My Alleged Husband

Chapter 747: Chapter 717 Let’s go traveling!_1

Time is truly magical, isn’t it? You can never tell on which day you might fall in love with another person, no one can give an absolute guarantee. Perhaps in a certain moment, you find that someone suits your heart, and you fall for her at first sight, becoming lovestruck and deeply ensnared.

Zhang Zhentian knew if one day his wife truly fell in love with him, how thrilled and excited he’d be. She could probably go days and nights without sleep; he might declare to the whole world that he had finally made it, that with his own efforts, step by step, he had reached deep into his wife’s heart, making her remember him for a lifetime.

Xia Jing was well aware of how much her husband loved her, how he had repeatedly risked life and limb just to keep her by his side. He had given up so much for her; yet why did she keep hurting him time and again? Why couldn’t she bring herself to love him as deeply as she had loved her first boyfriend?

Old Master Zhang silently observed the lives of his family members, often feeling a pang of sorrow. Why did his family have to endure such trials over and over again? Why was happiness such a struggle to maintain in his household? Could it be that he had interfered too much?

Maybe that wasn’t the case, as everyone desires a different kind of life. All anyone wants is to live the life they wish for, peacefully and steadily, but no one knows what that life would actually look like.

Xia Zheng knew that the only person he had wronged in his life was his husband. Despite his husband’s devoted care, he held no place deep within his heart. Sometimes, even he had grown numb. He didn’t know what kind of affection he truly wanted deep down; he waited for the right moment to come when he would reveal everything, letting everyone know his most genuine thoughts. He didn’t want to keep deceiving others with different facades; it was too exhausting for him.

In contrast to their lives, Ran Zhihan still envied the life her parents had. She envied her mother because her father caters to her in every possible way, but her own husband did not treat her the same.

Even a slight mistake on her part seemed unforgivable in her husband’s eyes, and he would never let go of his grievances no matter what happened. She was weary. Why did she keep making mistakes? Why did she keep hurting the people who loved her over and over again, because of her actions?

All she wanted was a simple life. Why was it always so elusive?

If only her husband could be just a bit more accommodating, how happy, joyful, and fortunate would she feel? She longed for that day to come, but it never seemed to arrive.

On that day, Zhang Zhentian hugged his wife and fell asleep peacefully, an experience he hadn’t had in a very long time.

In their eyes, happiness was quite simple—just being able to snuggle safely into each other’s arms every night was an extraordinary feeling of bliss.

The next morning, as the sun rose slowly and hung in the sky so brilliantly, no one knew how they had spent the previous night.

But for Zhang Zhentian, it had been a supremely happy evening.

Upon opening her eyes, Xia Jing saw her husband looking at her and couldn’t help but blush. She felt her life was complete, even though every day was different, and even though she wrestled with her husband constantly. Still, she was able to receive her husband’s concerned love at all times, which made her feel genuinely happy and joyful.

”Xia Jing, it’s been so long, I’ve almost lost track of how long it’s been since I’ve seen you this shy. Do you know? Seeing you like this today makes me so happy. It feels like I’ve traveled back to those early days when we first got together, how much I long for time to freeze in that moment, that moment when I held you in my arms as I searched everywhere for you, longing for a peaceful life.

All I want is to take you into my arms every day and sleep securely, waking up refreshed with the dawn.

To open my eyes in the morning and see my loved one beside me—what a blissful feeling that is. Have you ever experienced it?

Actually, you have experienced it, you just haven’t consciously felt it. I don’t know what kind of life you want, but I desperately hope to be by your side one day, waiting. But do you know? Every day, I torment myself, wanting to know if there’s a place for me deep in your heart!”

...

”Let’s not talk about this anymore. We’ve been together for so many years, and you’ve been wandering the world with us, never really experiencing life. In the time we have left, I want to take you away to experience the ends of the earth, to travel the world. Maybe that’s what a truly beautiful life is. I want to show you the most wonderful things in every corner of the world, to take you across mountains and rivers, to see the boundless beauty of nature!

I don’t know if you’re willing to go with me, and I don’t know if you’d want to join me in creating the remaining wonderful time we have. If you’re willing, then let’s travel together. If you’re not, I can’t force you, but one day when you look back, you’ll find that I’ve been here, waiting for you. Thank you for accompanying me to sleep last night; holding you in my arms was the happiest and most joyful moment of my life.”

Before Xia Jing could respond, Zhang Zhentian had already turned and left the place. He knew if he stayed any longer and his wife rejected him, how would he bear it?
