I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 554 - 537: Priest’s Limit
Chapter 554: Chapter 537: Priest’s Limit

As for the affairs of the Territory Library and school, Mu Ying had a plan.

The best-case scenario would be to follow the example of the ”Book of Druid” that she herself was responsible for compiling, and to have top professionals in other ten professions compile a set of legacy books that could be used up to Legend.

Draco, the First Barbarian Warrior of Deep Blue Star, Vinica, the First Bard, Atom, the First Wanderer, Maz, the First Mage, Li Luoxia, the First Priest—she knew them all and had some acquaintance with them.

Other professionals, like Xie Sen, the First Forest Patrol of the Xia Country Region, Huo Shaobai, the First Warrior, and Li Luori, the First Paladin, were also on the territory.

Even for the Warlock profession, she could think of a way with Shi Yin; he also had a Player Manual. It’s just that he wasn’t on Deep Blue Star at the beginning of the evolution.

The only Profession she did not know personally was the Martial Monk.

Huo Shaobai, the highest level Martial Monk was active in the Bear Country Region. Some time ago, when Mu Ying was pioneering the World of Gods, he had visited Qingshan City, though he had already left. Still, it wasn’t impossible to find a way to enlist his help.

Mu Ying thought that with these contacts and without a lack of money, it was highly possible to get them to help her record the professional knowledge from their Player Manuals, as long as the price was right.

Everyone had a method of contact, except for Vinica and Maz; they were inside the territory, so she could talk to them before leaving. She could also reach Vinica and Maz by calling through the Dingling Flower, only Huo Shaobai was a bit different.

He tested in the test house and, given that the territory has recently launched a combat room, Martial Monks should need close combat practice, and he might come to the territory.

It was precisely before leaving, she needed to explain to Furris. Why not entrust it all to her? However, there was no rush with this matter. She needed to sort out the Space Ring first.

The next morning, after the Elf class was over, Mu Ying said to Furris, ”Sister Furris, I am going to tackle the Cold Deer in the Northwest Snow Mountain soon, so I’ll need you to take care of matters in the territory for me.”

Furris was somewhat worried, ”There are many Cold Deer. Let me send a few Elf Guards to help you, even though we are no longer as strong as you, but helping you with the Cold Deer is still doable.”

Mu Ying shook her head, ”No need, I am going there to accumulate Professional Experience by killing them, and I must kill each one personally. Don’t worry about my safety; I won’t act rashly. Their leader is only Level 11, just one level higher than me. With me in the dark and them in the light, I can even defeat a higher-level Vampire by plot, so these group of Cold Deer are no concern. If it really doesn’t work out, I’ll come back and ask for help.”

Remembering the group of Vampires who had died in an extremely aggrieved manner, Furris showed a hint of intrigue. Mu Ying was truly steady and would not act impulsively, leaving Furris without any reason to object further.

”It’s about the legacy knowledge of professions. I have ideas for the individuals who will record the knowledge for other professions, but I don’t have a Martial Monk contact yet. If I have to find one, it has to be the best. I’ll grant you access to the information search permissions on the Territory Internal Network. While I’m away, please pay attention to the First Martial Monk, Huo Shaobai. If he comes to the territory, please send him a Double Petal Dingling Flower on my behalf so that I can talk to him later,” Mu Ying explained.

Furris thought she misunderstood, ”Wait, you want to gather the legacy knowledge of all professions?”

Mu Ying nodded, ”Don’t we have the responsibility of passing on legacy knowledge in our generation? I want to build a Territory Library and school. Of course, I want it all, preferably knowledge up to Legend, so I have to find professionals with high potential, and get it right once and for all.”

Furris shook her head, ”Not every profession can easily record and pass on its knowledge. You as a Druid can pass on the knowledge of Druids, but it’s not that simple for other professions...”

Furris carefully explained to her the differences between various professions and the situation regarding the inheritance of professional knowledge on other planets, which made Mu Ying realize how naive her previous thoughts had been.

Take, for example, professions that can learn divine arts spells.

Druids and Forest Patrol belong to one category, their spells are derived from nature, and naturally, nature wishes to aid its devotees in increasing their numbers. Mu Ying was already a Druid, and she could inherit the Druid knowledge; even finding a Forest Patrol to pass on their knowledge wouldn’t be an issue.

However, for professions like Priest and Paladin, whose spells come from personified deities, their spells cannot be simply copied down by others who wish to serve as Priests. The key lies in the power source of the deity.

This wasn’t something Mu Ying could handle by simply gathering a few books.

Furris told her that in the outside world, Priests and Paladins are officiated in specialized divine temples.

Many powerful gods also establish temples on other planets to nurture some local Priests and Paladins, not to leverage the Law Power of alien planets, but simply to reduce the suppression by the laws they experience on alien worlds.

These Priests and Paladins either remain as legends for life or are extradited back to the planet of the deity, becoming a subordinate god within that deity’s divine system.

Given the circumstances where divine positions on well-established planets are mostly taken, becoming a subordinate god is also a decent option for many—it’s still a godly status, and one can control a portion of the Power of Laws.

Priests and Paladins who wish to ignite their own Divine Fire solely with their power must give up their reliance on the power of deities and reforge themselves; small-minded gods would not let people leave easily. However, the Evolution Center screens and selects the deities that are allowed to recruit Priests, focusing on those that are powerful and not concerned with such small gains. Moreover, they have signed contracts with the Evolution Center and will not obstruct the Priests and Paladins from leaving the divine temple.

Since Druids like Mu Ying derive their power from nature, which is essentially from the laws themselves, they don’t have this hidden danger. However, if someone in this world becomes the God of Nature, other Druids probably can only strive for other subordinate divine positions related to nature like harvest or seasons.

Thus, for professions such as Priest and Paladin, it’s practically impossible for Mu Ying to leave behind inheritance books.

Next, there’s the Mage profession. Spell gifts from the Evolution Center require players to spend their own money at the general store to purchase.

Mu Ying thinks it’s also unlikely that she could convince Maz to take out her collection of spells.

Once the world’s lockdown is lifted, the spell gifts sold on consignment in the general store by the Evolution Center will end, and affordable spells will no longer be available.

It could be said that Mages are the most powerful among the magic professions, but at the same time, they are also the most difficult, with extremely high learning costs. High-level magic is very precious in the outside world, and ordinary Mages rely on selling Magic Scrolls to save money for learning resources – this is how all Mages make it.

Learning magic is very expensive for Mages; spells cost money, and spell casting also costs money, many spells require Spell Casting Materials.

Unlike divine arts spell-casting professions, the spell power either has already obtained the permission of the laws, or has been allowed by a god who controls the corresponding laws. Mages casting spells are essentially leveraging the Law Power with their own spiritual energy to manifest it, and they can’t do it without some material assistance.
