I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 588: 571 Bitter Before SweetChapter 588: Chapter 571 Bitter Before Sweet

After the hardship comes the sweetness, and it was this belief that kept her striving forward.

Hearing this news, the other Druids, who had originally planned to take a holiday over New Year to visit Qingshan City for the festivities, were utterly crestfallen.

“If you want to visit Qingshan City for New Year’s, I can have Da Ming take you to Luoxia Town to use the Transmission Array. Although I won’t be returning, the New Year’s activities in Qingshan City will go on as usual,” she said.

Mu Ying had heard them discuss the New Year’s activities in Qingshan City more than once, and she knew how much they must have wanted to go.

“No, no, no, we won’t go either. There’s still so much land left to sow. Start with a strong effort, then progressively weaken. We cannot relax,” the majority of Druids, upon knowing that Mu Ying wouldn’t return even for New Year’s, abandoned the idea of taking time off.

Although Mu Ying was not going back, and even had to complete her cultivation tasks normally on New Year’s Eve, there would always be a few hours of rest in the evening.

If they all went to Qingshan City for New Year’s, leaving only her in the camp, how lonely would that be! It’s better to stay here with her, and it would save money too!

“You’re not going? I can give you a discount on the transmission fees,” Mu Ying offered.

She really liked these Druid companions of hers. She herself planned to work through New Year’s, but she hoped that, after working so hard for so long, they could relax properly.

“No need, we must also push ourselves in cultivation!” the Druids asserted resolutely.

Mu Ying smiled, “Alright then, on New Year’s Eve, I’ll prepare some delicious food, and we can celebrate the New Year together! There will be a red envelope rain too!”

She truly thought of these Druids as her own juniors, students, and friends, though some of them were actually older than she was. Through the time they had spent together, their respect for her and her unreserved sharing of knowledge had been tangible and real.

As for the money she’d give away, to her, it was nothing at all—as she had more than she could spend.

It was they, who despite earning a lot of experience over time on the highland, had not made a single penny and were living hand to mouth, selling berries and medicinal materials they harvested to maintain a livelihood in Luoxia Town. No matter how difficult, not one had left.

That’s why Mu Ying thought to take the opportunity of the New Year to support them, so they could have a bit more comfort. A stronger Druid team meant a stronger Nature, and with them around, Nature would be more powerful.

By helping Natural Father take care of its followers, she too would be favored more by Natural Father.

The other Druids’ eyes lit up at her proposal, “Great idea!”

Celebrating with Mu Ying would be marvelous! Each one of them was filled with anticipation.

On New Year’s Eve, Mu Ying prepared a sumptuous feast, setting up several long tables, making sure even the Druids’ animal companions were accounted for.

Everyone had a hearty meal, and after dinner, Mu Ying, riding on Da Ming, started distributing red envelopes—instantly filling the camp with laughter and joy, and strengthening the Druids’ sense of unity.

After the brief celebration, Mu Ying returned to her regular routine, busy leveling up.

After another month, her Level 13 Professional Experience was full, and she leveled up to Level 14.

After reaching Level 14, her Life Value had increased to 1150, and her Mana Value to 240. In addition, her Professional Skill, Wild Transformation, had gained a new form: Transform into Plants.

The description of this skill had now become:

“[Wild Transformation: Through observation and imitation, you can transform into an animal or plant, taking on the attribute panel of the corresponding animal or plant, with a Life Value independent of your human form. You can transform twice per day, including large, medium, small, and extra small land, aquatic, and flying animals, as well as terrestrial and aquatic plants.]”

By that point, Mu Ying’s seventh-tier Spells had only reached the third one, “Control Weather,” and she hadn’t yet mastered the Spell to the standard level.

With four more seventh-tier Spells unlearned, and at her current rate of learning, it seemed it would take over two months to master just one. The remaining four would likely take till the end of the year.

And now she had a new form to cultivate, which added even more to what she needed to learn.

From Level 14 to Level 15, 10,500 Professional Experience was required.

Given her current accumulation rate of about 100 points of Professional Experience per day, it would take her another 105 days or just over three months to level up to Level 15.

Upon reaching Level 15, new eighth-tier Spells would be unlocked, and she was uncertain whether there would be any changes in her Professional Skills.

Thus, she might reach Level 15 and still not have mastered all her seventh-tier Spells, and it was likely she wouldn’t have learned the plant forms either.

Mu Ying had already foreseen a situation where she would have an ever-increasing backlog of Spells and Skills to learn, meaning that before resolving the matters with the Beastman Wilderness, she would struggle to find much time to focus on her learning.

In the past, she might have decided that rushing to the next level without fully digesting the knowledge from the previous one was not ideal.

But it still made more sense to proceed that way.

After learning about the growth process of an ordinary Druid, she realized how difficult her previous determination to master all Spells and Skills before leveling up had been.

Most Druids only learned a few essential Spells, and once they met the requirements, they would level up. They would learn more when they had time, or just let it slide if not.

Whether a Druid learned them sooner or later did not affect much, except for not being able to use the unlearned Spells.

Moreover, with a higher level, learning low-tier Spells became easier, which is why most Druids were very cautious about risking their lives. After learning a few life-saving Spells, they would focus on farming to accumulate Experience for leveling up. Only then would they consider learning low-level Magic.

As long as they lived long enough, they would gradually master all the Spells.

Many Druids only finished learning zero-ring Spells after advancing four or five levels.

This might have been because Mu Ying started with good Perception and didn’t find learning Spells too strenuous at lower levels, so she never noticed this issue.

Now, the Spells and Skills she knew were sufficient to protect her on the Deep Blue Star, under lockdown, where there were few threats to her life.

Since she had no immediate need for survival, she could, like other ordinary Druids, prioritize leveling up.

If Spells and Skills were not urgent, she could delay learning them until a later time when her levels were higher.

Therefore, Mu Ying allocated only two hours a day to practicing Spells and Skills, ensuring she wouldn’t become too rusty from lack of practice.

Once she finished dealing with teaching the Beastman and had earned the Experience, upon her return to Qingshan City, where there were few opportunities to gain Experience, that would be her time to study knowledge on her territory.

So, unfinished Spells no longer caused her to panic; at this stage, leveling up was more critical.

Levels could be achieved at any time; Spells and Skills could be learned anytime. If the level wasn’t reached, the future was much more unpredictable. Mu Ying was well aware of this.
