The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1462: Chapter 1462: Jiang Kuanyu Is Not in the Prefecture

The little girl became more and more agitated as she spoke, ”No way, I have to tell Little Ya’er to stay away from Jiang Kuanyu from now on, she can’t treat him like a great benefactor anymore. I...”

She paused midway, then shook her head and sighed, ”Forget it, Jiang Kuanyu has already left Dongan Province, Little Ya’er might not see him again.”

Shu Yu was just about to tell Ah Ning to take a break when she was caught off guard by her words, ”Ah Ning, what did you just say? Jiang Kuanyu left Dongan Province?”

Ah Ning nodded, ”Yes, Young Master Tan said he left, otherwise Old Master Tan would have confronted him.”

Shu Yu and Meng Yunzheng exchanged glances, their expressions turning slightly serious, ”Do you know when he left and where he went?”

”Young Master Tan said he left last July. At that time, Lord Jiang had passed away unexpectedly, and Jiang Kuanyu was down for quite a while. Later, he packed up and sold several shops in Dongan Province. Before leaving, Jiang Kuanyu visited Young Master Tan and declared he wanted to return to his hometown to run a business, saying it was Lord Jiang’s last wish to return to his roots and give back to the community.”

Though Lord Jiang had a thriving business in Dongan Province, his ancestral home was not actually there. It was just a coincidence that led him to settle in the prefecture.

When Lord Jiang passed away, he suddenly longed for the place and relatives of his childhood, wanting to return, which is natural. And for Jiang Kuanyu to fulfill this wish, decisively letting go of the business here and taking his family to start anew back home seems justified.

Even though some said he was foolish behind his back, others praised him as a greatly filial son and admired his determination.

As for the Tan Family, they found it somewhat incomprehensible.

At that time, Young Master Tan had already been poisoned for a year, and his health was poor. Old Master Tan and Mrs. Tan were overwhelmed themselves. After attending Lord Jiang’s funeral, they focused all their efforts on finding a doctor for Young Master Tan. Hence, when Jiang Kuanyu sold the shops and workshops, they didn’t notice for a while.

By the time they realized, it was too late to persuade him.

In the end, they simply bid farewell, telling them to take care, and parted ways.

Shu Yu frowned, ”So Jiang Kuanyu consolidated all his assets and left last July? Ah Ning, did Young Master Tan mention where Jiang Kuanyu’s hometown is?”

”He didn’t say.”

”Did Young Master Tan say anything else?”

Ah Ning replied, ”That’s all he said.”

Shu Yu asked a few more questions, but Ah Ning had already said everything she knew, and genuinely didn’t know anything else.

Shu Yu then gave up, noticing the little girl blinked once, with tears welling up at the corners of her eyes, suddenly realizing she had just rushed back from the prefecture and must be very tired.

She promptly patted Ah Ning’s head, ”Second sister understands, thank you for coming over to tell Second Sister this important news, you’ve been a great help. You’re tired from just coming back, go rest in your room first, we can talk later.”

”Okay.”

Happy to have helped her older sister, Ah Ning cheerfully waved at Shu Yu, ”I’ll be going now.”

Shu Yu watched her hop and skip away, quickly calling out, ”Walk slowly.”

But the little girl had already disappeared.

Shu Yu shook her head, retracted her gaze, only to see Meng Yunzheng pointing at the bundle on the table.
