Chapter 559 - 542: The Wealthy Lady Lord
Chapter 559: Chapter 542: The Wealthy Lady Lord

”Guarantee to complete the mission!”

Mu Ying did not expect things to go so smoothly. Recording Huaxia’s culture before the apocalypse and preserving books for inheritance was something he had also considered, but compared to Huaxia language education, it was far more complicated and required even greater investment.

He had secretly crunched the numbers; the territory’s financial situation was quite healthy, but that did not necessarily mean a significant profit.

Several mining camps supported so many people, yet their output had no stable market and did not earn much money. One of the territory’s biggest sources of income, the entrance fee, was also gradually decreasing due to the growing number of official residents. Only the tree house rent and shop taxes remained relatively optimistic.

But the territory’s net profit was definitely not that high, especially after the construction costs of hundreds of Transmission Arrays within the area and several Cross-Regional Transfer Arrays in the second half of last year. To this day, the original investment hadn’t even been recouped!

Plus, the New Year red envelope rain and the treasure chest prizes from the cemetery were no small expenditures. The territory probably didn’t have much money left; having two thousand Gold Coins on the books would already be a lot.

To be honest, Lu You felt that the territory might not have the capability to manage a school, especially with the operations expanded to such an extent.

Setting up a comprehensive vocational education college requires substantial investment, not just one or two. Researching and developing courses, compiling textbooks during the preliminary preparation stage already entails considerable expenses, not to mention the subsequent hiring of teachers and construction of educational facilities.

And Mu Ying’s intention is that the basic education section shouldn’t seek profit, as long as it can maintain revenue. Future tuition fees would probably only cover costs.

Lu You always felt that Mu Ying, as a Lord, didn’t seem too focused on making money. He couldn’t even bear to discuss recording and inheriting Huaxia culture, as it would increase the burden on the territory. That’s why he hadn’t included it in the proposal earlier, but Mu Ying brought it up herself and even encouraged him to go ahead with it.

Now, Lu You started to worry, ”Isn’t the investment in the education sector too much? Is there a risk of inadvertently bankrupting the territory?”

Mu Ying glanced at him with amusement, ”It doesn’t matter if the territory goes bankrupt, don’t you still have me? My wealth is beyond your imagination.”

Saying this, she grabbed a handful of Purple Gold Coins from her Divine Ring and flaunted them in front of Lu You.

”Gold Coins?” Lu You saw the faint purple glow, ”No, these are Purple Gold Coins?”

Mu Ying nodded, ”Still worried I’m short on money?”

Lu You quickly shook his head; how could he dare!

One Purple Gold Coin is 10,000 Gold Coins. Just the small handful in Mu Ying’s hand, roughly counted, had about twenty coins. If she gave him just one, he would feel confident in getting to work.

Now he understood why Mu Ying had the audacity to establish Transmission Arrays with all the camps in the Xia Country Region and build Cross-Regional Transfer Arrays with other areas. The financial power of a wealthy woman was beyond his comprehension.

”There’s a saying on the forum that’s really on point!” Lu You said, ”Other Lords are supported by their territories, but Qingshan City is supported by its Lord!”

”Cough, cough, cough!” Mu Ying, who had just put on airs, almost choked on her tea while trying to maintain her composure, ”That’s not entirely true. What I’m doing is called investment, understand? Qingshan City is also mine! What’s wrong with spending money on my own land? Anyway, I don’t have anywhere else to spend my money.”

”Would the wealthy lady care to share some secrets to becoming rich?” Lu You asked sycophantically.

”You wouldn’t be able to learn!” said Mu Ying, without any good cheer.

Could she admit that it all came from ’nibbling on her family’s wealth’? That would be too embarrassing to say out loud!

”Alright, enough of that. You go pick a Tree House to use as the Education Department office. However you want to renovate and decorate it is fine, the expense is to be covered by Professor Du. Then, bring me your detailed plan as soon as possible.

Additionally, I have granted you partial access to the Territory Internal Network. This Dingling Flower is for you, too. If you cannot reach me through the network, use this.

The heavy responsibility of education in our territory is now in your hands. If you can implement the entire educational plan, organize the construction of the Territory Library and schools, you will not lack bonus Contribution Points, and there will be rewards for every stage. Even becoming a Star-level resident is not out of reach!”

Mu Ying felt a solid sense of being a boss, promising him a big reward, then sent them on their way, for fear she couldn’t keep up her act if they stayed longer.

After leaving, Lu You felt as if he’d been injected with chicken blood, full of determination and vigor.

His mind was nimble, but his cultivation talent was far behind the first tier, so he became more interested in this.

Moreover, the Lord had money, so he had no worries about the future, and immediately wanted to make a big impact and implement his ideas about education in the new world.

The term ”new world” was also one of his ideas.

Most players still describe the time as the years of the apocalypse, but he felt this description was not very good; it should be a new beginning instead.

Utilizing the Huaxia cultural calendar would be a good move, giving the new world a calendar to start from scratch. This year should be New Year Third Year!

Mu Ying, having sent away Lu You and the others, remembered that he hadn’t added Lu You to the work group yet, and immediately opened the Territory Internal Network to add him.

[Qingshan City Territory Work Group]

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): ”Welcome Comrade Lu You, the Education Director of our territory! @all members”

Lu You (Education Director): ”Please take care of me everyone! [Lucky Money Red Packet]”

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): ”Welcome, welcome, you’re too polite!”

Furris (Lord’s Secretary): ”Welcome!”

Du Jinlan (Business Director): ”Welcome, welcome! Education is a fundamental issue, don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it!”

Zheng Jing (Beast Taming Director): ”Welcome, welcome, good to see an old friend!”

...

Mu Ying watched the harmonious atmosphere in the group with satisfaction and then dropped a bombshell.

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): ”Going out tonight, return date uncertain, contact Dingling Flower if you need anything! @all members”

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): ”Caught a Lord cutie preparing to slip away!”

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): ”I won’t lie, I’m indeed the hands-off manager!”

Lu You (Education Director): ”I haven’t even started writing my proposal yet! When can you come back?”

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): ”Don’t know, I plan to go to the Snow Mountain area to trouble the Cold Deer, I’ll be back when I’ve dealt with them.”

Zheng Jing (Beast Taming Director): ”I heard the area of the Snow Domain in the Northwest has expanded quite a bit. Be careful and stay safe.”

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): ”Go for it! Waiting for you to come back!”

...

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): ”Thanks! Oh, and remember to keep this a secret, especially from the forums. There are already player spies near the Cold Deer.”

Lu You (Education Director): ”Understood!”

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): ”Understood!”

...

Only then did Mu Ying close the Territory Internal Network and teleported to the Plantation.
