Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 112: Chapter 92 The beautiful young lady is crazy for...

At that moment, Zhao Rong, who was snickering in the restroom, heard Yu Lan’s words and was immediately scared out of his wits. Damn it, I’m done for. Yu Lan has really found me out. He was already racking his brain, trying to figure out how to explain to the three young women that he had spent the day with the Hong Lang Man proprietress behind their backs...

Suddenly, Lili appeared. She called out to Yu Lan from a short distance away, ”Yu Lan, didn’t you say you were going to the restroom? Why are you over here talking to a stranger?”

It turned out Yu Lan wanted to see if her guess was correct: that the assistant hadn’t gone to the restroom at all but had instead started hitting on the pretty woman nearby. That was why she had used the excuse of needing the restroom herself. In reality, she had come to confirm the assistant’s deplorable behavior. When Yu Lan discovered that the assistant was indeed the type to get starry-eyed at the sight of any beautiful woman, her contempt for him grew even stronger.

So, you little punk, you were just pretending to have a crush on me. The truth is you fall for every pretty girl you see.

With that thought, Yu Lan turned to Lili and said, ”Lili, I think I just heard someone laughing loudly in the restroom. It sounded a bit like Zhao Rong. Quick, come take a look!”

Hearing this young woman mention Zhao Rong, the Hong Lang Man proprietress was taken aback. Just as she was about to ask about the young woman’s relationship with Zhao Rong, Lili beckoned to Yu Lan. ”Stop hearing things. I think you’re just imagining things because you haven’t seen Zhao Rong in a while. Come on, let’s keep looking for him.”

Hearing Lili tease her, Yu Lan didn’t overthink it and went with her.

After Yu Lan left, the Hong Lang Man proprietress watched her receding figure. What is that girl’s relationship with Zhao Rong?

Just then, Zhao Rong emerged from the restroom. He let out a long sigh of relief. Whew, that was a close call. Luckily, Lili showed up just in time to save the day. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

As Zhao Rong was feeling fortunate, the Hong Lang Man proprietress looked at him questioningly. ”Zhao Rong, who was that young woman just now? Why was she looking all over for you?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong was startled, but he quickly thought on his feet and explained, ”Oh, her? She’s just a fan of mine...”

When she heard the young woman was a fan, the Hong Lang Man proprietress nodded. ”Young girls these days... they spend all their time chasing celebrities instead of finding a proper partner.”

As she spoke, she chuckled to herself. This Zhao Rong certainly has some charm, making a pretty young girl like that so crazy about him.

After that, Zhao Rong continued to guide the Hong Lang Man proprietress around the grounds of True Martial Gate. Although his expression seemed relaxed as they strolled around, he was actually extremely tense inside. He was terrified of running into the three young women and the assistant, who were searching for him all over campus.

Luckily for them, they didn’t encounter the group for the rest of their tour. After a long day of walking, they were both tired and hungry.

Zhao Rong looked at the Hong Lang Man proprietress and said, ”Miss, are you hungry? Allow me to treat you to a meal.”

Her stomach grumbling, the proprietress replied, ”I had no idea your True Martial Gate was so huge... It feels like I’ve climbed the Great Wall! Since it’s time to eat, let’s go get something.”

Zhao Rong thought about the school’s cafeteria and deemed it too dangerous; it was always crowded and full of people he knew. So, he suggested, ”Miss, since you’re hungry, I’ll take you to the Haidilao outside campus. We can have hot pot.”

Hearing his suggestion to eat off-campus, the Hong Lang Man proprietress was reluctant. ”Since I’ve come all the way to True Martial Gate, you should take me to your cafeteria. I want to try the food and see what it’s like.”

Under her repeated insistence, Zhao Rong had no choice but to lead her into the cafeteria through a side door.

It was peak mealtime, so the cafeteria was packed with students. Although Zhao Rong led her in through a side entrance, they still drew the gazes of many nearby students. After all, compared to the young women on campus, a charismatic woman in her thirties like the Hong Lang Man proprietress, who was brimming with feminine allure, was a rare sight. As rarity commands value, everyone was captivated by the mature woman at Zhao Rong’s side.

Just as Zhao Rong and the proprietress sat down, Hu Jie, who loved to parade around with women on his arm, happened to walk in and immediately started putting on a show. With his arms around two young women, he looked at all the single guys around him and said loudly, ”Xiao Hong, Xiao Lan, why are you two always clinging to me? I can’t seem to shake you off! Don’t think you can capture my heart just because you’re young and pretty...”

With that, Hu Jie grinned, looking around and expecting to be the center of everyone’s envious attention. To his astonishment, however, not only did he fail to capture anyone’s gaze, but no one was even looking in his direction.

At that moment, Zhao Rong and the Hong Lang Man proprietress stood up to get their food. Instantly, every eye in the cafeteria fixated on them.

