Chapter 582 - 565 Selling Red Apples
Chapter 582: Chapter 565 Selling Red Apples

Someone noticed Mu Ying’s gaze, grinned at her, and said to their companion, ”Look, the Lord is so pleased, she’s even looking at us!”

Mu Ying: ”...”

Oh well, she should be more tolerant.

Fortunately, apart from this socially awkward monument, the celebration was just as Li Luoxia had said, without any other ”fancy” ceremonies, more like a banquet for sharing joy with everyone.

Having forgotten the monument, Mu Ying began to enjoy herself.

The Trialists were seated together at a table, and turning her head, Mu Ying could see Maz rubbing his temples while sitting in his seat, not very eager to eat, even though Li Luoxia had ordered the meal from the best restaurant in Qingshan City! One could tell at a glance that he hadn’t rested well.

Mu Ying walked over and handed him a red apple: ”Try this!”

Maz, inspired the day before, had accidentally spent the whole night researching spell structures, and now felt listless and muddled, with a throbbing pain at his temples. The headache also affected his appetite, making him feel slightly nauseous despite the lavish and delicious spread on the table, which everyone else was enjoying; but because of his headache, he could hardly stomach it.

Seeing the red apple Mu Ying offered him, Maz took a reluctant bite, but with just that one bite, he felt a difference, and not just in taste.

Mainly because after one bite, his headache seemed to ease, his appetite returned with a vengeance, and he quickly finished the apple. After eating, he felt as though all the aftereffects of his overnight vigil had vanished, almost like he’d had a full night’s sleep.

God knows how long it had been since he had a good night’s sleep, with a Magic List so long, each spell like a little fairy seducing him; he felt uneasy even in his sleep until he mastered them.

”What kind of apple is this?”

”It’s a special product of my Trial World, with the effect of restoring energy and spiritual power. How do you feel? Is the effect good?” Mu Ying asked him curiously.

The information from the Biological Recognition probe was too general, stating it would replenish a small amount of energy and spiritual power, without knowing exactly how much.

She herself had been getting less and less sleep, so eating the apple didn’t make much of a difference to her. On the road, she had fed Da Ming some meat produced by the Small World, but since Da Ming was a Griffin, his description of the effects wasn’t very clear either.

”The effect is just too good, just one apple can recover from the aftermath of an all-nighter; I haven’t felt this energized in a long time,” said Maz, who now felt relieved from the headache and much more spirited, which greatly lifted his mood, making the food on the table even more enticing.

Mu Ying nodded her head, thinking that one red apple was enough to recover the energy lost after a night of staying awake, a pretty decent effect indeed.

”Do you have more of these apples? How much Source Power? I want to exchange for more, they’re really useful,” Maz said.

If he could eat a red apple every day, he wouldn’t have to worry about staying up late ever again! No more need to waste time sleeping, giving up the wonderful world of spells because his body couldn’t take it.

”This type of apple tree has a low fruiting rate, with only three apples per tree, but in my Trial World, there are quite a lot of them. To convert a red apple, it’s 1 Source Power each,” Mu Ying explained.

This was indeed the conversion price for a normal red apple in the Square World.

However, in her Small World, there were several apple orchards, and the apples didn’t need to be converted; they could be picked directly.

”I’ll exchange for 103 to start with! I’ll find you to exchange more when I’ve finished these!” Maz said without hesitation.

If he hadn’t previously exchanged gems with Li Luoxia, Skill Books and Enchantment Books with Mu Ying, and Inscriptions Page with Edwin, spending a large sum of his Source Power, and hadn’t felt the need to exchange anything else for a while, he might have neglected his trials altogether.

If it hadn’t been for Mu Ying mentioning that the trials were related to igniting Divine Fire in the future, and his desire to become a god, to have a longer life with more time to learn, he might have given up on trialing entirely.

The Light Mage profession was so time-consuming that he felt he didn’t have enough time to fully comprehend everything, and other cultivation methods available in the trial just didn’t appeal to him anymore.

Fishing for three days and drying the nets for two, he had only accumulated so little Source Power. Otherwise, he would have wanted to exchange for even more.

It looked like he couldn’t afford to relax during future trials; he couldn’t do without these apples!

Maz transferred all the Source Power he had to Mu Ying.

Mu Ying looked at the number with some whole digits and some fractions and felt vaguely uneasy. She hadn’t emptied Maz’s account, had she?

But she was broke now too, having drained her Source Power savings when she transformed her Small World. It seemed perfectly normal for her to earn some Source Power using the output from her Small World; it was a matter of mutual benefit!

Mu Ying quickly assured, ”I’ll transform it during tonight’s trial, and give it to you tomorrow morning. Once you’ve used them all, just give me a Dingling Flower call, and I’ll transform some more for you!”

He was her major customer, after all!

The others didn’t study as intensively as Maz, unwilling to spend too much Source Power on such consumables.

Only Vinica ordered 10, while Draco subscribed for 50.

They purchased them to keep on hand for emergencies.

Vinica, who traveled year-round, sometimes didn’t dare rest in dangerous places, making red apples particularly useful in such situations.

Draco, on the other hand, wanted to be prepared in case he got lost in the wilderness again, now that he had a resource-rich Second Trial World at his disposal.

With Mu Ying’s help, he had learned to make good use of various plants in the forest of the Trial World to improve his living conditions, so even if he got lost, he didn’t have to worry about going hungry.

However, opportunities to rest peacefully in the wild were rare, and red apples could alleviate this problem.

Ever since that terrifying experience of getting lost, he couldn’t help but hoard things.

Mu Ying gained 163 points of Source Power from this batch, just a little less than what she earned from a night’s trial.

Ever since she had transformed her Small World, she felt her Source Power reserves stretched too thin. If she didn’t use up all of her Trial Time in a day to earn back some Source Power, she wouldn’t even have enough to purchase paid Trial Time the next day.

Unlike before, when she got busy, she could buy her daily Trial Time quota and save it up to use when she had the time.

Without saving some Source Power for turnover, she would waste much of her daily Trial Time quota if she got too busy to trial in the future.

Vinica had other matters to attend to and needed to leave that evening, so Mu Ying simply changed her schedule, arranging to enter the Trial World in the afternoon to pick the apples for them, content only after she settled back in her seat to enjoy her meal.

Actually, the apples were already prepared. The apples from the orchard next to the Goblin Plain in her Small World had been picked nearly clean and stored in her space because only after the apples were harvested would the trees bear a new batch.

The Goblin Plain was the same plain where the Gem Trees grew.

After the midday banquet, Mu Ying found Li Luoxia to arrange a rest room for herself and went off to ”trial.”

At the end of the trial, she simply had to take the apples out from her space.
