I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 551 - 534 Knowledge Heritage
Chapter 551: Chapter 534 Knowledge Heritage

I was originally just comforting myself, but as I comforted myself, my thoughts suddenly went off track, leading me to a question.

Since the babies born after the city-level territory competition don’t get any benefits, couldn’t we exploit a bug, like not upgrading to city-level, or delay the time to become a city-level territory, to allow more players to freeload on the benefits and accumulate more early-stage advantages?

Mu Ying sent a message to Furris, asking for her location, and then teleported to her side—on a tree in Elf Village.

”Sister Furris, there’s something I don’t quite understand...” Mu Ying broached the question she had just thought of.

Furris tapped her forehead, ”You wish, but that’s not possible. There’s a deadline for the city-level territory competition. After a territory is promoted to city-level, the competition ends, the world lockdown is lifted, but the Doomsday Game is fundamentally a welfare version to help with the world’s upgrade, and it only runs for ten years. Beyond that time, the city-level territory competition will automatically become void, and the lockdown will still be lifted.”

”Ten years is quite a long time though,” Mu Ying calculated, realizing that only two and a half years had passed, and Qingshan City definitely wouldn’t need more than seven years to upgrade to a city-level territory, at most two or three years would be enough.

”Don’t even think about dragging it out to five years. The sooner the lockdown is lifted, the faster the world evolves and the greater its potential. This timeline affects the Evolution Center’s assessment of the world’s potential, which is a very important criterion for the number of Trialists spots the universe distributes and is very important for the world. Missing out on it is hard to make up for, but there are other ways to compensate for profession inheritance,” Furris thoroughly dispelled her idea and continued to explain in detail.

”The Evolution Center doesn’t treat all the new world profession knowledge inheritance gifts the same, mainly because they come from different sources, and each profession is managed by different departments, so there are some discrepancies.

Professions involving Divine Arts, such as Priests, Paladins, Druids, and Forest Patrols, derive their professional knowledge from corresponding Gods.

Priests and Paladins worship personified Gods, and their Spells are given by powerful Gods selected by the Evolution Center’s subsidiary Priest Association allowed to preach on Deep Blue Star.

Druids and Forest Patrols, professions that worship nature, receive their professional knowledge from the evolution of the natural laws of Deep Blue Star, as gifts to the first batch of followers. Of course, the specific professional knowledge also comes from the Evolution Center’s subsidiary Druid Association and Forest Patrol Association, but they have granted the authority to the planet’s natural power itself.

The professional knowledge of other professions comes from the corresponding professional associations of the Evolution Center. Among them, Mage players benefit the least, as their professional spell knowledge isn’t automatically obtained and is the same as in the outside world; they have to collect it themselves.

This is also because Mages inherently believe in the principle of equivalent exchange; a Mage’s strength comes entirely from oneself, even for Mages in new worlds, there are not many privileges.

The only advantage they have over players from the outside world is that any general store sells Magic Scrolls.

These Magic Scrolls are actually put up for consignment in the general stores by the Evolution Center’s Mage Association. Mage players with a ”household registration” on Deep Blue Star just need to give money to obtain the corresponding spell knowledge, and the types available are quite comprehensive.

In the outside world, not just any ordinary grocery store sells spells.

Overall, the various professional associations of the Evolution Center are equivalent to the comprehensive inheritance departments of the entire Multiverse power system, but they only provide complete inheritance to the newly born worlds, and there won’t be such an opportunity later on.

So you players who have enjoyed the benefits also bear the task of inheriting knowledge for the future of this planet. As long as you have learned something, you can pass it down through written records or by teaching it in person. However, you cannot teach others what you haven’t learned, even if you possess knowledge bestowed by the Evolution Center.

If your generation fails to seize the opportunity to learn and pass on the corresponding professional knowledge, you can still find opportunities to learn from other planets that have inherited the knowledge, or Trialists can use Source Power to purchase and relearn it at the professional associations in the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial Multiverse City.

Therefore, the key is to preserve the Trialists of this planet. As long as there are Trialists, we need not fear the discontinuation of professional inheritance.”

Mu Ying nodded in understanding. ”It seems I should consider matters of knowledge inheritance too. Maybe it’s time to establish a Territory Library or a school.”

”That’s a good idea,” Furris said with a smile. ”Don’t underestimate the power of knowledge. There was once a Legendary Druid in this world who had no hope of becoming a god. On a whim, he found a barren, lifeless small planet and spent centuries improving its ecological environment, turning it into a habitable Life Planet. He then brought many little orphans, who hadn’t learned to speak yet, from other planets to this one to raise and teach.

Since the planet had no intelligent Race, they all gained the planet’s recognition, and as these little orphans grew up and reproduced, the planet became more and more vibrant.

All knowledge was handed down from him, and he was essentially the founder of the planet’s natural ecosystem and life. It was only natural that he ignited the Divine Fire, becoming the sole god of nature, life, and knowledge in that world. Although his Divine Power was weak due to the planet’s strength, he still achieved immortality.”

Mu Ying listened with her mouth agape. The actions of this predecessor were incredibly impressive!

”Does this mean that anyone who controls all the knowledge on a planet can gain the Divine Position of knowledge?”

”Not all, but as long as one controls most of the knowledge on a planet, they can gain the right to represent the Law of knowledge, ignite the Divine Fire, and become the God of Knowledge,” Furris explained. ”Knowledge itself is powerful. However, it’s only possible for a barren and closed-off planet without a history of intelligent life to give birth to a God of Knowledge. On larger planets, knowledge is dispersed among many people, with the Evolution Center being the source. The chances of igniting Divine Fire through knowledge are slim. I’m not suggesting you monopolize knowledge to become a god through it. Knowledge is powerful in its own right and is one of the Laws that govern the world. It is tightly connected with other Laws. Inheriting it brings significant benefits, not just from the knowledge itself but also as a method to curry favor with other Laws. There are many Laws, both major and minor. Who becomes their representative and ignites the Divine Fire depends on which Laws favor whom the most.”

Mu Ying seemed to understand. Gods in the real world differ from those in the World of Gods because Divine Race in the World of Gods is born with affinity for Laws, but in reality, one must earn the favor of natural Laws. Moreover, Divine Positions in reality are for life; as long as nothing untoward happens, gods will live as long as the Laws themselves, without their Divine Power diminishing to death.

”After the world’s lockdown is lifted, if I record the knowledge of the Druids and help pass it on to the next generation, nature will be pleased, right?”

Furris nodded.
