Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 113: Chapter 93: Maple Leaf Bar, A Place to Meet

At that moment, the assistant seated beside the Red Romance proprietress saw the extra dinner plate placed on the opposite side of her table. In an instant, he understood.

Apparently, this beauty isn’t dining alone but with someone else, the assistant mused. I wonder which incredible disciple from the True Martial Sect she’s eating with? I must find out... I’ll just wait and see who comes to sit across from her.

Seeing that Zhao Rong was still hiding under the table, the Red Romance proprietress said to him, ”Come out now, or else I’ll join you.”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong was stunned. If the Red Romance proprietress crawls under the table too, I’m definitely going to be exposed, he thought.

Meanwhile, the three beautiful women sitting at the adjacent table had begun to talk. When they heard the proprietress seemingly talking to herself, Lili said with bewilderment, ”How odd. Who is that beautiful woman at the next table talking to?”

At this critical moment, Zhao Rong suddenly spotted a man on a bicycle hawking masks just outside the cafeteria. In a flash, inspiration struck him. He immediately used his Special Abilities. With lightning-fast steps, invisible to those around him, he dashed out of the cafeteria.

Zhao Rong grabbed a mask at random, put it on his face, and rushed back inside, taking a seat across from the Red Romance proprietress. At that moment, he had no idea what kind of mask he had grabbed. With my luck, at the very least, I should have grabbed a mask of some handsome guy like Kris Wu, the celebrity Andy Lau, action star Jackie Chan, or pop star Jacky Cheung, right?

However, when the Red Romance proprietress saw Zhao Rong stand up wearing a mask, she couldn’t help but burst into laughter. She spat out her food as she howled, ”Seriously? You were crouching under the table all this time just to put on a mask? But of all the masks you could have chosen, you had to pick a Zhu Bajie one? That’s hilarious...”

When Zhao Rong appeared opposite the Red Romance proprietress wearing a Zhu Bajie mask, the assistant’s jaw nearly hit the floor in shock. His eyes widened as he thought, What the heck... I clearly saw an empty plate across from the beauty with no one there. How did a Zhu Bajie suddenly pop up out of nowhere?

Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian were also stunned speechless. They couldn’t help but marvel, ”How could such a beautiful woman be eating with someone in a Zhu Bajie mask?”

Right then, Zhao Rong just wanted to scarf down his food and leave as quickly as possible.

Watching Zhao Rong wolf down his meal, the Red Romance proprietress laughed and said, ”Why on earth are you wearing a Zhu Bajie mask? It’s hideous. Take it off.” As she spoke, she reached out to remove Zhao Rong’s mask.

Seeing her about to take off his mask, Zhao Rong quickly came up with another excuse. He altered his voice and said, ”I have too many fans. If I didn’t wear this mask, I’d be mobbed in the cafeteria with requests for photos and wouldn’t be able to leave.”

Upon hearing this, the Red Romance proprietress actually believed him. ”Oh, so that’s why,” she said. ”In that case, wearing a Zhu Bajie mask makes sense. Otherwise, those young girls can be a real handful.”

With that, the two of them got up and walked toward the cafeteria entrance. When the assistant saw the beautiful woman finish her meal and leave with the man in the Zhu Bajie mask, he was deeply disappointed. He couldn’t help but think about the night to come. ”Alas,” he said forlornly, ”another fresh flower is about to be ravaged by a pig.”

After Zhao Rong and the Red Romance proprietress left, darkness had fallen. When Zhao Rong escorted her to the gate of the True Martial Sect, he finally took off the mask.

Seeing Zhao Rong drop her off at the gate and prepare to head back, the Red Romance proprietress said reluctantly, ”Zhao Rong, since you’re free tonight, why don’t you join me for a drink at a bar?”

Hearing her mention going to a bar for a drink, Zhao Rong was momentarily stunned. This is the exact move I used to use on the younger girls back in school... Don’t tell me the Red Romance proprietress is using it on me now? But hey, I’m a man and she’s a woman. Since she’s making the offer... I should definitely walk right into the trap. If I miss this chance, there won’t be another one.

Thus, Zhao Rong looked at the Red Romance proprietress and said, ”Although I’m not much of a drinker, I must accept your invitation.”

With that, Zhao Rong followed the Red Romance proprietress out of the True Martial Sect’s main gate and headed straight for the nearby Maple Leaf Bar. The Maple Leaf Bar was the most famous bar in the vicinity of the True Martial Sect, especially known for romantic encounters.

Just as Zhao Rong and the Red Romance proprietress entered, the three women and the assistant, feeling down after their meal, also decided to head to a bar. As it happened, the bar they chose was also the Maple Leaf Bar.

Once Zhao Rong and the Red Romance proprietress were inside, a bartender warmly welcomed them and seated them in the southernmost corner. As they settled in, chatting and drinking, the assistant and the three women walked in.

When the three women entered the Maple Leaf Bar, they immediately captured the attention of every man in the room. A middle-aged man with a small mustache eyed the trio and couldn’t help but say to his friend, ”Xiao Hei, did you see the three beauties that just came in?”

Xiao Hei had very dark skin; at a glance, he looked a bit like he was from the Congo. His eyes were glued to the three women. ”Boss, if you ask me, those three are definitely the most beautiful women in the bar tonight.”

