The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1452: Chapter 1452: To the Utmost Limits of Benevolence and Righteousness

Ding Yuehua, ”The last time I saw her was at the banquet Madam Xiang hosted in the peach forest. At that time, she wanted to cling to Madam Xiang, but who knew Madam Xiang would soon return to the Capital? This year even Lord Xiang was promoted and left Jiangyuan County. Kong Zhiyou didn’t gain anything at all.”

Initially, Ding Yuehua felt a bit schadenfreude, but that was the only feeling.

She hasn’t seen her since, but due to overlapping social circles, she still heard news about Kong Zhiyou from others.

It’s said that she spent a lot of money trying to ingratiate herself with Madam Xiang, but it all went down the drain.

This made her husband, Scholar Chen, very dissatisfied, even though Kong Zhiyou was spending her own dowry money.

After several disappointments, the Chen family father and son naturally didn’t hold her in high regard.

At this time, news of Kong Zhiyou’s pregnancy arrived, which was last year’s matter.

”With her pregnancy, the Chen family was pleased. Even her maid was happy. You and I both know Qiuju intends to seduce Scholar Chen, how would she pass up such an opportunity? I, at the time, couldn’t help but worry; she was pregnant, and if Qiuju wanted to harm her, she would be defenseless and something bad would surely happen. The child is always innocent.”

After all these years of friendship, Ding Yuehua discreetly reminded her that Qiuju might be a problem.

But Kong Zhiyou wouldn’t listen, thinking Ding Yuehua was deliberately stirring trouble, becoming increasingly resentful instead.

Then soon after, Scholar Chen and Qiuju got together.

Such things happened right under her nose; could Kong Zhiyou not know?

But Scholar Chen protected her, saying with her pregnancy, she couldn’t serve her husband, and thus allowing the maid was only right.

Kong Zhiyou swallowed her anger, merely wanting to deliver the child quickly before dealing with Qiuju, focusing on protecting the child first.

Yet after enduring the most dangerous first three months, she was caught off guard by the sixth month.

”It was just last month; the six-month-old child was lost, which greatly harmed the mother. It’s said that at the time, she was in great peril, nearly losing her life too.”

Ding Yuehua has been preserving her pregnancy for the past two months and hasn’t left home. By the time she learned of this news, everything was already settled.

This matter was undoubtedly caused by Qiuju, but Kong Zhiyou had no evidence.

Moreover, she was still recuperating, lacking the energy to investigate.

The Kong family did dispatch people, intending to kill Qiuju. What does no evidence matter? She was merely a concubine granted by the master.

But Scholar Chen protected her, and Kong Zhiyou intervened; the Kong family had no choice but to spare Qiuju.

Ding Yuehua couldn’t understand, ”I just can’t fathom why she would stop them, considering Qiuju harmed her so badly. She’s still helping Scholar Chen protect her?”

”Maybe she’s planning to take revenge personally after recovering.”

”Perhaps.”

”Alright, don’t think too much about it. You’ve done all you could. You reminded her, but Kong Zhiyou was prejudiced and stubborn, refusing to listen. What else could you do?”

Ding Yuehua just nodded, and seeing her mood droop when Kong Zhiyou was mentioned, Shu Yu quickly changed the topic.

They spent most of the day talking, and by the time they left the Fan family, noon had already passed.

Shu Yu went straight home, unexpectedly encountering a surprising figure at her doorstep.
