Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 115: Chapter 95: Hero Saves the Beauty, Slaying the Giant Magical Beast

As Zhao Rong scattered the pepper powder, it billowed out like smoke and swirled into the magical beast baboon’s eyes.

At that moment, seeing Zhao Rong drop from the sky, the three despairing women immediately shouted with joy.

”I knew it!” Lili screamed. ”I knew Brother Zhao Rong would come to save us! Look, he even came riding a mystical cloud!”

”That’s not a mystical cloud!” Yu Lan said excitedly, sniffing the air. ”That’s the pepper powder Brother Zhao Rong threw into the magical beast’s eyes!”

Xuelian said in disbelief, ”We searched all day and couldn’t find Brother Zhao Rong. But the moment we were in danger, he found us right away.”

Lili wholeheartedly agreed, nodding. ”This is what it means to be a bodyguard! Always there when you call, appearing out of nowhere.”

After Zhao Rong threw the pepper, the magical beast baboon immediately let go of the three women. Covering its eyes with its hands, it howled in pain, ”Who threw pepper in my eyes?! I’ll bite them to death!”

Meanwhile, the other patrons in the bar watched the human youth, Zhao Rong, battle the magical beast baboon. A man named Fengfeng scurried into hiding.

A drunkard, shocked sober by his fear of the beast, exclaimed, ”How can a human possibly defeat such a mighty magical beast? Let’s run! This young man is no match for it.”

”That human kid is short and scrawny,” a woman freeloading in the bar said disparagingly. ”He doesn’t look like he has a high cultivation level. He’s definitely going to be a meal for that beast.”

A man with a deep-seated fear of magical beasts stared at Zhao Rong and said, ”Fighting a magical beast is a death wish. Is this kid a fool?”

Amidst the crowd’s doubts and skepticism, Zhao Rong stood his ground, faced the giant beast, and smiled. ”Perfect. I’ve been dying to level up, but I was all out of Demon Crystals to refine a level-up Elixir. Your arrival is a true godsend.”

The magical beast baboon, having rubbed the pepper from its eyes, lunged at Zhao Rong.

Facing the giant creature, Zhao Rong remained perfectly calm and unafraid. With a nimble sidestep, he evaded the beast’s deadly attack.

Zhao Rong chuckled. ”You want to bite me to death? Not a chance.”

With that, he dashed to the bar, snatched a bottle of strong liquor, tore a strip of cloth from his shirt, and stuffed it into the bottle’s neck.

Seeing Zhao Rong holding the liquor bottle, the magical beast baboon laughed heartily. ”Kid, you’ve never seen a magical beast as huge as me, have you? Are you so scared you’re about to wet yourself? Are you trying to drink for courage?”

”We’ll see who’s really scared,” Zhao Rong sneered.

As he spoke, he lit the cloth wick and hurled the bottle at the magical beast baboon. He had fashioned a makeshift Molotov cocktail with incredible speed.

The inexperienced beast had never seen such a tactic. The flaming bottle struck it, and its entire body was immediately engulfed in flames. The magical beast baboon rolled on the ground, howling in agony. ”Any other human, even the worst cultivator, would fight me with Cultivation Techniques or Martial Techniques! But you... you’re not using any techniques, any martial skills, you don’t even have any proper moves! You’re burning me with a liquor bottle? You don’t play by the rules at all, do you?!”

Zhao Rong thought to himself, He’s right. I’m a level-nineteen cultivator, so why am I not using any Martial Techniques or Cultivation Techniques? Then again... apart from a few minor tricks, it’s not like I actually know any.

At that moment, the magical beast baboon seemed to sense Zhao Rong’s weakness. It taunted him, ”Kid, you must be a really low-level cultivator. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have to resort to a Molotov cocktail, would you? You think you can burn me to death with a little liquor? Impossible.”

As it spoke, the magical beast baboon gradually beat out the flames on its body and struggled back to its feet.

Seeing the beast rise, Zhao Rong acted in a flash, decisively pulling the Dharma Sword from the Storm. The power of the Dharma Sword was comparable to a Dragon-Slaying Saber. It could slay the Divine Clan above and kill the Dragon Clan below—its might was boundless.

Wielding the Dharma Sword, Zhao Rong leaped high into the air and plunged the blade straight down through the top of the magical beast baboon’s head. Impaled, the beast began to struggle frantically, throwing Zhao Rong to the ground.

As Zhao Rong got back to his feet, the once arrogant and domineering behemoth suddenly collapsed with a thunderous crash. The magical beast baboon looked at Zhao Rong and rasped, ”You have no Cultivation Technique, no Martial Technique... How could you kill me?”

Zhao Rong just smiled and spread his hands. ”Who said you can’t be killed without them?”

Just as he finished speaking, the magical beast baboon suddenly felt its brain rupture and its heart stop. In an instant, it ceased to breathe. Zhao Rong’s strike had pierced directly into the beast’s central nervous system, granting it a painful but swift death.

When the onlookers saw such a seemingly weak human youth defeat a massive magical beast, they were all struck completely dumbfounded.

The bar owner, hands trembling, gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Heroic young man! I’ve heard stories of humans defeating magical beasts, but your performance today was a live show! It was a real eye-opener. Kid, you’re freaking awesome!”

The bartender crawled out from under a table. Staring at the huge beast Zhao Rong had slain, he said in disbelief, ”This is just unbelievable. It’s like an ant defeating an elephant! A classic case of the small overpowering the large, the weak conquering the strong.”

Zhao Rong dusted himself off and pulled the Dharma Sword from the beast’s head. After wiping the blade clean, he began to dissect the creature, searching for its Demon Crystal.

Although the magical beast baboon was enormous, its Demon Crystal was surprisingly easy to find. In no time at all, Zhao Rong found it: a priceless, level-twenty Demon Crystal.

Cradling the black crystal in his hands, Zhao Rong said happily, ”I was about to head to a cultivation cave to level up the hard way. Now that I have this Demon Crystal, I can refine a level-up Elixir.”

Just as Zhao Rong was basking in the glory of not only saving the three young women but also acquiring a Demon Crystal, Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian rushed toward him from the north side of the bar, eager to embrace him.

Meanwhile, the Red Romance Innkeeper, who had been hiding behind a crate, saw Zhao Rong kill the giant beast and also rushed excitedly toward him from the south side of the bar.

As the four women converged on him from opposite directions, Zhao Rong suddenly spotted something inside the beast’s body that looked like a ring. He immediately moved to retrieve it.

Because Zhao Rong moved so quickly, the four women running toward his spot couldn’t slow down in time and crashed directly into one another. In an instant, they were sent sprawling into a tangled, chaotic heap.

When Zhao Rong pulled the ring from the beast’s body, he immediately slipped it onto his finger. The ring was a comfortable and perfect fit. Just as he was admiring it, the four women behind him started to argue.

Lili, Yu Lan, and Xuelian stood together, pointing at the Red Romance Innkeeper. ”The three of us were going to hug Zhao Rong! Why did you get in our way and crash into us?”

The Red Romance Innkeeper, looking equally bewildered, shot back, ”I was coming to hug Zhao Rong, too! Why did you block my path and crash into me?”

Hearing this, Lili stared at the innkeeper in surprise. ”Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to hug my Brother Zhao Rong?”

The Red Romance Innkeeper looked back at Lili with equal disdain. ”And who might you be? What gives you the right to hug my little brother Zhao Rong?”

At that, the gazes of all four women shifted to Zhao Rong, who was now wearing the ring. They spoke in perfect, unplanned unison.

”Zhao Rong, you’d better explain yourself! Who is this woman to you?”
