Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 142: Chapter 116: One of the Four Young Villains, Fei Shao

At that moment, Zhao Rong, the Security Captain, and Security Guard Liu were walking toward the school’s security office.

When the Security Captain saw Fei Shao approaching with his sidekick, Xie Eryang, and a few thugs, he quickly pulled Zhao Rong aside to take a detour. ”Fei Shao is coming,” he whispered. ”Let’s stay out of his way.” As he spoke, a look of pure terror spread across his face.

Pulled to the side of the road, Zhao Rong got a good look at the approaching thugs. Their leader, the so-called Fei Shao, was tall and brawny. He wore a thick gold chain, his hair was in braids, and he sported sagging pants with a pair of flip-flops, carrying himself with an air of extreme arrogance.

Zhao Rong glanced at Fei Shao with disdain and said to the Security Captain, ”He’s just some punk. Why should we get out of his way?”

Seeing that Zhao Rong not only refused to move but had also insulted Fei Shao, the terrified captain stammered, ”Zhao Rong, Fei Shao is one of the four great bullies of Xijing University! He’s the type who would actually kill someone. We can’t afford to offend him, or the consequences will be unimaginable...”

Before the Security Captain could finish, Fei Shao and his group had already reached them.

Fei Shao sneered, looking Zhao Rong up and down and flashing a mouth full of yellow teeth. ”So you’re the school’s new security guard?”

Before Zhao Rong could answer, the Security Captain hurried forward, bowing deeply. ”Fei Shao, hello! Yes, this is Zhao Rong, the new guard in our security squadron.” He then patted Zhao Rong’s back, silently telling him to be more deferential when speaking to Fei Shao.

However, in stark contrast to the captain’s bowing and scraping, Zhao Rong stood ramrod straight, his posture defiant. ”That’s right, I’m the new security guard. What of it?”

Standing behind Fei Shao, Xie Eryang saw Zhao Rong’s utter lack of respect. He took a step forward, glared at Zhao Rong, and snarled, ”Hey, security guard, you got a death wish? Who do you think you are, talking to our boss like that?” He looked ready to lunge forward and teach Zhao Rong a lesson.

Fei Shao held him back and turned his attention back to Zhao Rong. ”What’s your relationship with those three new beautiful students who arrived today?”

Zhao Rong knew his mission at Xijing University was to secretly protect Miss Lili and her two friends. He had to keep his identity under wraps. So, he maintained his proud stance and replied, ”No relationship. Just the normal one between a security guard and some students.”

”Since there’s no relationship,” Fei Shao warned, ”you’d better stay far away from those three girls from now on.”

It was obvious that as soon as Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian had set foot on campus, they had instantly become the three new campus belles of Xijing University.

Hearing Fei Shao’s threat, Zhao Rong took a step forward and shot back, ”Who the hell do you think you are? My business is none of your damn business.”

The Security Captain was horrified to hear Zhao Rong speak so insolently to Fei Shao. He quickly jumped in front of Zhao Rong, pleading, ”Fei Shao, please, don’t be angry! Zhao Rong is new to our security squadron. He just got here, he’s green, he doesn’t know your... uh... I mean, he doesn’t understand your power! Please, calm down, don’t get angry.”

Finished, the captain shot Zhao Rong a sharp, frowning glance. ”Zhao Rong, do you want to die? How dare you provoke someone like Fei Shao?”

Just then, one of Fei Shao’s lackeys, a man covered in tattoos, stepped out. He pointed a finger at Zhao Rong’s nose and shouted, ”Security guard, are you looking to die? I’m going to kill you right now!”

As he spoke, the Tattooed Man threw a heavy punch at Zhao Rong.

Facing the blow, Zhao Rong didn’t use his Martial Technique, nor did he activate the True Qi in his Dantian. Instead, he simply used his Special Abilities: Instant Teleportation.

With a speed invisible to the naked eye, he snatched a manhole cover from nearby and held it up in front of him.

BANG!

The Tattooed Man’s fist slammed directly into the solid steel. Not only were his five fingers shattered, but his wrist, forearm, and even his shoulder were fractured from the impact.

Seeing the man smash his own flesh and blood against a steel manhole cover, Zhao Rong chuckled. ”You’ve got guts, kid. You think you’re Iron Man or something, punching a manhole cover with your bare fist? Impressive. I’m truly impressed.” With that, he casually tossed the manhole cover aside.

The Tattooed Man collapsed onto the ground, howling in pain as he clutched his mangled arm. ”Damn it! Why is this guy carrying a manhole cover?!”

Xie Eryang was stunned, his eyes wide with disbelief. This pathetic security guard was clearly empty-handed a second ago! Where did he suddenly get a manhole cover? Is he a magician?

While Xie Eryang was still trying to figure it out, another of Fei Shao’s thugs, a man in a tank top, jumped forward. He yelled arrogantly, ”Hey, guard! Don’t think you’re the only one who knows magic tricks. I’m even better at it than you!”

As he spoke, the Tank-Top Man produced a dagger as if from nowhere and lunged, aiming for Zhao Rong’s stomach.

