Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 144: Chapter 118: Not Just a Security Guard, But Also a King of Soldiers

Yang Shao, one of the four notorious bullies, stormed toward the Security Brigade on the east side of the campus with his three henchmen: Qin Long, Baihu, and Lao Niu.

Along the way, Yang Shao cursed furiously, ”Damn it! A mere security guard dared to hit my woman. He’s really tired of living.”

Trying to curry favor, Qin Long said obsequiously, ”Boss, when we get there today, why don’t we just kill that security guard and be done with it?”

Baihu, trailing on the far right, pulled out a machete from his waist. ”Boss, just give the order, and I, Baihu, will be the first to charge in and cut down this little security guard.”

Lao Niu recalled seeing Zhao Rong when he first arrived at the university. ”Boss, that little security guard’s name seems to be Zhao Rong. He’s not tall, quite thin, and looks so frail he probably couldn’t even truss a chicken. Forget the four of us; I, Lao Niu, could go alone and I guarantee I’d finish him off.” As he spoke, Lao Niu thought confidently to himself, With my height of 1.8 meters and weight of 100 kilograms, I can do more than just beat Zhao Rong up—I can utterly crush him.

Compared to his three lackeys, Yang Shao looked down on Zhao Rong the most. I’m the undefeated champion of Xijing University, and you, a puny security guard, think you can act tough? Just watch me beat you to a pulp, he thought.

With that, Yang Shao led his thugs in a mad dash, full of murderous intent, toward the Security Brigade where Zhao Rong was stationed.

Just as they were about to reach the brigade, they ran into Fei Shao, who had just sent several of his own cronies off in an ambulance. Fei Shao and Yang Shao were both counted among the four notorious bullies.

When Yang Shao saw Fei Shao, he quickly asked, ”Fei Shao, I’m on my way to beat someone up. Are you free? Come join the fun.”

Although Fei Shao had just sent his three followers—Xie Eryang, Tattoo Man, and Vest Man—off in an ambulance, he perked up immediately at the mention of a fight. He slapped his chest and declared, ”Yang Shao, I, Fei Shao, don’t have many hobbies, but my favorite pastime is bullying men and preying on women! Since there’s a fight, how could you leave me out?”

With that, Fei Shao got ready to follow Yang Shao into battle. As he trailed behind, he thought, Damn it, that punk Zhao Rong just crippled my brothers. I’m furious and have nowhere to vent this rage. Since Yang Shao is calling me to a fight, this is the perfect chance to let loose.

However, when Fei Shao followed Yang Shao to the entrance of the Security Brigade on the east side of campus, he froze. Staring at the security office before them, he looked at Yang Shao with wide eyes. ”Yang Shao, you said you were going to beat someone up. Who exactly are you here for?”

Yang Shao pointed at the gate of the security building. ”Damn it, that new security guard, Zhao Rong, had the gall to hit my woman. I’m here to give him a beating and get some payback for her.”

Hearing that the person Yang Shao wanted to beat was none other than Zhao Rong, the very security guard who had taken him down, Fei Shao gasped. ”Yang Shao, are you serious? You’re really here to fight Zhao Rong?”

Seeing the look of terror on Fei Shao’s face, Yang Shao said confidently, ”Of course. I’m here to beat up that new little security guard, Zhao Rong. What’s the matter? You scared?”

Fei Shao vividly recalled how ruthlessly Zhao Rong had dispatched his three lackeys, Xie Eryang, Tattoo Man, and Vest Man. He couldn’t help but say with lingering fear, ”Yang Shao, you don’t understand. That security guard, Zhao Rong... he’s a magician. When he fights, he can conjure the most unbelievable things.”

Hearing that Zhao Rong could conjure weapons out of thin air during a fight, Yang Shao immediately wondered, Can this little security guard really pull out badass weapons like AK-47s, Uzis, rocket launchers, or grenade launchers?

So, Yang Shao asked, ”What kind of powerful weapons can that Zhao Rong conjure up when he fights?”

Fei Shao’s expression turned grave. ”That guard’s weapons are incredible! We’re talking manhole covers, electric kettles...”

Hearing this, Yang Shao and his henchmen were so shocked they stumbled and fell to the ground.

Yang Shao scrambled back to his feet and glared at Fei Shao. ”Damn it! I thought this security guard was some kind of badass who could pull out super weapons. Turns out it’s just a bunch of scummy tricks.”

Hearing Yang Shao’s dismissive tone, Fei Shao warned him, ”Yang Shao, there’s something you don’t know. I... I actually already fought Zhao Rong just now.”

Hearing that Fei Shao had already fought Zhao Rong, Yang Shao thought, Looking at him, he’s completely unscathed. He and his brothers must have given Zhao Rong a thorough beating.

But before Yang Shao could finish his thought, Fei Shao continued, ”Yang Shao, I took three of my brothers to beat up Zhao Rong. He came out without a scratch, but he put all three of my guys in the hospital.”

Yang Shao was incredulous. ”Is it really that bad?”

Fei Shao began listing the examples. ”My good brother Xie Eryang was kicked straight into a stinking ditch and nearly drowned. He’s in the ambulance right now getting chest compressions and artificial respiration. My lackey Tattoo Man had his fingers, wrist, and forearm broken by Zhao Rong. They’re all comminuted fractures; even the hospital can’t set the bones. My other subordinate, Vest Man, was electrocuted by Zhao Rong and nearly died.”

