The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1500: Chapter 1500: Interested in Ruan Dali

The old lady happened to know these two men, mainly because one was from the Ruan Family Village, and the other from Shangshi Village, so she couldn’t help but pay a bit more attention to them.

But she didn’t know about their character, so she turned to ask Shu Yu, “What do you think?”

Shu Yu, while reaching out and being tugged at by Little Zaozao, nodded, “Both are quite good. Ruan Dali is now the steward at the oil workshop, and Dazhuang also runs around the prefecture city. He’s in sales—every sale he makes, he gets a bonus, and his wages are high.”

Zhou Qiao nodded. In fact, there are quite a few unmarried staff members in the workshop.

But as an elder sister, she naturally had her own private thoughts. The staff members definitely didn’t have as promising careers as the stewards did. Among the stewards, only Ruan Dali and Dazhuang were still unmarried.

“Actually, the one I prefer is Ruan Dali.”

“Why?” the old lady asked.

“Dazhuang is a good person, he’s just a bit older.”

The old lady couldn’t quite remember Dazhuang’s age, but Shu Yu did. Daqiang is already nineteen this year, and Dazhuang is his older brother, two years older, turning twenty-one this year.

Here, twenty-one… is quite old, especially since Zhou Qiao’s second younger sister is only fifteen.

Zhou Qiao said, “Even if my second sister agrees to a marriage proposal now, it would still be a couple of years before she actually gets married. She’s attached to her family and insists on waiting until our third sister is a bit older before she gets married. By then, Dazhuang will be twenty-three. Even if Dazhuang is willing to wait, his family likely won’t.”

Besides, ever since Dazhuang started working at Lu’s Workshop, quite a few people have approached his family with marriage proposals for him.

The old lady nodded, “That’s true. Then it should be Ruan Dali. Go back and ask your second sister and your father’s opinion. If they think it’s okay, then ask Ruan Dali. If both parties agree, we can arrange a meeting.”

Zhou Qiao smiled, “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”

For matters like this, seeking advice from the elders gives Zhou Qiao peace of mind. She herself had been married for less than two years and didn’t understand much.

“Ah ah ah…” Little Zaozao saw everyone talking among themselves and began to feel dissatisfied, turning her head and jumping into Zhou Qiao’s arms.

Shu Yu let go of her hand, and upon hearing Zhou Qiao mention Ruan Dali and Dazhuang, she also recalled Mrs. Xiang’s request.

Mrs. Xiang wanted her to see if there were any suitable staff members in the workshop.

But Shu Yu… didn’t have much knowledge.

She could only ask Zhou Qiao, who was briefly stunned and then frowned, saying, “Xiangdi wants to find a man to marry into her family, but that’s not easy. Nowadays, those who marry into a family are usually people without prospects. The staff members in the workshop are all capable earners; why would they be willing to marry into a family?”

Shu Yu sighed, “Mrs. Xiang also said that, but Xiangdi can’t let go of Mrs. Xiang.”

Zhou Qiao thought for a moment, “Actually, there’s another option: have Mrs. Xiang find a companion. That way, Xiangdi can feel at ease.”

The old lady thought it was workable, “Mrs. Xiang isn’t that old; she should be thirty-six or seven, right?”

Shu Yu, “…”

Are you serious?

“Mrs. Xiang is indeed quite young. But she worked hard to raise Xiangdi, and now she has money and leisure. Once Xiangdi gets married, she can enjoy life with grandchildren later—a carefree life. Why would she want to find another man to marry? Not only would she need to spend her wages, but she’d also have to wash clothes, cook, and take care of kids. If something were to happen with stepchildren, she’d bear the burden, which wouldn’t ease Xiangdi’s worries but would make her life even harder.”
