Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 269: Chapter 213: Doing Something

After Jiang Yu and Liu Ze returned home, they rested for three days before starting school again. However, this time, Uncle Liu brought back many books.

As for when Jiang Yu and Liu Ze would go to the county, there was no set time.

In a blink, the rice in the fields turned yellow and was ready to be harvested. Jiang Hu had hired people in advance, and in just one day, they threshed the rice and carried it home.

The front yard and outside the main gate were paved with smooth bluestone, making it more convenient for them to dry the grain.

During these busy farming days, the school in town was also closed. Xiao Mi was thrilled and kept dragging people out to play by the fields.

Every year at this time, there was a bountiful harvest of yellow eels, and with some luck, they might even find a softshell turtle or a tortoise.

However, these things were no longer novel to Xiao Mi, but her playful spirit remained, and she still loved to run around everywhere.

Ever since she ’found’ a small peacock last time, Xiao Mi enjoyed going to the mountains even more. Her big brother Liu Ze needed to read, and Jiang Wei was also starting to prepare, as he would turn seven after the New Year and could start school.

Luckily, Wei Ziang had nothing to do these days, and his studies were going well. He accompanied Xiao Mi everywhere—from the mountains to the rivers. Sometimes, they even brought food and didn’t return home for lunch.

Fortunately, with Xiao Hei following them, there was nothing to worry about.

After a few days, Xiao Mi had played to her heart’s content, and it was time for Wei Ziang to return to school.

Almost every household in the village was nearly done with their work, and even Zhang Xiaohua had time to visit Xiao Xue.

Although Xiao Mi loved to play, she wasn’t fond of taking care of kids, especially other people’s kids, who weren’t as obedient as her own brother.

So, Xiao Mi seldom went to the village to find other kids to play with.

Come on, in her past life, she had lived for over twenty years, and in this life, she was almost three or four years old. Play with those little kids?

So, once again, Xiao Mi found herself bored.

”Sis, not going out today?” Jiang Wei was a bit surprised to see Xiao Mi still inside.

Xiao Mi lay on the porch chair, lazily waving her hand, staring blankly ahead, ”Tired, not going.”

Jiang Wei followed Xiao Mi’s line of sight to see the second sister teaching Zhang Xiaohua embroidery.

He then sat down beside Xiao Mi, nudging her with his elbow.

”Sis, why don’t you learn embroidery too? I see the second sister embroiders beautifully and earns a lot of money.”

Xiao Mi rolled her eyes, ”Not learning, just looking at it makes my eyes hurt.”

Jiang Wei pouted, ”I would love to learn it. The second sister earns a lot, but mom says boys shouldn’t embroider.”

Xiao Mi glanced at him, ”Who says boys can’t learn? Some even say girls shouldn’t study. If you want to learn, then learn. There’s no such thing as can’t if the second sister is willing to teach you.”

Jiang Wei was delighted, ”Really? I can learn too?”

Xiao Mi shrugged, ”If you really like it, then learn. If you’re just aiming for money, you’d better think of another way.”

After all, boys tend to be naturally less patient and meticulous than girls.

Embroidery tests endurance and attention to detail the most. If it’s out of love, it doesn’t matter, but if it’s just for money, then forget it.

Jiang Wei thought for a moment, ”Maybe I should first learn from the second sister?”

Saying that, he stood up, eager to give it a try.

Xiao Mi yawned out of boredom, ”Tie Dan, do you know how much money the second sister has saved?”

The family all knew the second sister was the best at saving money, as she was the only one with her own income.

But no one knew the exact amount, except maybe the father who helped sell her embroidery in town.

Jiang Wei thought for a moment, ”In the morning, I think I saw the second sister put down a silver note.”

”So much!” Xiao Mi suddenly sat upright, her eyes wide open.

”Yes!” Jiang Wei nodded vigorously, ”I must learn embroidery!”

Then he ran off to find the second sister.

Xiao Mi heard Jiang Wei loudly proclaiming his desire to learn embroidery, while she pondered how the second sister had amassed so much money.

You’re impressive, my sister. Moving quietly, but securing those silver notes.

The smallest of those silver notes is at least ten taels.

How many years has my sister been learning embroidery? She’s already saved so much money?

In the village, even when growing crops, raising chickens, and feeding pigs, one might not save a single tael of silver in a year.

Xiao Mi was genuinely shocked!

She thought about her own savings over the past few years, consisting only of occasional pocket money from her parents, and they didn’t even add up to a single tael, no, not even half a tael!