Hearing how formidable Zhao Rong was, especially about Vest Man nearly dying from electrocution, Yang Shao couldn’t help but wonder, Could this security guard Zhao Rong be like an electric eel? Can he actually discharge electricity? Otherwise, how could Vest Man have been electrocuted to the point of near death?

Listening to Fei Shao build Zhao Rong up into some kind of monster, Yang Shao said with disbelief, ”Fei Shao, I think Zhao Rong just spooked you. If you’re too scared to come in with us and beat him up, then you can leave. We’ll go in ourselves.”

With that, Yang Shao led his gangsters and charged toward the security office.

Inside, the security team leader was pouring Zhao Rong a glass of water while Security Guard Xiao Liu was brewing him some tea. The team leader handed the glass to Zhao Rong and said, ”Zhao Rong, I’ll be honest with you. When you first joined our security team, I looked down on you. I thought you had no physique, no looks, and no money. I even despised you. But just now, when you beat up one of the school’s notorious Young Masters, Fei Shao, right in front of all those students, I had an epiphany. Zhao Rong, you’re not just a security guard, you’re more like a retired ’Soldier King’!”

Hearing the team leader speculate that he was a ’Soldier King,’ Zhao Rong laughed. ”Brother, you give me too much credit. I’m just a humble security guard. How could I be some ’Soldier King’? I think you’ve been reading too many of those military web novels,” he added with a chuckle.

Meanwhile, Security Guard Xiao Liu finished brewing the tea and respectfully held the cup to Zhao Rong’s lips. ”Zhao Rong, when we started working together, I thought my skills were better than yours and that my ability to handle problems and emergencies was far superior. But the moves you just showed... they were a real eye-opener. Zhao Rong, don’t lie to me. You must be a master who completed his training on some sacred mountain and has now descended into the mortal world, right?”

Hearing Xiao Liu compare him to the hero of a fantasy novel, Zhao Rong said modestly, ”Xiao Liu, you’ve misunderstood. I’m just a working stiff, same as you.”

Just as the security team leader and Xiao Liu were admiringly questioning Zhao Rong, Yang Shao suddenly burst in with Qin Long, Baihu, and Lao Niu.

Seeing four uninvited guests storm into the small security office, Zhao Rong immediately stood up. He saw that all four intruders were armed and instantly understood they were here for revenge. Qin Long held a dagger, Baihu brandished a broadsword, Lao Niu clutched a machete, and their leader, Yang Shao, had a sharp knife hidden up his sleeve.

After charging in, Yang Shao pointed at the people in the room. ”Damn it, who is Zhao Rong? Get out here!”

Seeing Yang Shao’s menacing entrance, the security team leader quickly tugged on the corner of Zhao Rong’s shirt. ”Zhao Rong, this is Yang Shao, one of the most famous bullies in our school. He’s known for being reckless and ruthless. You can’t provoke him.”

Xiao Liu was even more terrified. ”Zhao Rong, you’re a good fighter, but Yang Shao’s men are all armed! They’re clearly here to kill someone. You have to run! Don’t fight them!”

Despite his colleagues’ warnings, Zhao Rong neither fled nor hid. Instead, he leaped in front of the four men. ”I’m the security guard Zhao Rong you’re looking for. What do you want with your grandpa?”

Seeing that this short, skinny, and mild-looking security guard was the very same Zhao Rong that Fei Shao had described as a ruthless fighter, Yang Shao suddenly burst out laughing. ”So, you’re the so-called badass security guard Zhao Rong? You don’t look as impressive as Fei Shao made you out to be.”

Qin Long looked at Zhao Rong with even more contempt. ”Kid, we’re all taller than you, we’re all heavier than you, and we’re all stronger than you. If you don’t want to die, get on the ground right now, kowtow, and call us your grandpas. If you do, we might just spare your life.”

Baihu rushed out of the security office and waved to the nearby students. ”Hey, everyone, come over here! Our boss Yang Shao is going to live-stream himself beating up a school security guard! Come watch the show!” With that, Baihu took out his phone, opened the Douyu streaming app, and started a live broadcast.

Lao Niu brandished his machete. ”Zhao Rong, you don’t look like someone who knows how to fight at all. Since you can’t fight, how dare you bully our boss’s woman? You’re just asking to die.”

Watching the gangsters brag so shamelessly, Zhao Rong feigned terror. ”Oh no, you’re right! I’m just a little security guard, how could I possibly know how to fight? Please, don’t hit me! I’m scared to death!”

As Zhao Rong pretended to be afraid, an ever-growing crowd of students gathered at the door of the security office. They all whispered among themselves, wondering how a mere security guard could possibly defeat Yang Shao, one of the school’s four notorious bullies. Today, it seemed likely that the security office would be stained with Zhao Rong’s blood.

When Yang Shao saw Zhao Rong’s terrified expression, he laughed inwardly, thinking, Fei Shao, didn’t you say this little security guard was a total badass who put your brothers in the hospital? Today, I, Yang Shao, will show you how to properly teach a lesson to a punk like this!

As this thought crossed Yang Shao’s mind, Qin Long, standing to his left, raised his knife and charged at Zhao Rong.
