My Alleged Husband

Chapter 735: Chapter 705: Can I do it myself?_1

Day by day, time passed, and Xia Jing spent each day reflecting on her actions, wondering if she had been wrong.

She didn’t know what to do to make things different.

During this period, Xia Jing would hide away whenever she had nothing to do, avoiding Zhang Zhentian.

Zhang Zhentian went looking for Xia Jing every day, but each time he returned without success. He truly couldn’t understand why his wife had been avoiding him lately.

Time after time, he went to his wife’s residence in search of her, but every time he came back with nothing, which made him very unhappy.

Every day when he went to find Xia Jing, she was not at home, testing his patience over and over again.

He felt that he had reached the last straw.

”Yichen, do you know where your mom has been these past days? Why can’t I find her no matter how many places I look?”

Now that Zhang Zhentian realized he couldn’t find Xia Jing, he simply asked his son to look for her.

In Zhang Zhentian’s eyes, his son was like someone with exceptional abilities.

Whatever he wanted, his son could find. He didn’t want anything else right now; he just wanted to bring his wife back to his side. Everything from the past didn’t matter anymore. As long as his beloved could stay by his side, why should he care about all the rights and wrongs? If that was indeed the case, how could he ever find happiness in this life?

”Dad, you know as well as I do, if even you can’t find mom in this world, how could I, her son, possibly find her? Even if I have many connections, if she deliberately hides from us, not wanting to see us, she won’t appear even if we search to the ends of the earth.

Issues between husband and wife must be resolved slowly, together. Outsiders can’t resolve them. Even if I find her for you this time, it won’t solve the fundamental problem. Do you think you two will be happy together then?

Perhaps what mom wants in her heart right now is just a quiet place to think about what to do. If we disturb her now, might we not achieve the opposite effect? Maybe she will come out once she has thought things through, but if we forcibly find her, will she truly be happy?

I believe that since you love my mom so much, you should know what kind of person she is, what her temperament is like, what her mindset is, and how she approaches things.

If you choose this path, might you end up pushing her further away? Every decision will affect your future path. Have you really not thought about this?

I know I shouldn’t meddle in these matters, but seeing you like this, it pains me too. I want to help you both with all my might, but as a son, there’s nothing I can do to help you. It’s all her own choice. If she has chosen to do this, what can I really do? You need to resolve your issues between you. Even if I help you solve a temporary problem, the same issues will arise later on.”

Zhang Yichen tried to persuade his father, knowing that even if his father could overlook everything else in the world, he would care deeply about his mom!

And sure enough, when Zhang Zhentian heard his son say this, he felt that he should give Xia Jing some time.

”Maybe you’re right. I’ll try giving your mom some time, but I hope that the decision she comes to after thinking won’t disappoint me.

I don’t care how many things she has done wrong, nor do I care who she’s thinking about. All I want is for her to be by my side and stay in this family. Some things have passed, and no matter how much one dwells on the past, it’s not coming back. So why should I be so suspicious this time?

I’m giving her time to think about whether she wants to come back to me. If she does come back, no matter what, I absolutely won’t let her leave me again. From the beginning, I never truly resolved to let her leave, because I couldn’t bear to.

Decades of marriage can’t just be forgotten. Let her consider how some things just aren’t as important as they seem, but in my view of life, all that she cares about I need not worry about. As long as she is happy and joyful, that’s enough because my greatest hope in life is to see her smiling, carefree!”

Zhang Yichen hadn’t expected his father to love his mother so deeply. Considering her wrongdoing came first, yet his father still didn’t care about right and wrong because of his love for her. If one day such a situation befell him, how would he choose? Would he immediately decide to drive his wife out of the house, making it impossible for her to return for a lifetime?

Perhaps everyone’s attitude towards issues is different, and so are their views. What seems a major issue in his eyes might be forgivable for his father, who could go to any lengths for the love of his mother. Such love seemed unattainable to him because he had the whole world to protect, everything he had worked so hard for. Only he knew how hard his journey had been to achieve what he had!

”Dad, I never thought you could love mom so deeply. When I see you like this, sometimes I ask myself, if I were faced with the same situation, would I make the same decision as you? Perhaps I wouldn’t because you can wander the world carefree, but I can’t, I have my own family here, I’ve built my own domain from scratch, so there’s no way I can give up!”

”Child, I understand your decision, and I completely empathize with you. I also know how difficult it has been for you today. If you make a decision different from mine, it’s understandable. How can I force you to make the same decision as me?”
