Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 124: Chapter 102: This... Can Be..._2

When everyone saw the assistant suddenly start waddling like a duck, they were all stunned. Zhao Rong looked at Tao Hua and asked, ”Tao Hua, didn’t you give him the antidote? Why is he suddenly walking like a duck?”

Hearing this, Tao Hua was also puzzled. ”That’s not right,” she said. ”My antidote should have definitely cured him. Could the cola he drank and the spicy strips he ate have caused a chemical reaction with my antidote?”

Lili thought Tao Hua had a point. ”The assistant has always been a glutton,” she said. ”He not only loves junk food but also drinks all sorts of unhealthy beverages. Your antidote probably had a chemical reaction after it entered his stomach...”

In contrast to everyone’s astonishment, the assistant was walking quite briskly. Waddling along, he said, ”This gait may not be pretty, but it feels so cool! It’s completely different, totally unique...”

Just as the assistant was feeling proud of his waddle, an old man burst out of the gatehouse. He landed a swift side kick, sending the assistant flying. The old gatekeeper then dusted off his foot and grumbled, ”No wonder girls have been complaining about someone with a ridiculous walk peeping on them in the showers. So it was you! I’ve finally caught you.”

The assistant was sent sprawling. Lying on the ground with the whites of his eyes showing, he groaned, ”I may be poor and down on my luck, but do I deserve a beating just for walking funny?”

The old gatekeeper then pulled a steel pipe from the gatehouse. ”You good-for-nothing, peeping on girls in the shower! I’m going to teach you a proper lesson today and show you that this old blade is still sharp!”

With that, the old man rushed forward with the steel pipe and began thrashing the assistant.

Seeing the old man had the wrong person, Zhao Rong and the four beauties rushed to pull him away. ”Sir, please stop! You’ve got the wrong person. He’s an assistant, not some pervert who peeps on girls!”

Hearing he had made a mistake, the old man frowned. ”That can’t be right. I’ve had several complaints from the girls. They said it was someone who walks exactly like this, always peeping on them in the showers.”

Tao Hua explained to him, ”Sir, he was afflicted with a staggering poison yesterday. I just gave him the antidote, but it seems to have had a chemical reaction inside his body. That’s why he’s walking this way.”

Realizing he had attacked the wrong person, the old man shrank back and sheepishly retreated into the gatehouse.

Zhao Rong stepped forward with the girls to help the assistant to his feet. He sighed, ”We can’t let him keep walking around like this, or he’ll just get beaten up again.”

As they carried the assistant toward the dormitory, Zhao Rong told the other three beauties about his plan to go into secluded cultivation with Tao Hua in a cave for forty-nine days.

When the three beauties heard Zhao Rong would be spending all that time alone with Tao Hua in a dark cave—eating, drinking, sleeping, and doing everything together—they immediately objected.

Lili shot Tao Hua a suspicious look. ”Tao Hua, I doubt you’re going there just to cultivate with him. It sounds more like you’re planning to go settle down with Brother Zhao Rong.”

Yu Lan chimed in disapprovingly, ”A man and a woman, eating, drinking, sleeping, and taking care of all their business in the same place? Are you kidding me? That’s just a setup for making babies!”

Xuelian also sounded worried. ”Brother Zhao Rong, I won’t let you go into that cave alone with Tao Hua. Not unless you take me with you.”

Hearing this, Lili added, ”Tao Hua, take me too!”

Yu Lan quickly followed, ”That’s right! I, Yu Lan, also want to go into secluded cultivation with Brother Zhao Rong!”

Hearing that the small cultivation cave would suddenly have to accommodate five people, Tao Hua explained helplessly, ”The True Qi in the cave is already limited. It will be a miracle if it’s even enough to help Brother Zhao Rong break through to level twenty in forty-nine days. If all of you come along, won’t that just ruin his cultivation plan?”

With that, Tao Hua proceeded to tell them everything about the life-or-death duel Zhao Rong had agreed to with Mage Er Zhen.

After hearing Tao Hua’s story, the three beauties finally understood her good intentions and the necessity of Zhao Rong’s intense training. At the same time, they became even more worried about his duel with Mage Er Zhen.

Lili frowned, her eyes filled with concern as she looked at him. ”Oh, Brother Zhao Rong, you really shouldn’t have signed a life-or-death agreement with that Mage Er Zhen. After all, he’s a Mage, and you’re just an ordinary student.”

Yu Lan added fearfully, ”Brother Zhao Rong, you’re only level nineteen, but Mage Er Zhen is a level-twenty-seven powerhouse! I’m so scared of what might happen when you two fight...”

Clearly, Yu Lan was terrified of losing her beloved Zhao Rong.

Xuelian was just as worried. She said, ”Brother Zhao Rong, since you’ve already signed the agreement, you must go with Tao Hua to the cultivation cave tomorrow. You have to train hard, break through to level twenty before the seclusion ends, and defeat Mage Er Zhen.”

Listening to their worries and encouragement, Zhao Rong nodded reassuringly. ”Don’t worry,” he said, comforting them. ”My cultivation level may be low, but you have to trust me. I have a fool’s luck; things can’t go that badly for me...” As he spoke, he gave them a wide smile, revealing his pearly white teeth.

When the four beauties saw his smile and the nearby dormitory building, they suddenly had no desire to go back to their rooms.

Lili looked at Zhao Rong. ”Brother Zhao Rong, since this is your last night before you go into seclusion, let’s go back to the villa. That way you can get a good night’s rest and be at your best tomorrow.”

Yu Lan thought for a moment and added, ”Brother Zhao Rong, a man has to be fully relaxed to be full of fighting spirit the next day! So tonight, we’ll go back to the villa. You can take a nice bath, use the sauna, and afterward, I’ll give you a back rub. It’ll be so comfortable.”

When Xuelian heard Yu Lan offer a back rub, she immediately jumped in. ”Brother Zhao Rong, if she’s going to rub your back, then I’ll give you a full-body massage!”

Hearing Yu Lan and Xuelian trying to one-up each other, Lili declared, ”Brother Zhao Rong, if they’re going to be giving you back rubs and massages, then I suppose I’ll have to join you in the bathroom and scrub your back...”

Hearing that Lili wanted to come into the bathroom and scrub his back, Zhao Rong’s eyes widened. Whoa. This... this could work...
