My Alleged Husband

Chapter 318: Chapter 298 Deepening Coma_1

At this moment, a call resounded in the ICU ward. It wasn’t a patient’s call, but the alarm of a monitor.

The on-duty doctor hurriedly rushed to the ICU. When he saw all the numbers on the monitor plummeting, he realized that a critical moment had arrived.

”Doctor, how is my son doing? Why is this happening? Why are all the numbers on the monitor dropping so sharply? Is he in danger? You have to tell me!” Xia Jing frantically grasped the doctor’s hand.

”I don’t even know how to explain this to you. All I can say is that right now we can only do our best to plead with him. His condition is more serious than before! Please prepare yourselves mentally!”

Upon hearing the doctor’s words, Xia Jing collapsed to the floor. She had not expected this moment to come so suddenly. Why did her son’s condition worsen out of the blue? Could it be due to something this woman had done?

”Is it because you did something to my son? How could you be so cruel? He’s lying here already, what more do you want? Or do you want to kill him with your own hands? He loves you so much, treasures you like the apple of his eye, fearing the slightest grievance upon you. But why would you do this? You’ve driven him to this state, and now you want to personally finish him off in his hospital bed; do you really hate him that much?”

”Auntie, I haven’t done anything, it really wasn’t me. All I did was go in and speak with him. I don’t know why his condition suddenly worsened. Auntie, you have to believe me, I love him just as much. For him, I could give up everything. I was just hoping he would wake up, trying to stimulate him with my words so that he would come to right away. But I don’t understand why it turned out like this!” Ran Zhihan pleaded.

”Enough, you don’t have to make any more excuses. You need to leave the hospital right now; you are not welcome here...”

As time ticked by, the doctors spent an entire hour in the ICU, battling for a life, before they finally emerged from the ward.

Seeing the doctors come out of the ward, Xia Jing thought her son was finally out of danger and approached them for news. But the answer she received was utterly staggering.

”Doctor, how is my son doing? Is he much better now? Has he passed the critical period?”

”I’m sorry, the patient’s level of coma has deepened. We have tried our best to resuscitate him. The chance of him getting through the critical period now is very slim. Originally, he was supposed to wake up within two days; then he wouldn’t have to become a vegetable. But now, he can only wake up within the next 12 hours. If he can’t wake up within these 12 hours, then he will lie in bed for the rest of his life, and no one will be able to wake him up. I want to check something with you. The patient was a bit agitated just now, which led to his current condition. Did any of you say something to someone else in the ward? Or was there another reason? To be honest, in the patient’s current state, you cannot provoke him with your words. Although with ordinary comatose patients, it wouldn’t matter, for him, it’s a good thing. But right now, he really can’t afford such turmoil. If his memory or brain gets stimulated, it will deepen his coma. And if his condition worsens again, then he will never be able to wake up!”

”Okay, doctor, I understand, thank you, and sorry for the trouble!”

”I knew it was you, woman. What exactly did you say to my son? How could you do this?”

”Auntie, I really didn’t say anything. I just told her that if she could wake up, I’m willing to stay by her side for the rest of my life. Is there something wrong with that? I just want the man I love to wake up. Don’t you want him to wake up too? Are you really willing to let him lie in bed for the rest of his life? He’s still so young. You know how much your son values his self-respect. If he has to lie in bed, unable to move for the rest of his life, he’d rather be dead. I can only awaken his memory in my own way, revive him from his slumbering world in my own way. I believe, one day he will definitely wake up. I will make sure he wakes up within 12 hours, that you can be sure of. But I hope you can give me some time and not just pull me away all of a sudden. I just want to be with him a little longer, regardless of the outcome!”

”You’ve done so much, woman. Why should I believe your words are true? Every single thing you say is unreliable to me. You’re always double-faced, finding it funny to manipulate everyone, aren’t you? Isn’t your heart really delighted? But why can’t you consider things from someone else’s perspective? Don’t you know how much harm you’re causing others? You keep hurting him over and over, and I’ve tolerated it. But this time, I can’t stand it anymore. My son has become like this because of you. I really want to kill you. Keeping you in this world, I’ll only see you continuing to harm my son. I can agree to let you stay here longer with him, but I hope you won’t say anything that will stimulate him again. If he can’t wake up within 12 hours, then you better be prepared to face the consequences!”

”Okay...”

Ran Zhihan didn’t want to think about anything else at the moment; she only hoped her beloved man could wake up. For her, nothing was more important than her beloved man waking up. If he couldn’t wake up within the next 12 hours, then her existence in this world would be meaningless. She would rather die and disappear from this world forever with her beloved, than live on alone. Because for them, the loving couple, that would be too painful.

”My dear, I’ve been speaking to you for so long, but why can’t you do it? Do you know how scared I am now? I’m afraid of you leaving me. I wish so much you could get up and hold me, take me into your arms and say these words to me. Do you know how happy that feels? I know deep down inside you still love me. You just don’t know how to wake up. You’re afraid of waking up and being embarrassed in front of me. But don’t you know? Your choice to keep sleeping only makes me worry more. I, I hope so much that you can wake up, to be with me forever. Believe me, if you are willing to wake up now, then I will stay by your side for the rest of my life, never to part. I ask for nothing more, only for you to be by my side, to let me be happy and joyful forever!”