Facing the armed man, Zhao Rong once again used his Special Ability: Instant Teleportation. At that very moment, a male student was scurrying out of the campus hot water room, having just stolen a girl’s large kettle. He clutched the kettle and hurried toward the dorms, terrified of being discovered. With imperceptible speed, Zhao Rong snatched the kettle from the student’s hand and emptied its boiling contents all over the charging Tank-Top Man.

The Tank-Top Man let out a pig-like squeal, dropping his dagger and hopping frantically in place. ”We both know magic, but I only pulled out a dagger! I didn’t think you’d pull out a kettle of boiling water! It burns! Help me, save me!”

Screaming, the Tank-Top Man bolted toward a nearby rockery fountain. As he neared the pool, he looked at the cool water and felt a wave of relief. I might be scalded, but I’m lucky. There’s a fountain right here. If I jump into the cold water, I’ll be fine.

With that thought, he leaped toward the icy water of the fountain.

Seeing someone about to jump in, a nearby electrician who was working on the wiring yelled out, ”Hey! The fountain is leaking electricity! It’s under repair! Don’t go in, you’ll die!”

But the warning came too late. The moment the Tank-Top Man hit the electrified water, he was instantly electrocuted.

The electrician walked over to the fountain and looked at the floating body with pity. ”What a fine young man. Why would he commit suicide?”

When Zhao Rong saw the Tank-Top Man get electrocuted in the fountain, he couldn’t bear to look. ”I just wanted to teach you a lesson,” he muttered. ”I didn’t want to kill you. Why’d you have to go and commit suicide?”

Just as everyone thought the Tank-Top Man was dead, he suddenly started to climb out of the fountain. Soaked and half-dead, he gasped for air, stared at Zhao Rong, and wheezed, ”I’ve... I’ve seen magicians before... but never one like you. This guy can pull a manhole cover out of thin air... and a kettle of boiling water... In all my life... I’ve never seen a badass magician like you...” With those final words, he collapsed on the ground and passed out.

Xie Eryang, seeing Zhao Rong use a kettle to scald the Tank-Top Man, snatched the kettle from the ground and marched forward to confront him. Coincidentally, the girl whose kettle had been stolen and her muscular boyfriend were just now chasing after the thief from the hot water room.

When the muscular boyfriend saw the very kettle that belonged to his girlfriend in Xie Eryang’s hand, he charged. ”You pervert! How dare you steal my girlfriend’s kettle! I’ll kill you!”

At that same moment, Xie Eryang, holding the kettle, was right in Zhao Rong’s face. ”Hey, security guard! Why’d you use a kettle to scald my little brother?”

Zhao Rong looked past him at the charging bull of a man. ”Buddy,” he warned, ”there’s someone behind you coming to beat you up.”

Xie Eryang just laughed. ”You think a pathetic little trick like that is going to fool me? You want me to turn around so you can ambush me? Don’t think I’m that stupid...”

Before he could finish his sentence, the muscular boyfriend arrived and launched a flying kick that sent Xie Eryang soaring through the air. The man then picked up the kettle and grumbled, ”Damn it. Of all the kettles to steal, you had to steal my woman’s. You must really want to die.” He then turned and walked back toward his girlfriend with the kettle.

Seeing Xie Eryang get kicked into a nearby stinking ditch, Zhao Rong let out a breath. ”I told you someone was coming to get you, but you wouldn’t listen. Didn’t believe me. Well, I guess you believe me now. That’s what you get for ignoring good advice.”

Submerged in the filthy water, Xie Eryang was barely conscious. He sputtered, ”Security guard... I thought you were fighting alone... but now I understand. You’re not fighting alone...” Then he passed out.

The previously arrogant and untouchable Fei Shao had watched this all unfold. When he saw how an insignificant little security guard had taken down his three followers in such a short time, he instinctively took a step back. He pointed a trembling finger at Zhao Rong and stammered, ”You... security guard... I’ll let you off today. Next time, I’ll teach you a real lesson...”

With that, Fei Shao turned and fled.

Seeing one of the school’s four great bullies, who had terrorized the campus for so long, get run off by the new security guard, the Security Captain and Security Guard Liu gave Zhao Rong an enthusiastic thumbs-up.

”Zhao Rong,” the captain said, full of praise, ”as a security guard, you’ve really brought honor to all of us here at Xijing University!”

Security Guard Liu clapped as well. ”Zhao Rong, that was amazing! That’ll teach those bullies to look down on us guards! That’ll teach them to bully us!”

Zhao Rong brushed the dust off his clothes and returned the manhole cover to its proper place. ”Those bullies judge everyone by their own low standards,” he said. ”So what if we’re security guards? We may not be students, but we are still an important part of Xijing University.”

When the surrounding students saw the new security guard teach a lesson to Fei Shao—a tyrant who bullied everyone on campus—they all broke into applause. Some of the pretty girls even came up to ask for his phone number and WeChat.

Just as Zhao Rong was about to exchange contact info with a beautiful girl, his phone rang. He looked at the screen and saw it was Miss Lili. He froze. Could Miss Lili be in danger?

He answered the call, and Lili’s panicked scream came through the phone. ”Zhao Rong, get to our dorm, quick! The four evil girls—Big Earrings, Ion Perm, Liu 13, and Cheng Na—they’re here and they’re tearing our room apart!”