Hearing this, the man with the mustache gave a lecherous smile. ”Xiao Hei, so you’re interested in them?”

Xiao Hei had the desire but not the courage. ”What if I am? Didn’t you see they came in with a man?”

Listening to Xiao Hei, the man with the mustache carefully observed the assistant before making his judgment. ”Xiao Hei, in my opinion, that guy with them is just a useless oaf. Why don’t we get the three beauties drunk, knock out that simpleton, and take the ladies to a hotel...”

Hearing this, Xiao Hei’s imagination ran wild. ”Boss, that’s a great idea, but the girls might not want to drink with us.”

At this, the man with the mustache sleazily pulled a few pills from his pocket. ”Xiao Hei, just slip these pills into the three beauties’ drinks. Once they’ve had a sip, they won’t have a choice in the matter.”

Xiao Hei looked at the pills in his hand with interest. ”Boss, are these the legendary ’One Drink, Fall Thrice’?”

One Drink, Fall Thrice was a type of knockout drug. Whoever drank it would pass out immediately and completely forget everything that happened.

Looking at the pills, Xiao Hei said excitedly, ”Boss, you’re really something else, coming to a bar prepared with such potent pills! It looks like we’re definitely going to succeed with these three beauties tonight.”

The man with the mustache nodded. ”Go over and put one pill in each of their drinks. Remember, don’t mess it up. I have a limited number of pills, so don’t you dare drop one in that big-bearded guy’s glass. There are only three.”

Xiao Hei nodded, took the three pills, and headed toward the three women and the assistant.

At that moment, the assistant and the three women were sullenly drinking beer. Lili, who liked Harbin beer, took a sip and said, ”We went through so much trouble today. I really have no idea where Brother Zhao Rong went.”

Yu Lan, who preferred Tsingtao, said, ”If I find Brother Zhao Rong, I’m going to punch him twice in the chest. He’s making me so mad.”

Xuelian, drinking a Budweiser, said, ”I think Brother Zhao Rong must have gone back to his dorm by now. After we finish our drinks, let’s go find him there.”

The assistant, despite being a big, burly, bearded man who looked as rugged as Zhang Fei, couldn’t handle his alcohol. Whenever he drank, he not only had an allergic reaction but also became a raging drunk. So, he wasn’t drinking alcohol; he was drinking Wahaha AD Calcium Milk.

Just as the three women were drinking their beer and the assistant was sipping his milk, Xiao Hei came over to hit on them. He had barely sat down and hadn’t even opened his mouth when Lili remarked, ”Whoa, a Black guy just came over. He looks like an African American.”

Yu Lan disagreed. ”This guy is way too dark. He’s obviously not American; he must be from somewhere in Africa south of the Sahara Desert.”

Xuelian judged, ”The man has thick lips, a wide nose, and is ugly. He looks like one of those unevolved people from near the equator...”

Before he could even start flirting, Xiao Hei had been thoroughly insulted by the three women, his face turning ashen with rage. Just as he was about to speak, the assistant suddenly piped up, ”Hey, want to bet if this guy can understand Chinese?”

Some of the women said he could, others said he couldn’t.

”Ladies, let me find out for you,” the assistant said, wanting to test his theory. ”If I curse at him and he glares at me, it means he understands. If he just smiles at me, it means he doesn’t.”

Then, looking at Xiao Hei with a smug grin, the assistant let loose a stream of curses, ”You stupid son of a bitch, go fuck your mother!”

Hearing the assistant curse at him for no reason, Xiao Hei nearly coughed up blood from anger. ”Hey!” he shot back. ”I have no beef with you. Why are you cursing at me?”

The assistant was stunned. He stared at Xiao Hei and said, ”Damn! For a Black guy, your Mandarin is incredibly fluent. That’s awesome.”

”This Black guy speaks really good Mandarin,” Lili added.

Hearing this, Xiao Hei became even more furious. He shot to his feet, his face red with anger. ”Don’t you dare slander me! I’m a true-blue Chinese man, through and through! My skin is just a little dark, that’s all! How dare you say I’m some unevolved person from Africa?”

When the three women and the assistant realized that the man before them wasn’t African but Chinese, they were all dumbstruck.

The assistant marveled, In all my life, I’ve never seen a Chinese person this dark.

Lili mused, This Chinese man has a hell of an exotic look.

Yu Lan thought, If he’s mixed-race, the mix didn’t turn out well.

Xuelian reflected, If I were as dark and ugly as him, I’d just kill myself to avoid being such an eyesore.

Before Xiao Hei even had a chance to drug them, he had been roasted to tears by the three women and the assistant. He sobbed a few times and cried out, ”I just wanted to come over and chat you up! Did you have to insult my character like that?

”I know I’ve been short, dark, and ugly since I was a kid... but no one has ever humiliated, mocked, and ridiculed me like you all just did!”

With that, Xiao Hei ran away, crying. He scurried back to the man with the mustache, wiping his tears. ”Boss, I can’t do it. I couldn’t even get the pills close to them before those three women and that guy completely chewed me out.”

Seeing Xiao Hei return in defeat, the man with the mustache took the pills from his hand and said, ”Fine, I’ll go myself. I refuse to believe I can’t take down those three beauties tonight...”
