My Alleged Husband

Chapter 325: Chapter 305 Who Said That?_1

”You actually deceived me. Which ear of yours heard me say that once you wake up, I’ll never leave you for the rest of my life? Besides, I never admitted how important you are in my heart. If anyone else were lying here because of me, and they were injured because of me, I’d be just as anxious. It’s not just you who’s the exception. You’ve been unconscious for so long; anyone would worry, let alone that we were a couple before. We had chosen to get engaged; it’s just that we hadn’t had the chance to officially marry yet. So many unexpected things happened, leading us to become what we are today. What’s done is done; there’s no exception...” Ran Zhihan said, huffing with anger.

”How can you be like this? Isn’t this cheating my feelings? It was for you that I woke up, but now that I’m awake, you actually say such things to me. Isn’t that all in vain? No way, I’m going to knock myself out. I want to keep sleeping. Who does that, cheating on my feelings like this? After all the effort it took me to wake up, and you still treat me like this [wronged/wronged]”

”Oh, you feel wronged now? Can’t I even say anything about you? Who would dare to live with someone like you? You can’t even be spoken to. I don’t want a husband who’s so delicate!”

”So you mean you agree to get back together with me and never leave me again? I’m so happy, it seems I really did the right thing by waking up today. Especially this car accident, it’s actually been a surprise blessing. Without this accident, how would I have known I’m so important to you, and how could you possibly show weakness? If you didn’t show weakness, how could I possibly have found such a good wife?” Zhang Yichen said to Ran Zhihan, foolishly.

Seeing Zhang Yichen act like a little brat, Ran Zhihan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Just because of a simple promise she’d made, the man she loved most could be so happy!

”Are you a little stupid? Look at you, so foolish, so happy over that casual promise I made. If I’m even a little nicer to you, would you wash your face with tears every day?”

”Actually, my requests aren’t many. All I hope is for the person I love to be by my side and never leave me for the rest of my life. That would be enough for me. I don’t care how much you love me, nor do I care what you can do for me. I care even less about your background, whether you can bring a bright future to my career. What I care about, is seeing my loved one happy and joyful – that’s enough!” Zhang Yichen said as he held Ran Zhihan’s hand.

Ran Zhihan was moved to tears by Zhang Yichen’s words; she tearfully said to him, ”I’m sorry, I was too wilful before, it’s all my fault. Because of me, you have to stay here. If not for the harm I’ve done to you, how could you be lying here unable to move? Do you know how afraid I was that you’d never wake up, how scared I was that you’d become a vegetable because of me? Yet you, as soon as you woke up, you pretended to have amnesia and then came to deceive me, to see how important you are in my heart. How could you do that? Don’t you know? My concerns for you come from the heart, and what about you? Did you really think my worries for you were just for show? You once said that you can’t live without me—so if you leave me, won’t you be able to live just fine?”

Zhang Yichen hadn’t expected Ran Zhihan to still remember something he said a few days ago. How could this woman bear such a grudge?

”You still remember that sentence; I was just angry at the time, flustered by you and spoke without thinking. Don’t take it to heart, okay? Look at how loving we are, why always hang on to those bad memories? That makes you uncomfortable, and it makes me uncomfortable too, right? Anyway, no matter what, now that I’ve woken up, you have to fulfill the promise you made to me: you can’t leave me for the rest of your life, no going back on your word!”

”Who told you I have to be with you for the rest of my life? Which ear of yours heard me say that? And when I took care of you by your bed, I made it very clear that it was just out of a friend’s duty. I would worry for anyone who gets hurt because of me; you’re not an exception in my heart. You’re far too self-indulgent. You really think you’re that important to me? When you said those words to me, I felt cold inside. In that case, there’s no point for us to be together. Rather than living together and tormenting each other, it’s better for us to part ways. A good outcome for everyone. Since we had a good start, we should have a good ending, it’s best for everyone to part on good terms...”

”Do you still want to leave me now? Are you out of your mind? Do you really think your life will be any better without me? I don’t care what others say about me; I only care if your love for me is real or fake. I don’t mind what others think of me, what I care about is whether I’m in your heart. I don’t mind any verbal insults or personal attacks from others, I only care if you will stay by my side for the rest of my life, growing old with me. My requests are truly not excessive, I just need a simple, clean, and pure love. Is that really so hard? You can give up everything you care about for me, and so can I give up everything I should have for you. Love is mutual; if you have me in your heart, then I should give you my sincerity too. I shouldn’t trade your genuine feelings for my lack of care. We’ve been through so much together, can’t you see how much I care about you? I’ve known all along that you have me in your heart, but you’re afraid you’ll hurt me, that’s why you chose to leave me mercilessly. But you never considered that, in leaving me, who loves you so, the pain it causes me surpasses any hurt I’ve gotten from others. You know, in our upper-class society, some people resent those above them, and they’ll try everything to pull them down. I’m not afraid of their actions; I reached my position today through my own skills, the whole world acknowledges me as the economic emperor. No one can defeat me, so you needn’t worry for me. Don’t think all the disasters are because of you; that’s not true at all. Everyone has their choices, and mine is to be with you, even if the road ahead is daunting, I will be indefatigable!”