Seeing that Zhao Rong had stolen his thunder, Hu Jie angrily berated the two young women beside him. ”Xiao Hong, Xiao Lan, can’t you two do anything right? You can’t even draw a few envious glances? You’re both useless! Get lost!”

With that, Hu Jie and his companions slinked away from the cafeteria dejectedly.

Just then, Wang Jingang entered with his two lackeys, Yellow Hair and Big Silly, ready to eat. As soon as they walked in, they were surprised to spot Zhao Rong not with his usual three companions, but with a beautiful, mature woman instead.

Wang Jingang couldn’t help but be startled. He muttered, ”Damn, that Zhao Rong... isn’t he usually with Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian? Why did he switch up the menu today? And with such a beautiful, mature woman!”

Yellow Hair was also shocked. He looked at Big Silly and Wang Jingang and asked, ”Has Zhao Rong found someone new?”

Big Silly stared at the woman next to Zhao Rong, practically drooling. ”Damn, this guy has some serious luck with women. Three young beauties aren’t enough, so now he’s added a mature stunner to the mix?”

Amid the students’ sighs and envious whispers, Zhao Rong calmly ate his meal with the Hong Lang Man proprietress.

Just as they were about to finish, Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, and the assistant entered through the main doors of the cafeteria.

As soon as she was inside, Lili complained, ”Where on earth did Zhao Rong go? We’ve been looking for him all day and haven’t found a single trace.”

Yu Lan, parched from the search, licked her lips and said, ”Ah, let’s eat first. We can continue looking after we’ve refueled. I refuse to believe we won’t find him.”

Xuelian was also drenched in sweat from running around all day. She tied her loose hair up and said, ”It’s mealtime. I wonder if Zhao Rong is hungry. If I knew where he was, I’d order him some takeout right now.”

In contrast to the three women’s genuine concern, the assistant had more sinister intentions. The moment he entered the cafeteria, his eyes began scanning the room like he was searching for a fugitive. As he searched, he said to the women beside him, ”It’s mealtime. We need to keep our eyes peeled while we eat... Zhao Rong could be right here in the cafeteria.”

As he spoke, his gaze swept toward the table where Zhao Rong and the Hong Lang Man proprietress were sitting.

The moment Zhao Rong saw the assistant and the three women, he froze, then immediately dove under the table to hide.

Seeing Zhao Rong, who had been enjoying his meal just a second ago, suddenly disappear under the table, the Hong Lang Man proprietress was astonished. She looked down at him and asked, ”Zhao Rong, why did you crawl under the table?”

Thinking fast, Zhao Rong offered a ridiculous excuse. ”Miss, you don’t know me well. After every meal, I have to squat for a bit... It helps the food settle, so I can eat more.”

Hearing that squatting after eating could help with digestion, the proprietress, though surprised, thought she understood his reason for being under the table.

When the assistant’s gaze fell on the proprietress’s table, his eyes widened. He stared at her. Isn’t that the woman I tried to hit on near the grove today? Why is she in the cafeteria eating by herself?

The assistant decided he had to lead the three women to sit near her. His thinking was simple: if he was closer, he’d have another chance to talk to her.

Just then, Lili spotted a clean, empty table not far away. ”Let’s go, let’s sit there. It’s just right for the four of us,” she said, pointing.

Hearing that Lili wanted to sit far from the proprietress, the assistant quickly made an excuse. ”Lili, that spot is too far from the food windows. It’ll be a hassle to get our meals. I’ll take you to a better spot. It’s clean, not crowded, and it’s convenient for getting food.”

With that, the assistant led the three women directly toward the Hong Lang Man proprietress’s table.

When Zhao Rong, still hiding under the table, saw that pest of an assistant leading the three young women directly toward his table, he was utterly stunned. Why does this guy always have to ruin my day? He’s bringing them right over to the table I’m sharing with the Hong Lang Man proprietress! Now how am I supposed to get out from under here and finish my meal?

Just as Zhao Rong was at a loss, the proprietress looked down at him again. ”Zhao Rong, you’ve been squatting for a while now. The food in your stomach should have settled, right?”

”Um... right... It’s settled,” Zhao Rong stammered.

Noticing his strange expression, the proprietress said, ”Well, if it’s settled, then come on out from under the table. It’s so indecent for a grown man to be hiding under there, especially since I’m wearing a skirt.”

Her words snapped Zhao Rong back to reality. He suddenly remembered that the Hong Lang Man proprietress was wearing a miniskirt... Staying under the table like this was indeed highly inappropriate.

Just as Zhao Rong was about to crawl out, the assistant and the three women sat down at the table right next to theirs.

Instantly, Zhao Rong felt trapped between a rock and a hard place.

Stay under the table, and I look like a creep... Get out, and I risk a beating...
