold Deer, she was unperturbed. Instead, she was slightly pleased to see them gathering together, moving into her spell range.

Since they were so ”well-behaved” in coming into her spell range, of course, she would seize the opportunity, no need for a second Thunderstorm Skill.

But before her next lightning strike, the Cold Deer on the slope vanished into thin air.

However, Mu Ying was not panicked. True to their nature of deceiving people thoroughly, the Cold Deer, not finding her, first used a spell to conceal their tracks. Unfortunately, Mu Ying was too well-prepared, not only thoroughly familiar with the various abilities of the Cold Deer but also equipped with Magic Marks for positioning. Even if she couldn’t see them, she could accurately locate their positions and rapidly continued to drop several bolts of lightning.

Agonizing deer cries echoed across the snow plain, and the High-level Illusion shattered, revealing six Cold Deer with scarred hides on the snow.

Now they knew that the other party had no desire to converse with them.

Unable to find a way to counter-attack and unable to converse, they had no choice but to run.

Fortunately, though the lightning was fierce, it was not yet lethal.

They immediately decided to scatter and flee.

But as they ran, they found their previously agile and nimble bodies becoming heavier and their limbs stiffer. Soon after, intense pain followed, and finally, they fell in the snow, motionless, with reddish frost crystallizing around the wounds on their bodies.

Watching them fall one by one, Mu Ying breathed a sigh of relief—what a great start!

She still hadn’t landed but merely allowed the magic flying carpet to descend near the shock-stricken Cold Deer, summoned the Balance Scythe, and swung it at the necks of the Cold Deer, directly harvesting their lives.

[You killed a Cold Deer, gained Professional Experience ×300]

...

Six consecutive kill prompts, each worth 300 Professional Experience—comparable to the experience reward for cultivating a promising new type of plant.

This substantial reward made Mu Ying look at the corpses of the Cold Deer with a softened gaze—each one a splendid tool for farming experience!

She professionally took out a storage pouch and collected the bodies of all six Cold Deer, even scooping up the snow around their corpses.

Just from looking at the rewarded experience, one could tell how much Natural Father despised the Cold Deer.

From the perspective of the Cold Deer, they were merely striving to survive. Their reproduction and growth depended on the size of the Snow Domain, so they would resort to any means necessary to achieve their goals.

However, from nature’s perspective, they were disrupting the ecological balance. If all the land turned into snow-covered fields, numerous creatures would not adapt to the harsh cold and would die, which was intolerable to nature.

Nature accommodates the existence of all life, not interfering with the natural selection and strife, but it cannot tolerate species that destroy the environment and selfishly monopolize resources.

As a Druid, Mu Ying was an agent of nature, working for a ”salary” to deal with species despised by nature.

Even from the standpoint of humans or elves, the characteristic of the Cold Deer to expand the Snow Domain was intolerable, and there was no room for reconciliation with the Cold Deer, so she didn’t consider communicating with them at all.

However, the large amount of Experience Value awarded for hunting Cold Deer made her momentarily tempted to leave a glimmer of hope for the Cold Deer so that after they recovered and repopulated, she could harvest them again, potentially farming unlimited experience.

But if she didn’t eradicate them, the growth of the Cold Deer would still involve harming nature. She could indeed farm experience repeatedly, but the cost would be damage to nature.

How would she be any different from those employees in companies who use their position for personal gain? Who knows what punishment she might face if discovered?

Nature is omnipresent, and she dared not play such tricks.

Moreover, this was reality, not a game. Mu Ying felt it was important to maintain her integrity. Natural Father had been good to her, and she couldn’t betray it for such trivial benefits.

The hunting operation continued!

She sensed the position of the remaining magic marks and picked the most concentrated area, steering the magic flying carpet towards it.

Today’s first battle was very smooth; she must take advantage of the victory and catch the enemy by surprise!

Otherwise, by the time the Cold Deer made it back to Snow Mountain, her actions would probably be exposed. Then, who knows what strategies the Cold Deer might employ!

She always remembered that Cold Deer weren’t mindless magic beasts. Taking advantage of the current opportunity to kill as many as possible would mean that even if the Cold Deer took action later, their significantly weakened overall strength wouldn’t pose much of a threat to her.
