Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 264: Chapter 212: Peacock Spreading Its Tail

”As you all know, no matter who wants to go to another city, they need a travel permit, and it’s particularly difficult to obtain. If you want to settle down in another place, even more troublesome procedures are needed, and it might not even be possible.”

Jiang Hu nodded earnestly. Indeed, without the court’s permission, running around would get you caught as a spy from another country.

Especially since there was a war a few years ago; Cheng County was almost destroyed. Although the Xuyu Dynasty regained it later, there are still spies from other countries active around.

Jiang Hu didn’t think of these things before, but over the past few years, Uncle Liu would occasionally mention a few things, and Jiang Hu heard some of it.

Xiaomi was shocked, her mouth wide open: ”It’s that serious, so does that mean we can’t even go to the county?”

She had previously been urging her mother about this.

Uncle Liu laughed heartily, ”Of course not, it’s just a bit more troublesome.”

”But what I’m talking about today is this matter. If you have any thoughts, you can prepare in advance.”

Jiang Hu immediately focused, ”Uncle Liu, please explain in detail.”

Uncle Liu pondered for a moment, seemingly thinking about how to explain.

”Here’s the situation: I’ve heard that over in Fuzhou, the population is too low, so in the next year or two, they might attract a portion of people from the surrounding small counties.”

”Being able to go to Fuzhou, many people would definitely be willing, after all, it’s Fuzhou.”

”By then, the population of the surrounding counties will sharply decrease, and Cheng County will be no exception. In this way, there will inevitably be calls for people from surrounding villages and towns to settle in the county.”

Villagers want to go to town, townspeople want to go to the county, and county residents want to go to Fuzhou.

Jiang Hu’s eyes lit up, ”Uncle Liu, do you mean that by that time, if we want to settle in the county, it will be much easier, with fewer restrictions?”

Uncle Liu nodded, ”That’s right. That’s what I mean. You see, the children in the family are all very smart. Jiang Yu can also go to school in the county, and the rest will eventually need to go too.”

”Rather than separating the family at that time, it would be better to make plans early. If you can move to be near the county, you’ll be closer to the children.”

After speaking, Uncle Liu glanced at Xiaoxue, ”Especially since Xiaoxue and Xiaomi are growing up. If they stay in Fu’an Village, when they look for a match, it’ll likely be with someone from nearby villages.”

”But if they go to the county, there will be more and better opportunities to meet good families. It might not be about rising to prominence, but it will certainly be better than staying in the village.”

Xiaoxue blushed, ”Grandpa Liu, what are you talking about? I’m still young.”

Uncle Liu chuckled a few times but didn’t tease the young girl. Instead, he continued to look at the contemplative Jiang Hu.

”It’s not just Xiaoxue and Xiaomi. There are other kids too. Jiang Hu, you need to know that the more prosperous a place is, the more opportunities there are. Even for the sake of the children, you should consider this carefully.”

After all, he isn’t Jiang Hu’s elder, so he can only offer advice. The final decision still has to be made by Jiang Hu himself.

Beside him, Xiaomi nodded repeatedly in her heart, thinking Grandpa Liu was absolutely right.

Not to mention anything else, just going to the county to gain some insights and broaden horizons is far better than staying in the village for a lifetime, farming for a lifetime.

They’re staying in Fu’an Village, and these days there’s no cold chain. The fresh vegetables and fruits from the fields can only be sent as far as Xiangma Town and the surrounding villages.

Going further is not possible.

Even if the Jiang family intends to develop more agriculture, there’s no way to grow more vegetables and fruits.

But if they go to the county, it’s different. The population there is many times that of the town, and there are more wealthy people, which means the consumption of vegetables and fruits will also multiply, right?

However, for her to say this might not be appropriate since she’s just a six-year-old child.

With Uncle Liu mentioning it now, it’s more than fitting, especially given the opportunity.

Jiang Hu listened very intently and appeared very intrigued but didn’t rush to make a decision.

”Uncle Liu, I’ll consider this matter carefully.”

Uncle Liu: ”Take your time, there’s no rush. By the way, are you busy this afternoon? If not, I can tell you about Xiaoyu’s schooling.”

Erniang was going to wash dishes, but Uncle Liu called her to go to the study with Jiang Hu, asking Aunt Yang and Qixi to do some tidying up first.
