The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1473: Chapter 1473: One Person Dead

Old Master Tan sighed, “They naturally returned.”

Returned?

Shu Yu was surprised, “When did they return? They said they escorted the Jiang family to the North?”

Old Master Tan nodded, “Actually, I asked about this at the beginning of the year, and they said they were sent there.”

Shu Yu was stunned, sent there? How is that possible, Jiang Kuanyu obviously appeared in Changjin Prefecture.

Old Master Tan said, “When the Jiang family left, we were all worried about Ah Cheng’s illness and really didn’t have the energy to manage other things. It was only when Jiang Kuanyu came to our house to visit Ah Cheng that I asked him for an address, so we could communicate with each other. But Jiang Kuanyu said he hadn’t been to his hometown and had conflicts with the people there, so whether he would still live there in the future was uncertain. He said he would contact us once he settled down.”

With that, Old Master Tan let it go.

After all, the person he had a relationship with was Lord Jiang, and the one with a good relationship with Jiang Kuanyu was his own son, Tan Cheng, but Tan Cheng’s health…

Whether the relationship between the families could be maintained after the Jiang family left was unknown.

In any case, after Jiang Kuanyu left, Old Master Tan stopped paying attention.

It wasn’t until this year’s New Year, when relatives and friends came to visit, that he thought of Lord Jiang and suddenly remembered that Jiang Kuanyu hadn’t sent a letter since returning home.

There was no news from the Jiang family, so Old Master Tan went to the escort agency to ask about their return.

Only then did he learn that the escort agency the Jiang family used was not the largest one in the prefecture, but a relatively unknown minor escort agency.

The head escort of the minor agency said they were delivered safely and had all arrived in the North.

Old Master Tan was relieved and didn’t ask further questions.

Until a few days ago, when among Tan Cheng’s list of suspects was Jiang Kuanyu, did Old Master Tan focus on him again.

Shu Yu thought of the escort agency, and naturally, so did Old Master Tan.

So yesterday, he went to the escort agency again, this time asking more carefully, but the other party was impatient, saying that after so long, how could they remember those details?

Old Master Tan found it strange and asked for the exact address, but the escorts were unwilling to say, stating that the Jiang family instructed them not to disclose it.

“I noticed they were evasive in their speech, which made me feel something was wrong. So after returning, I had the butler keep watch over there to see if we could find someone who escorted them to inquire about it.”

Before Old Master Tan finished speaking, his attendant came in from outside, “Sir, Housekeeper Tang is back.”

As the proverb goes, ‘Speak of Cao Cao and Cao Cao arrives’.

Old Master Tan raised his head suddenly, indeed seeing the butler panting heavily as he ran over, his face covered with sweat.

As soon as he entered, he seemed eager to speak, but upon turning and seeing Shu Yu, he suddenly closed his mouth, leaving only heavy breathing.

Old Master Tan had him sit down, a servant brought over a cup of tea, and after Housekeeper Tang drank it, he said, “Did you hear any news about the Jiang family from the escort agency? You may speak, let Monarch Lu Xiang listen too.”

With Old Master Tan’s words, Housekeeper Tang was relieved.

He slowly caught his breath, his eyes slightly widened as if about to reveal shocking news, “Sir, it turns out that not all the ten escorts who originally escorted the Jiang family back have returned. It’s said they encountered bandits on the way, and one escort died.”

Old Master Tan suddenly frowned, “Died?”

Housekeeper Tang nodded repeatedly.

Old Master Tan was puzzled, “How has such news not spread at all?”
