Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 108: Chapter 89: The Old Blade Really Hasn’t Dullied

At that moment, Achilles, who had just thrown a punch, saw Zhao Rong facing his mysterious-rank intermediate Martial Technique, the Ancient Dragon Soaring Fist. Zhao Rong wasn’t running, nor was he even trying to dodge. Instantly, Achilles’s heart blossomed with joy.

Zhao Rong, I used this very same Ancient Dragon Soaring Fist to kill your Zhenwu Sect’s number one expert, Zheng Mongna Lisa. Now, I’ll use the same technique to kill you. After you’re dead, let’s see who in your Zhenwu Sect dares to claim the title of top expert!

However, as Achilles’s fist shot forward, he felt it hit something soft and incredibly elastic. It didn’t just cushion and dissipate the energy; it rebounded his own force right back at him. Suddenly, his punch, having landed on the mattress in Zhao Rong’s hands, ricocheted back and struck his own forehead.

With a dull thud like the tolling of a bell, the punch Achilles had thrown with all his might bounced back and hit him square on his own head. When the crowd saw Achilles hit himself, they were all stunned. The once aggressive and ferocious Achilles flew back several meters before collapsing at the edge of the martial arts arena.

Zhao Rong looked at the mattress in his hands and thought to himself, Damn, this pure natural rubber mattress is incredible! The elasticity is amazing, absolutely fantastic.

Tossing the mattress aside, Zhao Rong walked over to the motionless Achilles lying on the ground. When he saw Achilles’s forehead, he gasped. There, on his head, was the clear imprint of his own fist. It was obvious that Achilles’s skull was fractured, and a fractured skull meant death.

Using his last ounce of strength, Achilles looked at Zhao Rong and said in a dying breath, ”Zhao Rong, it’s not that you’re stronger than me, it’s that you’re luckier... The first time, when I was about to kill you, some bastard threw a tarp over me. The second time, just as I was about to finish you, some goddamn popcorn vendor shot at me and blew me away. This time, just as I was about to kill you again, some unknown Simmons mattress dealer had to suddenly throw a mattress onto the arena... Zhao Rong, this is my bad luck... and your good fortune...”

With those words, Achilles breathed his last.

Seeing that Achilles was no longer breathing but his eyes remained open, Zhao Rong squatted down. He gently closed Achilles’s eyes with his hand and said, ”Brother, if you become a ghost, don’t hold a grudge against me. It wasn’t I who killed you. You punched a mattress, it bounced back onto your head, and you ended up killing yourself.”

At that moment, the students and vendors below the arena were dumbfounded when they saw Zhao Rong defeat Achilles, the top expert of the Wild Wolf Sect.

The vegetable vendor who had been cheating customers by short-weighting them was so frightened that his scale clattered to the ground. He looked up at Zhao Rong and stammered, ”As the old saying goes, heroes come from the young. This Zhao Rong is truly a genius...”

The porridge vendor, who skimped on sugar and only used saccharin, was so scared that the bag of saccharin in his hand dropped to the floor. ”In ancient times, there was Huo Yuanjia; today, we have Zhenwu Sect’s Zhao Rong! Above, there is the God of War Erlang; below, there is the War General Zhao Rong! On TV, we have action stars; right here, we have a true master of Martial Arts!”

A Zhenwu Sect disciple, who had been eating fried dough sticks and drinking cola while burping incessantly, was so startled that his food and drink tumbled to the ground. ”I never thought our Zhenwu Sect would see the day we defeat the Wild Wolf Sect! The heavens are watching, and fortune’s wheel truly does turn...”

Another Zhenwu Sect disciple, who had skipped breakfast to save money for game point cards, was so shocked that his cards scattered across the floor. ”Zhao Rong, as our Zhenwu Sect’s top expert, you really live up to your reputation! You’re so damn awesome!”

In contrast to the astonishment of the crowd, Miss Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian were ecstatic. They danced with joy, celebrating Zhao Rong’s victory.

Miss Lili, dancing the tango, exclaimed, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I knew you could defeat that damn top expert of the Wild Wolf Sect!”

Yu Lan, doing a tap dance, added, ”Brother Zhao Rong, I knew it! That Achilles, who was frozen all night and suffering from a cold and a high fever, was no match for you!”

Xuelian, performing an awkward dance, declared, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re not just my knight in shining armor, you’re the Prince William of my heart!”

Tao Hua also joined in, busting out the Melbourne shuffle. She said excitedly, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you always manage to defeat the strong while weak, the great while small, and the advanced while a novice!”

Amid the roaring cheers, Zhao Rong descended from the arena like a returning hero.

Just as Zhao Rong was leaving in triumph after defeating Achilles, news finally reached Mage Erzhen that Achilles, the number one expert of the Wild Wolf Sect, had brought two underlings to the gates of the Zhenwu Sect to get revenge on Zhao Rong.

When Mage Erzhen heard the news, he was overjoyed. He couldn’t stop grinning as he spoke to his sycophantic disciple, Wang Jingang, ”Jingang, haven’t we been worried about how to deal with that troublesome Zhao Rong? Now, it seems someone has already taken care of the problem for us. We didn’t even have to lift a finger.”
