Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 251: Chapter 207: All Taught by Xiaomi

Even though there was clearly no one around, Xiaomi still acted mysteriously, lowering her voice as the three little heads huddled together.

With Xiaomi’s mutterings, Zhang Xiaohua went from hesitant at first to gradually showing a determined expression.

Little Xue admired her younger sister as well.

After finishing speaking, Xiaomi lifted her chin: ”How is it, isn’t my idea great?”

Little Xue and Xiao Hua nodded vigorously: ”Great!”

Then Little Xue continued admiringly: ”Xiaomi, you’re amazing, I never thought it could be done this way.”

However, Xiaomi looked at Zhang Xiaohua: ”Although my idea is not bad, it mainly depends on Sister Xiaohua. The more determined Sister Xiaohua’s attitude is, the more likely Uncle Zhang and the others will agree.”

Zhang Xiaohua nodded vigorously: ”Got it, but Sister Xue, is it really possible to start earning money in just a month?”

Little Xue thought for a moment: ”The simplest things might be possible.”

”Just like Xiaomi said, not concerning oneself with other things, just learning the simplest and easiest pattern. Learn it for a month, and it shouldn’t be a problem to take a few handkerchiefs to embroider from the cloth shop.”

The cloth shop also gives outside embroiderers work, generally handkerchiefs and pouches; they provide materials, and embroiderers put down a deposit to take the work home and bring it back when finished.

Generally speaking, unless it’s really unpresentable, you can earn one or two copper coins.

The patterns on the handkerchiefs are relatively small. If you focus on learning a single pattern, you should be able to learn it within a month.

Little Xue had long surpassed this beginner’s level work, but occasionally, when she had nothing to do, she would still embroider handkerchiefs to pass the time.

This is the difference between an outsider and an insider.

Xiaomi gets a headache just seeing needlework, while Little Xue, when tired of embroidering complex patterns, embroiders simple handkerchiefs and pouches to adjust her mood.

However, even the most basic, she was already very excited: ”Really? Can we really earn money?”

Just like the vast majority of rural children, Zhang Xiaohua, grow up having never touched a copper coin.

Even though she helped the family rear so many chickens and pigs, the copper coins earned were never for her to dream of.

Xiaomi pouted, but her chin actually raised a little, with a hint of pride.

”Sister Xiaohua, what’s a handkerchief? My second sisters now help the embroidery room make things; embroidering a fan face, or shoe surfaces, these all earn hundreds of copper coins, while a handkerchief is just a single copper coin.”

Zhang Xiaohua’s eyes widened: ”A hundred! That impressive!”

Little Xue felt a bit embarrassed but explained nonetheless.

”Embroidering is actually quite difficult. There are many considerations and skills involved, like stitches and colors combination. I read in a book that the most talented embroiderers can sell a piece for thousands or even tens of thousands of silver.”

Zhang Xiaohua was almost fainting. For her, who had grown up without ever possessing a single copper coin, just hearing this number almost made her pass out.

Xiaomi clenched her fist and made a cheering gesture: ”Second Sister works hard, she will surely achieve it too!”

Little Xue, being praised, was a bit shy. She then nodded vigorously: ”I will work hard!”

The three girls chatted and laughed, and after finishing washing clothes, Zhang Xiaohua went back first and declared that she would surely persuade her parents!

Xiaomi also encouraged her, but this time, it wasn’t just to find a companion for the second sister.

The main reason was what Zhang Xiaohua said touched Xiaomi deeply and made her admire her.

In this era, women properly stayed at home obeying their fathers and followed their husbands upon marriage, having basically no say of their own, only listening to the arrangements of father or husband.

But Zhang Xiaohua was different, and even in such an environment, she could start planning for her own future, which was indeed very precious and certainly deserved support.

Besides, it’s not something shocking, just learning embroidery, it’s completely fine.

But the prerequisite for all this depends on Zhang Xiaohua herself; she has to first persuade her parents to agree, otherwise everything would be for nothing.

On the way back, Zhang Xiaohua kept cheering herself on.

Whether she could learn embroidery and improve her future life depended on this moment!

Thinking back to what Little Xue and Xiaomi said earlier, Zhang Xiaohua’s mind became more and more resolute.

Although it was already autumn, the early morning and evenings were just more refreshing; it was now noon, and walking in the fields, she soon started sweating all over.
