I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 552 - 535: A Legendary Prospect
Chapter 552: Chapter 535: A Legendary Prospect

Mu Ying slapped her thigh and stood up, she knew what she had to do!

”Sister Furris, thank you, you’ve helped me a lot! Here are some fruits I just picked, for you to enjoy!”

A basket of fruit was stuffed into Furris’s arms, and the fruit giver had already vanished after a few jumps.

Furris shook her head with a smile, took a fruit, and bit into it: ”At last, you’re showing a bit of the little elf’s hustle and bustle!

Mu Ying had already run back to her Tree House to ponder over how to pass on knowledge.

Her thoughts were even simpler than what Furris had said.

The idea of gaining favor with the Law to increase her chances of igniting the Divine Fire was too distant for her.

She had just leveled up to Level 10, eight levels away from Legendary Rank and ten from Divine Rank.

The Professional Experience required for each future level would only be more than what she currently needed, so instead of worrying about Divine Positions, she was more concerned with basic issues like Professional Experience.

Currently, she still had several backup channels for Experience.

Firstly, from plants, including the routine care of plants and patrolling the forests, and also cultivating plant seeds that Draco brought from the Second Trial World.

However, there weren’t many such samples, and she couldn’t follow her approach in the Emerald World, where she would study the cultivation method in the Trial World first, and then convert it for planting—it only required a single seed, which was very Source Power-efficient.

She could ensure a hundred percent satisfaction for Draco’s needs by telling him the uses and characteristics of the corresponding plants, but cultivation was not an easy task, and the success rate was not very high.

If that didn’t work out, she could also materialize some extinct seeds from the World Book of the Emerald World, study them there, convert them, and earn the reward for cultivating new types of plants.

But such consumption of Source Power was a bit large since materializing extinct species from the World Book already required a significant investment of Source Power. Relying on this alone definitely wouldn’t be enough to support her leveling up so many times later on; it might not even be enough for a few exchanges, and the effects would also take time to manifest.

Staying in her territory and accumulating Experience through planting was a possibility, but it was too slow.

Mu Ying was actually quite eager to improve her strength because she knew that Qingshan City wasn’t far from breaking through to become a City-level Territory.

Furris had already risked being punished to inform her that Qingshan City was just lacking in resident numbers to reach City-level; the day of breakthrough would come when the population reached one hundred thousand.

The current population of Qingshan City was over fifty thousand, close to sixty thousand.

Considering the growth rate of the population, the target would be met in at most three years.

How many levels would she have by then?

With the cultivation method as usual, she feared that she would barely reach Level 12, and without a large number of new plants, she couldn’t even guarantee that speed.

Such strength was too weak!

Perhaps she bore the title Daughter of the Elf God and didn’t have to worry about being killed by others, but could she protect Little Stone? The Underground City was too precious.

She didn’t believe that her little tricks could deceive real powerhouses, Grandpa Shom had already seen through her, and wouldn’t other individuals of Legendary Rank see through her as well?

Fortunately, Demigods and Gods who had touched the threshold of the Law, even if they traveled outside, wouldn’t take an interest in the Underground City.

At their level, it was the laws and divine power that were fundamental.

The underground city was just a treasure that could bring money, wealth, and status, none of which were important to demigods and gods.

But for those below the status of demigod, including legends, wealth and status were still very important.

To avoid such a situation, she could only become stronger.

The time it took to lift the seal determined how many trialist spots the mother star would receive later on. The more trialists there were, the more source power the mother star would gain, and Mu Ying wouldn’t slow down the unveiling of the seal.

So Mu Ying quietly set a goal for herself, to strive to level up before the world’s seal was released in three years, and ideally, reach the legendary rank.

Only then, along with her status as the Daughter of the Elf God on Deep Blue Star, could she maintain her current intimidation power and protect her territory and Little Stone and the others.

However, to achieve this goal, proceeding with cultivation as usual wouldn’t cut it; she needed to find other, faster ways to gain experience.

The other two alternative experience-earning channels she had in mind were just so.

One was the Cold Deer tribe in the snow mountains near Luoxia Town. Exterminating them would surely grant her experience value rewards just like destroying the Fishman Altar did.

Initially, she discovered there were roughly twenty to thirty Cold Deer, with the highest leader being Level 11.

Although the Snow Domain wasn’t advantageous for her, Mu Ying felt that if she was cautious, there was still hope. She planned to check it out soon; the Level 11 leader provided a challenge, but she had outwitted Sharon before, and as long as the difference in levels wasn’t too vast, she was confident she could find an opportunity and take action.

The other was the task up north on the wasteland, educating the Beastmen. This matter required her to be stronger before acting upon it.

Although she considered herself to be doing a good deed, helping the Beastmen survive, wanting to do it quickly and well without sufficient strength wasn’t feasible. Strength was the bargaining chip that made others sit down and talk properly with her. Otherwise, going to the wastelands and into a Beastman Tribe to say she was there to help would show their hostility towards outsiders and what that would entail.

To intimidate the Beastmen, she would need to be extra strong, especially since this intimidation would be one against many.

Therefore, she placed this task after her visit to the Snow Mountains.

She calculated the experience value needed for each level and found there was a pattern; the increase was incremental, with the increase being a few hundred per level.

For instance, to level up from Level 9 to Level 10, the experience value increased by 1,000 from the previous 4,500 to 5,500. Then, for Level 11, it would be 6,600, for Level 12, 7,800, and so on, up to Level 18 requiring 80,400 experience.

With just these two tasks, to reach Level 18 was still not enough, even if she nurtured all the damaged land afterwards to help restore vitality.

But Sister Furris mentioned something today that filled in a missing piece for her.

Passing on the knowledge of the Druids on this planet and enhancing it to get more people to join the Druids’ family and protect nature would certainly be beneficial to nature, and nature would surely reward that, right?

Based on her understanding of nature, it never shortchanged those who worked for it. Every time she did something beneficial for nature, she received hefty experience rewards.

Although the Player Manual showed it as experience, in reality, it was the power bestowed upon her by nature, which was the reward itself.

Unlike priests whose strength came from personified gods and could be retracted, nature lacked a personified consciousness; it was the law itself.

With this method, she finally had a glimmer of hope that she could become a legend within three years.
