Chapter 561 - 544 Hypocrite Cold Deer
Chapter 561: Chapter 544 Hypocrite Cold Deer

Actually, it’s faster to go to Snow Mountain via teleportation. By using the Transmission Array, you can reach the great Northwest of Xia Country Region in just a few minutes.

Even the Transmission Array near Luoxia Town in the Northwest is still intact, but the entire Luoxia Town has been buried under the snow. If you teleport there, you wouldn’t know how to crawl out from under the snow.

However, teleporting to the No Master Camp in the Northwest and then probing the Snow Domain would clearly save a lot of time.

Mu Ying chose to ride her broom and leave the territory with great fanfare because she wanted to throw a smoke bomb.

She wanted to investigate Snow Mountain secretly, and even gave up on teleporting after drinking a Disguise Potion.

Because in recent months, the Snow Domain had expanded to the vicinity of the No Master Camp in the Northwest. Although it wasn’t as bad as Luoxia Town, where the entire territory was buried in a valley, many players from the Snow Mountain Camp were active around there, and occasionally even Cold Deer would visit the camp.

When Mu Ying went there to build the Transmission Array back then, it hadn’t reached this extent. Although the Transmission Array was still in good condition, there were too many watchful eyes around that camp now.

Even if she used a Disguise Potion, her unfamiliar face would still be easily targeted there.

The Cold Deer’s ability to manipulate trust was truly formidable. Players from those camps in the Northwest treated them like gods, saying they were the Guardian Gods of Snow Mountain, the Elves of the Snow Domain.

Mu Ying didn’t want to attract anyone’s attention, and not being in the territory for a long time might not remain a secret, so she decided to first ride her broom to the south, then switch to a Magic Flying Carpet and sneak off to the Northwest.

Knowing she was going up against Cold Deer, Furris had given her a lot of information about the Deer Clan during her lectures, which were internal records of the Elf Clan, more comprehensive than what she could see through Biological Recognition and also what Wuyaya gave her in the Monster Atlas.

Cold Deer looked similar to reindeer or stags, were large Cold Magic Beasts, and just a casual glance at an enemy could solidly freeze them.

They were highly intelligent, capable of speaking Universal Language, Dwarf Language, Giant Language, goblin language, Purgatory Language, among others, and possessed Talent Skills such as Powerful Charge, Bump, Defensive Attack, Weapon Creation, as well as Magic-like abilities like Extreme Despair, Ghost Axe Divine Skill, Blood Frenzy, High-level Illusion, Divination, Cold Gaze, Ice and Snow, Hero Banquet.

They expanded their territory by turning it into Snow Domain to breed and gain strength.

The larger the Snow Domain, the easier it was for them to reproduce and the stronger they became.

Every Deer Clan dreamed of conquering the whole world with strength, turning it into Snow Domain, becoming fertile soil for their proliferation and growth.

However, the number of Cold Deer was scarce, and to avoid being targeted by other races when occupying territory, or to prevent loss of living strength in conflicts, they often appeared in front of other intelligent races in cold areas with a façade of kindness to gain their trust.

Some promised to use their incredible Magic Power to make them stronger, or to create food so their tribes no longer went hungry, to provide assistance with handcrafting, or even to share their ability to foresee the future.

As time passed, these races grew to depend on the help of the Cold Deer, and with their guidance, naturally came to regard them as ”Guardian Gods” or ”friends.”

The Cold Deer used this to control and influence these clans, having them invade the tribes next to them with weapons crafted from the ones provided by the Cold Deer. As the fighting continued, more and more tribes fell under the control of the Cold Deer.

By inciting internal strife among other races, exhausting their living forces, and then expanding their snow territories and reproducing during the chaos, the Cold Deer accumulated strength. Once their power was great enough, they would eradicate the other races in one fell swoop and become the world’s overlord.

To Mu Ying, the Cold Deer were a group of ambitious hypocrites. When their clan was not powerful, they went around bestowing favors, creating for themselves an image of benevolence, helpfulness, and foresight, making friends to catch their breath. Only when they had grown would they reveal their true colors.

The appearance and abilities of the Cold Deer indeed looked quite intimidating. Just by looking at their snow-white appearance, their elegance when speaking the human tongue, their ability to conjure delicious food and drinks out of thin air, and their foresight, one could easily be fooled without knowing the true nature of their race.

To many races who loved nature, the Cold Deer were abhorred because they would turn a colorful world into one entirely covered with ice and snow.

Outside, the Cold Deer were active in remote borders, and not many people knew about them.

But once their nature was known, except for those races that also loved the snow domains, most would become enemies that sought to hinder their growth.

In fact, the simplest way to curb the Cold Deer was to widely publicize their true nature. That way, they would basically have no chance to deceive people into turning the entire world into a snow domain.

Given their reproductive abilities, with external interference, they could not expand quickly and would at most occupy a small area.

Mu Ying had tried to publicize the true nature of the Cold Deer to alert those deceived players and prevent them from being used, but alas, human nature is such that with benefits in hand, those players utterly refused to believe that the Cold Deer were evil.

The key point was that the Cold Deer were too good at hiding; they expanded their snow domains through combined spellcasting away from the players.

The snow domain was their territory, and they could not be deceived by any activities or traces on the snowy ground.

To date, only Mu Ying on her magic flying carpet, concealing her form, had ever seen them casting the ice and snow spells.

Currently, the camps in the northwest snowfield were quite chaotic, with frequent conflicts among players. Some astute players sensed something wrong, but since that area was the Cold Deer’s stronghold, numerous players, blinded by greed, could not do much but use the transmission array to leave the northwest, at most.

Mu Ying no longer cared about saving those blinded by greed. Good words are lost on the damned, and she only planned to continue her sly tactics, hunting Cold Deer one by one to address the problem at its source and earn her professional experience.

The snow domain itself was created bit by bit by the Cold Deer through magic-like abilities. Killing the Cold Deer would halt the expansion of the snow domain, and the land would gradually return to its original climate. With her aid, the revival of life would be even faster.

Mu Ying, riding her broom, flew across the sky, and many players around her territory saw her.

She flew south until nightfall before finding a forest land without any other camps nearby to switch to her magic flying carpet.

The broom, having enjoyed a few hours of delightful flight, was once again neglected, adamantly refusing to go into storage. Mu Ying had no choice but to let it stand in a corner of the carpet, draping a cluster of lamp vine over it to serve as a lamp post.
