The Ace Bigshot Becomes A Farmgirl

Capítulo 1497: Chapter 1497: Boss Yuan Is Suspicious

Shu Yu asked in confusion, “What is it?”

Daniu was still looking at the sunflower field outside, and said, “A few days ago, Boss Yuan and his wife were poking around here, and when Old Yang noticed, he scolded them, and they ran away.”

Boss Yuan is the elder brother of Fourth Uncle, Yuan Shanchuan.

Once Daniu mentioned it, Shu Yu immediately understood what he meant.

“Are you saying that Boss Yuan might have already discovered that our melon seeds are the ones he dug up from Uncle’s land earlier?”

The sunflower seeds were initially bought by Shu Yu and Daniu from Boss Yuan.

Shu Yu was also prepared for this because once things grow, they can’t be concealed. Boss Yuan would eventually realize that the sunflowers were identical to the packet of seeds he originally had.

Daniu nodded, “But it seems he’s not very sure. It’s been so long that they probably don’t remember the shape of that packet of seeds. Still, they came over, so they must be suspicious.”

Shu Yu smiled, “Let them be suspicious, we’ve neither stolen nor robbed, we bought it fair and square. Even though I disguised myself as a middle-aged man when I purchased it, even if I went as myself, it was a deal settled in silver, and it has nothing to do with them anymore.”

Without her, Boss Yuan couldn’t have sold that packet of seeds at all.

It’s not like he didn’t try the grocery shops or pharmacies, but they either didn’t recognize it or just offered a few coins to brush him off. Boss Yuan hit a wall everywhere and was considering throwing the seeds away.

If he wants to cause trouble now, he better have a good reason to stand on.

Shu Yu said, “Tell Old Yang to stay alert and not let anyone sabotage the workshop. As for what Boss Yuan really wants, we’ll wait and see.”

Daniu nodded, “Alright, got it.”

As they spoke, the carriage quickly arrived at the manor.

The two went to check on the old lady, only to find her resting on the bed with Little Zaozao sleeping beside her. They lay together, big and small, looking particularly harmonious.

After taking a glance, Shu Yu stepped out and asked Zhou Qiao, “Is Grandmother doing alright?”

Zhou Qiao smiled and said, “She seems in good spirits. After you left, we wandered around the fields. Grandmother saw a few tenants busy in the fields, so she put on a straw hat and went down, chatting with them and looking at the sunflower stalks, and even caught a couple of bugs.”

When she spoke of it, it seemed quite amusing.

“I noticed Grandmother seemed very interested. I think we can bring her here from time to time in the future.”

Shu Yu and Daniu exchanged a look. Although they hadn’t seen the old lady’s expression at the time, it was clear Shu Yu’s guess was correct. The old lady, having been away from the fields for a long time, had started to miss it.

She nodded, “That’s a good idea. Anyway, there are many rooms at the manor. We can occasionally let her come here to see our vast lands. Over a hundred acres, for Grandmother, that’s quite grand and something to be proud of.”

“During the sunflower harvest, we can also bring her along,” Daniu suggested.

Everyone clearly realized that they couldn’t let the old lady stay home all the time anymore.

Zhou Qiao said, “Later, when I saw it getting hot outside, I persuaded her to come back and rest. As a result, she lulled Little Zaozao to sleep and dozed off beside her.”

“She really likes Little Zaozao.”

Zhou Qiao nodded, glanced at the room, and her expression turned a bit hesitant.

Shu Yu wondered, “What’s troubling you, Sister-in-law?”
