The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1461: Chapter 1461: Ah Ning Doesn’t Understand

Shu Yu thought for a moment and asked Ah Ning, “When Young Master Tan came down from the mountain, didn’t he ask Jiang Kuanyu what was up there, and why there was someone guarding it?”

“Yes, he did. Jiang Kuanyu told Young Master Tan that up there was the black market, and Young Master Tan understood.” Ah Ning looked puzzled, “But I don’t quite understand, Second Sister, what is the black market? What does it do? Is it really dark and problematic?”

Shu Yu, “…”

Alright, the little girl is still too young. Even if she heard it, she probably wouldn’t understand what it means.

She pondered for a bit, trying to use milder words, “The black market is where transactions happen in secret. Some stolen goods are bought and sold on the black market. Strictly speaking, it’s illegal.”

Ah Ning’s eyes widened suddenly, “Illegal? No wonder Jiang Kuanyu was so nervous, not letting Young Master Tan go up there.”

She looked as if she suddenly realized something and then became anxious, “Oh no, Second Sister, the black market is so close to the manor and the sunflowers. What if something happens, or if criminals from the black market come to cause trouble?”

Shu Yu almost choked, the black market already has criminals inside??

She quickly said to the worried little girl, “Don’t worry, that black market was closed and sold last year. Now there’s no one up there, let alone any criminals.”

Ah Ning was surprised, “Closed?”

“Yes, probably couldn’t keep it running anymore.” Shu Yu said vaguely, and then with a serious expression said to Ah Ning, “Although the black market here has closed, there are still others elsewhere. If you hear of or see one, you must keep your distance immediately, understand?”

Ah Ning nodded emphatically, “Of course, what if there are murderers inside?”

Shu Yu, “…”

Ah Ning didn’t notice her unspeakable expression and, having learned what the black market was, shifted her focus back to the scroll on the table.

With her hands propping up her little chin, she thought seriously for a moment, then straightened her little body and said confidently, “Second Sister, that means the murderer must be Jiang Kuanyu, right? The black market is illegal, Jiang Kuanyu knows the address so well, maybe he’s one of them.”

She nodded vigorously, looking expectantly at Shu Yu.

Shu Yu’s mouth twitched, knowing a lot of people knew the black market’s address. Generally, those with connections, background, and money in Dongan Province or the county town tacitly understood this.

Jiang Kuanyu’s family was big and wealthy in the prefecture, and the manor was just four kilometers from the black market; it would be odd if he didn’t know.

It’s probably just Young Master Tan, who is focused solely on studying, not knowing much about these matters, almost stumbling up the mountain by accident.

But Old Master Tan probably knew, so when Young Master Tan asked Jiang Kuanyu what was there, Jiang Kuanyu didn’t hide it from him.

However, Ah Ning’s suspicion wasn’t wrong; among the three paintings before them, Jiang Kuanyu was the most suspicious.

Shu Yu looked down, faced with Ah Ning’s expectant gaze, and smiled, “Hmm, what you said makes sense.”

Ah Ning, having received affirmation, became even more enthusiastic, “I figured it out myself. My brain is really working fast now.”

And then she became indignant, “How can this Jiang Kuanyu be so bad? Isn’t he good friends with Young Master Tan? Yet he poisoned him. I used to think he was a good person for helping Little Ya’er’s grandfather with the funeral.”
