My Alleged Husband

Chapter 328: Chapter 308 Don’t Move_1

Ran Zhihan saw something red appear on Zhang Yichen’s arm; upon closer inspection, she realized it was his surgical incision that had torn open again, which was why it was bleeding.

”I told you not to move around. Look, it’s bleeding again. Are you in pain, you silly pig? And you say I’m hopelessly dumb, I think it’s you who’s truly hopeless. Don’t you know you’re supposed to rest peacefully and not move around after surgery? Fidgeting like that, see what’s happened? The wound is bleeding again and needs to be stitched up...”

”Are you so anxious because you’re worried about me?” Zhang Yichen asked groggily.

”Dumb pig, who else would I care about if not you? You’re going to be my husband in the future, how can you be so foolish? If you keep being this silly, I won’t want you anymore...”

”Don’t talk like that. I only act silly in front of you. Do you see me being like this in front of others? I am the king of world economics, who can outsmart me? I just can’t seem to be too clever in front of the person I love, because it would make you feel inferior, unhappy. You’re the real fool!”

Ran Zhihan was stunned. She suddenly thought Zhang Yichen made a lot of sense. If the man in front of her was really as intelligent as he acted, wouldn’t her intelligence be completely overshadowed by his? It seemed like this man was quite considerate, not wanting to hurt her with his intelligence, pretending to be a fool in front of her. How could she bear to hurt him again? Whatever happened, she must never leave him alone here again; it would be too cruel to him.

”Silly girl, what are you thinking about?” Zhang Yichen saw that Ran Zhihan’s mind was elsewhere and spoke to her.

”Nothing much. I was just wondering if one day you would suddenly leave me.”

”How many times have I told you, if I say I won’t leave you in this lifetime, then I definitely won’t. Can’t you trust me a bit more? Do you think we can really be husband and wife if there’s no trust between us? Are you silly?”

”If I weren’t foolish, how could your brilliant mind stand out? Alright, no more joking. Honestly, I was just thinking, you’re so good to me, how could I bear to hurt you, how could I bear to leave?”

”Silly girl, you’ve understood now?”

”Yichen, sometimes my personality is still too extreme. If I had given you more trust, then none of this would have happened. You wouldn’t be in the hospital because of the angry words I said to you. Do you know how anxious I was when I learned from your mother about your serious car accident? I was terrified. I feared that the heavens were being so unfair to me, ready to take you away. But thankfully, the heavens still pity me and left you by my side, allowing me to choose to be with you again, so we can create our own happy life together. Looking back, the heavens haven’t been too harsh on me!”

”Let bygones be bygones, let’s not bring up the past anymore. Besides, if I hadn’t angrily said those words to you, you wouldn’t have had the heart to decisively leave me. In fact, we both made mistakes, and neither of us should take all the blame. Let’s forget all the unhappy things from the past and work together to create a happy future. How can we let those unhappy memories affect our happiness ahead? Don’t you agree, my wife?”

”Who is your wife? We’re not even married yet, so why are you calling me that? Have you just finished messing around and now you’ve started spouting nonsense again? How can you be like this, not serious at all!”

”If I’m not serious, then there are no serious people left in the world. Even if I were truly not serious, it would be only towards you. Have you ever seen me being frivolous with anyone else?”

”How would I know that? As far as I’ve seen, you indeed haven’t been frivolous with anyone else, but who knows what you’ve been doing behind my back? It’s possible you’ve been keeping a mistress behind my back!”

”Can you not talk like that? It makes me angry. I’ve lived my life with integrity and sat with worth. Moreover, the Zhang family has been honorable for generations; we would never keep mistresses behind our wives’ backs. Saying such things insults not only me but also my father, my grandfather, and the generations of the Zhang family’s honorable ancestors. I’ve lived my life with a clear conscience, never wronging anyone. Even in business, I always reflect honestly on whether I have ever wronged others, but the answer is no. While I might be decisive and often insensitive in business dealings, I still understand what should and shouldn’t be done. The things that shouldn’t be done, I definitely do not do them because bad results await anyone in such cases. The law is clear-cut, and with my status as an economic king, even if I were to break the law, no one could trouble me...”

”Why?” Ran Zhihan didn’t understand why Zhang Yichen would say such a thing. Could there really be someone above the law in this world?

”Because I have citizenship in England, France, and my home country. Do you think someone with triple citizenship like me, if I were to commit a crime, and one country pursued legal action against me, would the other two let it slide? There might be an economic war between the two countries over just one person like me!”

”People with status and backgrounds are just different. Unlike me, I don’t have such privileges. If I were to commit even a minor offense, I might end up spending my whole life in prison, never to see the outside world again...”

”I’ve just realized a major problem!”

”What problem?”

”I’ve just realized that you, this woman, are not only foolish but also stupid, and what’s more, you’re a complete idiot. It’s hopeless; you’re idiotic beyond cure. If I were the economic king of the world, I would definitely protect you. Who would dare touch my wife?”

”That seems about right. Someone like you, who doesn’t spare any feelings in your dealings, if anyone dared to cross someone you care about, they might really be reduced to begging for the rest of their lives. Speaking of begging, it still makes me angry. Someone cut off all my financial resources and made it so that no company would dare hire me. Those few days were absolutely frantic, and my parents were heartbroken along with me...”

”Ah, my dear, don’t be angry anymore, okay? Once I’m feeling better, I’ll personally go apologize to my parents-in-law. It’s entirely my fault for cutting off your financial resources...”

”That’s more like it!”
