My Alleged Husband

Chapter 737: Chapter 707 Hate Me That’s Fine_1

Zhang Zhentian knew that these matters might not be so easily let go in the eyes of his son. As a child abandoned by his biological parents, how could he not harbor hatred? But there were some things Zhang Zhentian had no power to decide, and in the end, he could only blame himself, admitting that it was his decision back then that led to such a desperate and awkward situation.

”Do you think, in your eyes, a simple ’sorry’ for a wrong done can make it seem like nothing ever happened?”

Is an apology really so worthless to you? Can a single ’sorry’ erase all the mistakes you’ve made? Have you ever considered how much ridicule your child will face because of your actions?”

Maybe in your eyes, you never considered these things, because all you cared about was the freedom you longed for. In your eyes, what did your own child matter? Insignificant; someone who could be happy and joyful because of some things you did, or someone who could live a life of unbearable pain because of your actions.

There are very few parents as selfish as you in the world, but why can you never try to see things from your child’s perspective? Is it really that hard to think about me for once?

I am your child, the only child you have in this lifetime, but do your actions truly reflect that I am your child?

In your eyes, I am not your child; I’m just a tool to be used. Your actions fill me with fear. You might abandon me for freedom; what’s to stop you from abandoning me completely for something else in the future?”

Zhang Zhentian never expected his child to harbor such deep thoughts about him. Didn’t he realize why he had come back this time? Didn’t he understand the guilt he had carried these years?

For his child, he never lived happily; every time he thought about how his actions had embarrassed his child and how much ridicule it had brought upon him. No matter what others said, he always wanted his child to live happily, but he had been unable to give him anything.

”Child, I know some things in your heart can never be changed, but shouldn’t you try to consider the struggles we faced as parents? When we chose to abandon you, we were truly driven to desperation, step by step, to a dead end. I, too, hoped you could have stayed by our side happily, but our actions ultimately hurt you, an outcome that perhaps none of us could have ever imagined!”

You will never understand the piercing heartache of a parent who has completely abandoned their child. These years, we have been bearing such pain. We never blamed anyone else because we knew this pain was of our own making. We could only watch helplessly as the pain gnawed away at our hearts, unable to do anything.

Though we were not by your side as you grew, we were still a part of every growth you went through. Watching you endure so much, do you think it didn’t hurt us to see? We chose to say nothing because there were things we didn’t know how to start explaining. All these hardships were the result of choices we made; what more could we say? We had no choice but to silently watch you struggle with everything you faced, unable to act. You chose your path, proving to us that you were the strongest, which is why you live so laboriously and are so weary at heart. You keep reconsidering your life, but have you thought about how we are supposed to live ours?

I know you harbor resentment towards us, but if you truly have grievances, please direct all your hatred at me. Don’t hate your mother; hating me is enough. Everything that has happened is solely because of me. You have no right to hate her. She gave you life, she bore you and brought you into this world. You should understand that pain. Stop hating her. Let me, your father, be the one to take the blame for any mistakes on your mother’s part!”

”It seems you really have deep feelings for my mother, so much so that you would take on my resentment on her behalf. But does she truly have you in her heart? Over these years, she’s used you as a substitute, but you’ve been wholeheartedly devoted to her. You disregard every mistake she makes; I overlook them and don’t take them to heart. But I can’t do the same. No matter what, you are my father!

Maybe I really shouldn’t interfere with what’s between you two, but have you ever thought about the shadow your actions will cast over me? Have you ever considered how much pain I live with every day? All I wanted was a stable life, but what outcome did I get in the end? Have you ever thought about that?

Maybe in your eyes, living a simple and happy life is too easy, but for me, a younger generation, it’s incredibly difficult. I’ve never had your company, and even now you have no right to ask me to change anything because of you. You don’t have that privilege!”

”Anyway, I just hope you remember. No matter what happens, don’t hate your mother; hating me is enough. No matter how much hatred you hold for me, whether it’s deep-seated or not, I am ready to accept it. But hating your mother is something I can never accept in this lifetime, because she truly wanted to stay by your side. She has chosen a different way to love you, a way that is precisely what you find most unacceptable!”
