My Alleged Husband

Chapter 326: Chapter 306 Don’t Leave Me Again!_1

”But have you ever thought about it, if I really choose to be with you, the hardships you’ll face in life won’t be just like now. For me, the way we’re living right now, I’m already very satisfied. I’m not a greedy person when it comes to my affairs; I don’t covet others to treat me overly well. I simply give my sincerity to the people I care about. I hope my sincerity can be exchanged for their genuine hearts, not to have my sincerity met with ungratefulness. I’ve found in you that no matter how much sincerity I invest in you, you always give your whole heart back to me. Because you truly have me in your heart, I really do love you. But we are facing a significant problem now. You’re a titan of the world economy, while I have no achievements to my name. In this society, even if you have a lot of money, if you don’t have any achievements, you can only be considered a rich man’s son, not a real CEO. If you truly hope that we can be together, then I need you to give me three more years. I want to use these three years to establish my own company, my own path of destiny. When I have made some achievements, that will be the time I agree to marry you!”

”If after three years you haven’t created your own company, your own path of destiny, will you leave me again?” Zhang Yichen wanted to make it clear; she didn’t want to be deceived any longer.

”I can’t tell you the answer so definitively. All I can say is, if after three years, we haven’t built our own brand, haven’t crafted our own paths in life, then I won’t deserve to stand at the pinnacle of life with you. Therefore, I would only be able to separate from you. And I hope that by then, you won’t stop me!”

”No, if you commit to me now, regardless of whether you have your own company in three years, regardless of whether you have carved out your own path in life, you will continue to live with me, stay by my side, and never leave me for the rest of our lives, then I’ll agree to give you three years. Otherwise, we have nothing further to discuss!”

”How can you be so overbearing? Can’t I control my own destiny? Do I have to listen to you? Who are you to me that you can dictate my everything?”

”Based on what? Simply because you are my wife, and that’s what I have to do. Do you dare to deny it?”

”Who told you I’m your wife? I just don’t acknowledge it. What can you do about it?”

”Do you really not acknowledge it?”

”That’s right, I do not acknowledge it. What are you going to do about it?”

Zhang Yichen didn’t say anything, just took a fruit knife from under his pillow, placed it against his neck, and said to Ran Zhihan, ”If you don’t agree with me, I’ll die right here for you to see. You should know I’m a man of my word, always keeping my promises. Since I say this, I will do it. Right now, I’m not afraid to die; I’m just afraid of losing you. You decide whether you’ll be with me or watch me die before you.”

Ran Zhihan never expected Zhang Yichen to be so fearless of death for her sake. Her heart was genuinely moved. But what could she say? Could she really agree to Zhang Yichen’s demands?

”Don’t be like this. Three years isn’t too long but also not short. Many things can change in three years. Perhaps after three years, you might not wish to continue living with me, but instead seek a woman more suited to you. If I make such a promise to you now, wouldn’t that be irresponsible? If it’s not me who lets you down in three years, but you who betray me, what should I do? I don’t want to promise you now, making you wait another three years for me, only to have to be with you after that. Because so much can really change in three years. Perhaps we should both take that time apart to cool down. But on the other hand, three years could cement all my feelings for you, and if by then you’re finding joy in another woman’s bed, how should I cope then? Have you really considered my feelings?”

”You’re overthinking it. Do I look like someone who joyrides with other women? I’m not asking for anything else, only that you agree to this. I’ll listen to whatever you say. Not just three years – I can give you ten years! Have you made up your mind yet?”

”I’ll say it again, I can’t give you any promises now, nor dare I promise you anything. Promises can fill a person with hope, with longing, but sometimes promises are what hurt a person the deepest!”

”I don’t care. I can give up everything, but I cannot be without you. If you choose to leave me, then sorry, but I’ll go be with you right now. I don’t ask for much in life, I don’t hope to have a large family fortune, nor do I hope to live a glorious life. I just hope to spend my life with a woman like me. Is that really so hard? I beg you, please don’t leave me. As long as you stay, I’ll listen to everything you say! The two of us have been through so much together, never like today. I’ve never pleaded with you like I am today. This is the first time in my life I’ve begged a woman. You are the only one I’ve ever spoken to in such a pleading tone. Can you give me more trust, stay by my side? Let me take care of you for life, I promise I won’t let you suffer even a little bit of hurt. Let’s not bring up those unhappy things of the past. As long as we can live happily ever after, that’s enough. Don’t think about those sad things anymore!”

”How many times do I have to tell you? I really can’t make any promises right now, because I’m afraid that if I make a promise, I’ll let you down. I don’t want that day to come, I’m scared that in three years, it will be you who fails me, just like before. I’ve always been so confident that we could last a long time, but in the end, I realized it was all just a mirage. Do you know? I once had a dream where we got married, had a happy family, had everything. But do you know what conclusion I came to in the end?”

”What is it?”

”The dream is just a mirage in real life... Do you know what that means? Because everything that happens in a dream doesn’t exist in real life. I’m afraid that one day this will become reality. I fear there’s no future for us. So I beg you, don’t push me, give me some way out, let me survive in this world for one more day!”

”I beg you, don’t leave me, I’m begging you. Do you want me to kneel down and beg you?”

”I’m willing to agree to try, but if one day I fail you, I hope you won’t hate me!”

”Okay!”
