The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Chapter 1477: Chapter 1477: Stabbed Two People to Death

Madam Ruan obviously has inquired thoroughly about County Magistrate Zhang’s affairs, as she would naturally be very concerned about any issue involving the siblings who initially came with the intention to trouble her daughter.

”After that girl married Zhang Maolin, she caused chaos in the Zhang family and had several arguments with County Magistrate Zhang. Zhang Maolin was completely controlled by his new wife and always sided with her. Normally, that would be the end of it, but no one knew that the new wife was already pregnant before the marriage. However, the girl continued to associate with her former lover even after getting married.”

Shu Yu was momentarily at a loss for words; isn’t this what they call evil met by evil?

Madam Ruan said, ”Just associating wasn’t enough, the girl probably thought Zhang Maolin was naive, so she became increasingly blatant. The result was what you might expect, Zhang Maolin caught them in bed red-handed. We’ve seen Zhang Maolin’s impulsive nature before. Unable to hold back, he went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, stabbing them both to death.”

Shu Yu was shocked, ”Stabbed them to death?”

Madam Ruan nodded; in fact, she was somewhat scared too. When County Magistrate Zhang and her brother came to cause trouble initially, had it not been for Ying Dong’s martial arts skills, which kept them outside, the brother might have recklessly stabbed someone as well given his sister’s status.

”This incident caused a huge stir; if he had just stabbed the girl, people might say she deserved it, with County Magistrate Zhang’s status, Zhang Maolin might have escaped punishment. But he also killed the lover, whose in-laws were influential people in Dongan Province and wouldn’t let it rest.”

It was precisely because the lover’s wife’s family was powerful that he found a lover outside, but he wasn’t brave enough to bring the pregnant lover home.

Even though the lover wronged his wife, it wasn’t something that could simply be brushed aside with his death.

Zhang Maolin, having taken two lives, was immediately imprisoned.

County Magistrate Zhang was just a titular title, she had no real power, nor did she have connections.

Unable to rescue Zhang Maolin, she herself was held accountable by the victim’s families.

At home, the elderly parents cried and lamented, demanding she find a way to save her brother; outside, the girl’s and the lover’s families demanded compensation from her.

County Magistrate Zhang was inherently incapable; previous acquaintances were superficial, and upon seeing her in trouble, they distanced themselves as much as possible, leaving her no opportunity to ask for help.

In the end, Zhang Maolin’s guilt was irrefutable; he killed two people and was sentenced directly to death.

The Zhang family had to compensate the two victims financially, but they couldn’t come up with the money, so the victims turned to County Magistrate Zhang.

Originally, County Magistrate Zhang held a high position in her husband’s family, always had the final say, and her husband dared not defy her. But due to this incident, she was almost repudiated by her husband’s family.

But after all, she was a county magistrate, and the other side didn’t have the authority.

However, her future life at home was predictable.

Just look at what was seen today, the clothes are no longer as glorious as before, her complexion is haggard, and she only has one maid by her side.

Madam Ruan felt that County Magistrate Zhang deserved this fate.

”I heard from the Zhang family’s former neighbors that Zhang Maolin was obedient and had a good temperament when he was young. Ever since his sister became a county magistrate, the whole Zhang family became arrogant; after Zhang Maolin caused trouble, his sister would clean up after him, and he started to become lawless. He stopped studying and working, constantly looking for trouble, and now look what happened—he’s reaping what he sowed.”
