The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1472: Chapter 1472: Shu Yu’s Questions

This matter, Old Master Tan really hasn’t had the chance to investigate, as Jiang Kuanyu sold a lot of manors, shops, and houses before leaving the prefecture.

Shu Yu rubbed her temples, “Yes, I originally thought this was just a matter of exchange between silver and goods. It was my first time meeting Young Master Jiang, and since the transaction was completed so long ago, there shouldn’t be any problems. But if Young Master Jiang really poisoned Young Master Tan, then he isn’t as amiable as he appears on the surface, and his thoughts are quite deep, which makes me uneasy.”

Old Master Tan chuckled upon hearing this, “You don’t need to worry about Monarch Lu Xiang. Before he left, he sold off all his properties. There were many buyers, so it wasn’t aimed personally at you. His poisoning of my younger son is a personal vendetta.”

Shu Yu’s eyes flickered upon hearing this, indicating that the Tan family, like her, although there are three suspects, they had already determined that the real culprit was Jiang Kuanyu.

Shu Yu sighed, “There were indeed many buyers for the properties Young Master Jiang sold, but when he sold the farmland to me, he offered a generous discount. Tell me, isn’t that behavior strange?”

The Tan father and son were surprised to hear this, “Offered a discount? Why?”

“Young Master Jiang said I am kind-hearted and would treat the tenants well, and he wanted to form a good relationship. So, after we finished bargaining, he lowered the price by two hundred taels. At that time, I was quite pleased, thinking Young Master Jiang had a good character. But he is someone who could poison a good friend, which surely isn’t associated with kindness. So why would he suddenly lower the price because of such a reason? The more I think about it, the stranger it seems. I am worried that there might be something wrong with the manor and the land. So, I rushed over today to ask if you know more about the situation.”

The Tan father and son paid more attention to her words.

Tan Cheng pursed his lips and sat up straighter, “Monarch Lu Xiang, ask away. I will definitely speak without holding back.”

“I heard Young Master Jiang went back to his hometown. Where exactly is that?”

“Northern,” replied Old Master Tan, “Jiang Kuanyu’s father came to Dongan Province twenty-eight years ago, and Jiang Kuanyu hadn’t been born yet. When they first arrived, they spoke with a northern accent and initially struggled to adapt to the climate here. But I’ve forgotten which exact county town in the north it was. It’s been too long. He mentioned a county name at the time, and probably left due to some dissatisfaction with his hometown, which is why he moved to such a distant place. He doesn’t like to talk about his native place.

Northern? But Huajiang Prefecture is in Jiangnan.

Indeed, Jiang Kuanyu’s appearance at the Meng family is directed at Meng Yunzheng.

Shu Yu pondered for a moment and nodded, “Are there other family members of Jiang Kuanyu? He should be married, right?”

This time it was Tan Cheng who spoke, “After his father’s death, he only has his mother at home. He is twenty-six years old and got married eight years ago, with two children. Also, his wife isn’t local. He brought her back from doing business outwards.”

His wife isn’t local either? So once Jiang Kuanyu’s family left, there wouldn’t be any relatives here?

Tsk.

“One last question.” Shu Yu took a sip of water, “When the Jiang family left, with the entire family and so much luggage, traveling this far, they should have hired an escort agency, right?”

“Yes.” Old Master Tan nodded.

Shu Yu squinted slightly and slowly asked, “Have the escorts from the escort agency returned?”
